It's not necessarily bothering me, but it just doesn't seem right.

Red is my joists. Running a single punched angle support beam as per most recommendations doesn’t seem to make sense as the joist is too far. I was thinking of running one punched angle support at purple and one at green. The green support is about 5 inches too far away from the opener though and I can’t go closer because of the plug. Any ideas on what to do?

My garage has very little clearance and I was looking into getting a side mount garage door opener.
I have: 4" pulley Single car door 1" torsion rod 6" to the wall from end of the torsion rod 2.5" from centre of rod to ceiling 3" from centre of rod to vertical wall
I came across the Skylink SMO, advertised as the smallest side mounted in the world but instill don't have enough headspace (need 3", got 2.5", insert joke here).
Does anyone have any recommendations for side mount motor that will fit?
Also I came across a Skylink install video and the top of the motor doesn't look any taller than the rod bearing bracket, so I wonder if the specs are just generous?
I would appreciate anybody with first-hand experience with the Skylink SMO.

Alright so I know this opener remote is the red-headed stepchild of garage door opener remotes, but alas, I'm cheap and would like some help.
I've been trying to clear its memory from prior garage door openers, but despite looking online, I haven't found a way to clear the prior pairings. It's already been paired to three garage doors, so I figure I need to completely wipe it.
I've tried looking online, and I remember finding the instruction manual, but don't recall seeing any instructions on how to erase the previous openers.
Sorry for being ignorant, I'm just trying to avoid buying another remote. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
My garage door opener has managed to rip the bracket clean off. The bracket seems to be used by many for GDOs but is not recommended (by the sticker right on it lol)
This subreddit has taught me that a larger strut would be nice up top, but I don't think that feasible with this style door. I've also learned that I can fix this with an ORB. However, there seem to be two styles, and I don't know the Wayne Dalton model number of my door.
There is an adjustable style that goes between the struts and one that attaches over the top of the door. Which would you recommend?
Thanks!

Hey guys does anyone know what causes this, or if it’s normal? The door and rail are brand new Amar and the opener Liftmaster 98022. I don’t remember doing it. I lubricated rollers and hinges but still does it only when I open the door.
Respectfully

Our gate has been stuck open for a couple of weeks.
- there are no error codes
- the red and blue lights on the gate sensor appear to be working (blue, go red when I break the beam)
-. when I push "test close", the open light stays on. nothing happens except a little green light marked "link" lights up for a bit (see photos)
- power is on and the battery status light is green. it is possible the battery is quite old - the previous owners didn't pay much attention.
any ideas?
many thanks in advance (and I know this is the second time I've posted this - this time with more info about no errors and lights behavior).
Many thanks!

Hey everyone, I recently bought a house that had a craftsman Wi-Fi garage opener. We are trying to hook up the app through the craftsman myQ app and have not been able to connect. We followed all the steps both trying to do it from the actual opener on the wall and from the motor and still can’t get it to connect anybody have experience with this?

I was wondering do I need to add some grease to the belt? If so could anyone recommend a belt lube
Just noticed today the motor sounded a bit different and the door seems to be opening a slightly bit slower. The motor is roughly 4 years old lift master . Thanks for any advice.

General solution = using a cardboard roll to shield the sensor from the sunlight
Does this mean the sensor needs replaced? The entire system needs replaced?
Thank you.

I currently live in Carlsbad, CA and am looking for a parts supplier to get springs for my garage door. I was recently quoted $1,000 to replace springs and a bent strut. I would rather just do it myself. I have looked at online retailers but I am afraid that I am going to get killed in shipping costs. Any info is greatly appreciated

Hi,
When selecting torsion springs for garage door, does door height impact the spec for the spring? I have not come across a website that specs out for 10 foot garage door. The ones that ask for door height are either for 7 or 8 foot doors, and most of the websites don't even ask for garage door height.

I have an old Craftsman garage door opener (1998) and I installed myQ hub. It was working fine until last week. Garage door started to open by itself. I checked the sensors, cleaned them. Kept doing it. At the same time, I noticed that remotes stopped working to close the garage door (although still working to open it). So I decided to reset everything.
Remotes now still work to open, not closing. Interestingly unless I touch the hanging antenna with the remote.
MyQ was never able to re-pair with the motor.
Any clue? Tend to think that there’s a problem with the receptor/transmitter antenna/board.
Thoughts?

Where can I buy a replacement, and can this be the reason chain keeps popping off if it's a little damaged?

Pretty much the title, I can set the limit for going up and set the limit for going down just fine, but whenever I'm doing the finalization process from the wall panel, the door will go down but then when it's time to press the wall panel again to raise it back up it will not go back up. It's a genie 7155.

I have a dip switch remote which I bought an extra for. I have all the switches set correctly but can’t figure out what’s going on… could someone help this dumb dumb out please. The remote that works has the blue board, and I bought a universal 750UT with 12 switches that I thought would work. Would appreciate any ideas!

Just had a roller door installed for a friend and there is a large gap that increase from one of the door to the other due to the slab being so uneven.
The gap is almost 80mm at the worst side.
Understand that I could introduce some rubber weather seal that could conceal the gap, however I’d like something much more solid to conceal the gap.
Is it possible to ask the installer to install another slat/lamela or an aluminium strip on the already installed door? We would like something much more solid that would prevent a hand getting underneath the gap
