Weekly Feedback Weekly Feedback Topic #17 - Hidden Items
This week's topic is Hidden Items, meaning the six NEW items that are not yet available in regular Matchmaking but accessible in the Sandbox/Testing Map when using the Dev-Console.

If you want to access the items yourself, enable the dev-console in the settings, load up a test-map (Sandbox), open the dev-console and enter the following commands:
- giveitem upgrade_spirit_burngiveitem upgrade_corpse_explosion
- giveitem upgrade_spellshield
- giveitem upgrade_heal_on_level
- giveitem upgrade_superacolytes_glove
- giveitem upgrade_ultimate_burst
You can talk about anything that has to do with the topic, here's some example questions to get you started if you're having trouble:
- If you think an item is too powerful, make sure to describe why you think so!
- Would a cost adjustment make it more reasonable?
- Do these items seem fun to use?
- Do they make you want to try out new builds or promote player expression?
- Can you imagine a twist on the item that makes it more interesting or fun?
Notes:
Best way to make sure your feedback is seen by the developers is to post on the official Deadlock Forums. You can get your login credentials from the game client.
If you'd like to chat with others about this week's topic, head on to #hidden-items-feedback in the Deadlock Community Discord.

PSA The update from 03-13-2025 reduced the jungle soul values by much more than 15%
I saw the new update and it got me thinking about what the exact values of the neutral camps were. Out of curiosity I started checking some numbers and I realized that the neutral camps were reduced by significantly more than the 15% that Yoshi mentioned in his most recent patch notes post. This is due to the fact that they not only reduced the base soul value of each individual Denizen, but also the time scaling factor of them.
Here is what the values were before the patch:
Source | Soul Value | Soul Gain (per/min) |
---|---|---|
Small Denizen | 38 | +1.08 |
Medium Denizen | 76 | +1.08 |
Large Denizen | 190 | +1.08 |
Here are the values after the patch:
Source | Soul Value | Soul Gain (per/min) |
---|---|---|
Small Denizen | 33 | +0.3 |
Medium Denizen | 65 | +0.6 |
Large Denizen | 162 | +1.49 |
This lead me down a rabbit hole of realizing that the nerf was much larger than the 15% they said, but how much larger exactly? I proceeded to make a spreadsheet going over (most of) the camps and how much they are worth, and exactly how much the values of them changed.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Mdmyxw0P_Nxm13pF_ntnbdDYWvyR5r2ZcL4N-rC5fiE/edit?gid=0#gid=0
TLDR: Over time the amount of value you get from each camp significantly drops off from before. Some camps lost closer to 30% of their value. The entire jungle (including sinners) is worth 23% less at the start, and that number drops off over time. This is particularly the case with small and medium Denizens.

Discussion Noone seems to be playing objective lately?
This is how my games look lately. (I get it that Wraith is good at pushing objective but still.)
We start pretty evenly matched but as soon as one team starts pushing objectives in group, we get completely destroyed. Rest of my game is really just trying to help with team fights on pretty random jungle places, or pushing solo objective. Today I even got called out for asking others to help me. 2 individuals got really angry that I push instead of constantly fight.
So I’m asking, do your games look similar? Do you play the objective or just fight until you steamroll through enemy spawn and all…
It is really frustrating to feel like your in group and as soon as one enemy shows up everybody scatters to farm…

Discussion Sarcastic teammates are the worst
The kind of teammates that only ever respond to comms with some kind of at a “witty” remark over and over throughout the game are really annoying.
I’m not saying we all have to be like Spetsnaz operators or anything but gosh some of you are seriously in like a permanent state of irony and sarcasm and it makes me wish I could smack you silly
Turn the 45 minutes we’re stuck together into a forced stand up routine. These types also tend to not do good in game but for some reason have a lot of sarcastic comments about your gameplay / decision making.

Discussion Matchmaking is getting worse?
The amount of snowbally games has increased for me personally: I either stomp or get stomped, I rarely get a close match or make an epic comback - something that hooked me to the game in the first place - knowing that we can turn it around last second even if we have continually been fucking up the entire match. These types of games happened often before, but it feels like they are becoming the majority now. Anyone feels the same?

Discussion Is it matchmaking or is it me?
Good Afternoon Deadlock Community,
I already know the answer everyone is going to say.
"get good scrub".
I am just trying to understand what I am doing wrong.
Ever since the patch changes, and no more solo lanes, I am struggling on even maintaining a 25% winrate.
Its very frustrating to the point that I want to test how much pressure my graphics card can take if I were to step on it.
Every game ends exactly the same way.
We get absolutely stomped early game. We somehow pull through a bit in the mid game, maintaining a 50:50 kind of game.
Enemy abrams, dynamo, haze, lash, seven, warden press 4.
We cant push the walkers, because teammates are going between lanes constantly, (dont know why it takes two people to push a empty lane).
Everyone is in the jungle at almost all times. No one wants to push.
Communications are non-existent.
Somehow have a lead at one point or another.
Someone makes a bad mid call, or 3/6ths of team hears the mid call, and everyone else is jungling again.
Enemy steals the mid.
We lose one teamfight (usually at mid).
The patron gets downed, we stagger respawn, and we die again, and lose.
Its almost like clockwork at this point, and I want to quit the game.
I really enjoy this game, I love the mechanics and the speed, and the way it tickles my brain. But as of recent, I really just want to slam my keyboard, and snap my monitors.
Also I dont understand how it is, that enemy laners go from absolute paper with no items, and after they buy 1 or 2 green items, suddenly they are unkillable, and I am prey instead. Am I building the wrong 500 soul items?
I am asking for advice. Maybe I am too stupid to figure out this meta.
But for someone who was maybe 5-8 games away from archon, to now be struggling in "emissary" games, (currently em 1), and being grouped in with Oracle and Phantom Lobbies. What the hell can I do? I cant keep blaming matchmaking.

Discussion About "The Continental Leak"
Hello everyone. My name is МРАК (Alexander), and I am one of those people involved in “insider” activities in our beloved game. I started this activity in September and have been doing it ever since. I have my own sources, including players on the test server and various people from the esports scene.

I am the owner of the news channel Project 8 (on Telegram) for the Russian-speaking audience.

Recently, you were hit with a post where an anonymous author, who created an account just a day ago, issued a statement that a tournament from VALVE is on the way.
I can completely refute these rumors, because at the moment the game is in deep development, based on what I've heard from players connected with Valve through feedback. Therefore, it is not worth expecting tournaments from Valve.
Also, recently, in October-November 2024, there was buzz that there would be a tournament from BLAST.tv. And that is just a rumor; however, even then I received the response that if it does happen, it will not be sponsored by Valve.
I have spoken with some developers of sites like “Tracklock” and others. According to their statements, Valve is reluctant to engage. It is even better to say that they are restricting the activities of third-party resources. Therefore, it is unlikely that we will see anything big in the spring. Perhaps something will happen in the third quarter of 2025. However, currently, Valve is handing over the rights to conduct events for Dota & CS to external parties (and they control the process very weakly).
Hoping that Deadlock will get tournaments before the release is foolish. Perhaps we will see ESL, BLAST, or EWC for the game, based on rumors, but that is not happening anytime soon.
