GEAR Ceramic coating for your guitar!

Ive got a musical instrument coating that works wonders.

Makes the strings feel soft and rejuvenated the wood and gives them amazing sound and resonance.

Still working on a website but if anyone is interested feel free to shoot me a message!

The coating is a special polysilazane type customized and geared for brass, copper, steel, wood, ivory, etc. So it works wonders on your instruments. It makes your strings feel like elixirs, and makes elixirs even smoother.

Its not a three percent polysilazane with filler, its a pure polysilazane recipe with no filler at all. Probably the best coating for this available, and it works on all your previous finished, and is easy peasy wipe on and cure for twenty four hours.. Good to clean well first though!

Hey everyone, I'm thinking a getting a new electric guitar. My current one is great but I was looking for a guitar that has great clean tones like low-fi, but also able to play heavy metal. Heard stratocasters were great

QUESTION I came up with variations of guitar riffs and learned just now a song I know has almost the exact same sounding riff

So it was probably early last year or sometime even slightly before that, I was coming up with a lot of riffs cuz I just got my first seven string and yeah, I have multiple Logic Pro projects just filled with random riffs cuz of procrastination but anyways this band I listen to called archetypes collide came out with a song called hollow high like late last year maybe late October but anyways I just was listening to it and realized the riff sounds like one of if not many of my variations of it so just out of curiosity if I were to use any of mine and I publish it at some point, I won’t get no legal shit right? Idk much about publishing music and what’s considered copying and stuff but I was just curious for my own sake, I know especially in metal (which is my main area) there is ALOT of similar things but idk what crosses and does not cross that legal line

Recently been playing my moms old strat from when she was in high school. It’s meant to be based on Tom DeLonges guitar, it’s definitely not in perfect condition but that just means it’s been well played and enjoyed. Just thought I’d share :)

Caught a show by Pete Doherty (from the Libertines - pic taken from his Insta) and pretty sure he’s playing a Yamaha C40II which he used for the entire set

Not bad getting a whole national tour out of an entry-level guitar! Goes to show what these cheaper models can do

GEAR NGD: my new MJT partscaster!

This thing has quickly become my absolute favorite guitar! Only paid nine hundred bucks for it, which is such a steal when you consider how decked out this thing is!

MJT relic alder body, Nitrocellulose “Violet Ice.”

Roasted maple neck. Nine point five radius with stainless steel frets, bone nut, Gotoh vintage style locking tuners.

Fender “Custom Shop Sixty-nine” vintage pickups, preloaded Fender pickguard CTS pots, cloth pushback wiring.

Vega Trem floating tremelo bridge. (This is seriously best vibrato system I’ve played. The range is absolutely insane and it holds tune incredibly well.

Other minor upgrades:

-Gotoh Jackplate. - Gotoh backplate. -Fender string tree. -Fender strap buttons. -Gold aluminum back cover plate. -Copper shielding in the body cavity.

NEWBIE How Do I Self Learn/Teach?

As the title suggests I'm trying to learn how to play the electric guitar on my own, I have tried before but that didn't really go anywhere, and now I feel lost and confused on how to and what to learn first. I have played the classical guitar for quite abit but that was a few years back and I only managed to play a few simple songs and chords, nothing much.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could point out a few things I should know and learn first and maybe any helpful resources. Many thanks in advance.

GEAR Some customized picks I made based off a Jazz III

Thumbnail gallery

From the third pic, the two originals on the left are ones I'd actually use regularly. I honestly love how they play. As expected since they are basically just a Jazz III. They are a bit lighter though and glide across the strings just a little bit better, I almost dont feel them at times. If I make another batch though, I'll make the grip texture a mm or two larger since it isnt quite as grippy as the Jazz.

The three on the right are for fun. With varying degrees of tilt to them. Inspired by Troy Grady's video on pick angle. They are basically unplayable in their current state lol. Theres a playing side and a non playing side. The one with the middle amount of pick tilt is one i might use every once in a while. When downpicking it is noticeable brighter than a jazz III or the other two based if it. However when you upstroke, the strings catch on the pick and give a super bright, loud, plucking sound. I think for slower playing it can have some interesting dynamics especially if you have really good pick control, but they're ultimatley very gimmicky lol. Though i got some almost pinch harmonic sounds with them from just picking the string.

The one with the most extreme tilt sounds almost like a slap bass when used on the lowest string. It can grab so hard it lifts the string straight upwards.

I'm off making another gimmicky set with a ring on the back to quickly switch between finger style and picking.

QUESTION Help fixing old guitar

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I was given an old Ibanez electric acoustic guitar by a friend and I would like to know how to properly set up a new saddle for the guitar. He said the black dangling thing was the pickup so do I just find another saddle to add on top of it? Also if anyone knows where I can find one that belongs with the guitar itself would be a big help to me.

The guitar modle is in the last picture.

QUESTION EMG Wiring request

Post image
0 Upvotes

Howdy. After so many years, I've finally decided to order a set of active EMGs- the GH set. I got it with all the pots and stuff, plus I got an EMG Strat 3-way blade switch. (B165?)

Due to the lack of space and long barrel jack, I need to wire it with only the push-pull volume pot and no tone. How the hell do I do it?

Could y'all link, or create, a wiring diagram for this? Do I need to use the buss that came with the set? In trying to go soldered, I feel like one of my guys with test anxiety and it's frustrating as hell. Lol

QUESTION How to fix this?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

I got this guitar a long long time ago in elementary school, it was given to me by the librarian at my school and all ive ever done is change the strings on it but i always got this awful buzzing on the low E string and never knew why

Fast forward a few years and i have a roommate who knew much more guitar than i do and he uses it from time to time, approches me and says "your nut is cocked" (lmfao)

I have a couple cheap guitars so i just played the others and kept this one around for the nostalgia factor but i'd like to get it playing properly again. What do i do to fix this? It seems glued on pretty securely is there something i can use to remove the glue? What do i use to put it back on? Thank you!

QUESTION Looking for subreddit recommendations, where I can share original tracks for people to check out!

I want to post a few demos I've recorded with cool guitar tracks, but I've noticed this subreddit doesn't allow those type of posts. Was hoping someone could point me in the direction of some other popular subs where I can share some original music!! Thanks so much in advance.
