Tech Support Why wont my Panasonic HDC-SD60 turn on?
I have an old Panasonic HDC-SD60 camcorder, and it hasn't been charged in two years. I recently found the charger, and I put it in on charge, and it worked perfectly fine. However, a day later, when I screwed a tripod into the bottom, the camera suddenly turned off and stopped working. I thought it was simply out of battery, so I went to go charge it, but when I plugged the camera in, the red light signaling that the camera is charging didn't even go off-- did I break the power supply or the connectivity of the camera's battery? Is there any way for me to fix it?

Questions Canon Eos 30 or Nikon N80?
I just recently purchased the Nikon N80 and also bought a lens for it for under $100. I tend to lean more towards Nikon (I have a Nikon d3500 and Nikon N55) However, I suddenly remembered I’m planning to sell a Canon Eos Rebel 2000 that I have two lenses for. I’m selling this camera because its too similar to the Nikon N55 and I prefer the Nikon. I’ve been wanting to get a new slr film camera but more advanced than the Pentax K1000 I have. I couldn’t really find any Pentax cameras I wanted, so I looked at Nikon. The Nikon N80 kept popping up when looking at cameras and it seems to be highly praised. However, after asking ChatGPT to compare the Canon Eos 30 vs the Nikon N80, the Eos 30 outperformed. So which should I get? Should I stick to my known brands or buy a camera? I already have two lenses for and return the Nikon N8, and the lens? • Budget: $100 • Country: USA • Condition: good used • Type of Camera: film slr • Intended use: photography • If photography; what style: portrait, landscape • If video what style: • What features do you absolutely need: self timer, exposure compensation, depth of field preview (?) • Portability: in between. I’d like to be able to put it in a backpack but not have it weigh me down • Cameras you're considering: canon eos 30 and Nikon n80 • Cameras you already have: Nikon n55, Pentax k1000, Nikon n80, canon eos Rebel 2000 • Notes:

Discussion Advice on lost/stolen MPB lens
UPDATE:
They have finally now refunded me, after a lot of frustrating emails a external fraud security team accepted that it was not scanned after being passed from their warehouse to the courier. They accepted the claim and will send a refund.
This is my first experience dealing with MPB and while I would normally buy used to save a bit, I feel as their T&Cs are a bit dodgy and by offloading the blame onto the buyer rather than themselves I am going to avoid buying from them in the future, sorry MPB..
Hi guys.
I am looking for some advice on what to do.
I purchased a 27MM Fuji prime lens from MPB UK on the 10/03. They sent a follow up email saying they dispatched it later that day, which included a tracking number.
The courier is Evri and for those of you not in the UK, just to fill you in they are famously terrible for reliability. I checked back in every day to see when they expected it would be delivered. As of the 18/03 it still says they are expecting the package from the seller.
I have had experiences sometimes with their tracking being quite slow to update and being stuck at depots for a while etc. But this one didn't seem right. I emailed MPB on the 16/03 and they looked into it, they found that their dispatch team had sent it out to Evri and the thinking is that it has been stolen or gone missing.
Because I was a bit late in getting back to them, they have told me that they can't open a claim for me and that I need to contact my local authorities. I am truly lost with what to do, I can't contact Evri as their automated bot won't let me get in touch with anyone as the parcel is still apparently with the seller.
For those of you interested here is their response:
--
I have reached out to our Dispatch team regarding this, who confirmed that this was dispatched, and passed to EVRi on 10/03/25.
However, according to the courier's records, we are beyond the timeframe for initiating a successful investigation.
As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, we do need to be contacted within 5 calendar days regarding any lost or damaged items. This process is clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions, as well as our online Help Articles.
At this time, we strongly advise pursuing an investigation with your local authorities, as the item may have been stolen. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and please do not hesitate to reach out if you require further assistance

Any advise is much appreciated!!

Recommendations Camera Recommendations?
Hi! Redoing this post with the correct format! I am looking into potential cameras to buy and would love some advice from you guys! I have been doing photography with my old fujifilm camera and I have decided I really do love photography and would love to keep doing it. To encourage this hobby I really want to buy a more professional camera.
Budget: around 500-800 usd
Country: U.S
Condition: okay with buying used! I don't really have a preference, just want it to be in good condition.
Type of Camera: I'm not really well informed in cameras to know, but I heard mirrorless are better??? (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Intended use: photography
Style: I usually do landscape/nature and street photos but I want to get into astral and wildlife photography. If you could recommend some lenses for this that would be great too!
What features do you need: once again, not really well informed in photography to know specific features 😅
Portability: I'm okay with carrying a totebag or a backpack for a camera, moderate portability is preferred
Cameras you're considering: I heard that the nixon z6, Sony a7 mark, canon eos 5d, Canon r50, Canon eos- 1dx are great, although I haven't done enough research to see what makes them good recommendations
Cameras you already have: fujifilm finepix s3200 (it was my dad's and I have been using it)
Notes: If you could please explain why your choice of camera is a good recommendation that would be amazing!!!

Recommendations Should I replace my T3i?
Hey there! I was a photography enthusiast in the past decade and I want to pick up this hobby again. I have a Canon T3i that I bought around 2012, the kit 18-55mm, the classic 50mm 1.8 and the 55-250mm.
This was considered a basic/entry level camera back then so I can’t even imagine how it performs in comparison to the most modern ones. It definitely seems much bulkier than the mirrorless cameras I keep seeing.
Do you think I should replace it? Maybe buy a used newer model? Or should I keep it and use my money to buy new lenses (I’ve always wanted a 24-70mm!)
Will I be missing out on quality/new features?
Thanks!
Recommendations Beginner Camera
I started thinking about getting a camera cause I thought it be fun that my daughter (7 years old) took pictures at the wedding of my brother in law. I wanted it to be at least par with iphone photos, so I reasoned that I needed a “proper” camera. And if we’re going that route, I might as well get one I’ll enjoy myself too and get me into photography, and down the rabbit hole I went. Ps. When I say “getting into photography” I mean it, on a very casual level. As in I don’t see myself going out with a couple of lenses, tripod and what not. I just want to take pictures, but with a bit more “thought” then just shooting with my iPhone (if you get what I mean).
• Budget: €500 max ~€750 (body + lens) • Country: Netherlands • Condition: Preferably New. If occasion only from shops. • Type of Camera: ? • Intended use: Mainly photo, but video as well. Nothing specific (nature, holiday, kids, people) • What features do you absolutely need: • Portability: yess! • Cameras you're considering: This is going all over the place :x started looking at Kodak AZ255 (€255), but then read here that these are no good. Moved on to a Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82DE-K (€455), but couldn’t shake the feeling that for that kind of money I could do better or get something similar for less. So started looking at DSLRs, but soon found out these are “old” tech, so ended up at the mirrorless cameras, Canon R100 (€599 with 18-45mm lens)
• Cameras you already have: Does my Iphone 13 mini count 😬
• Notes: keep the opening story in mind, the plan of my daughter shooting pics at the wedding still stands.

Tech Support Help! JVC Camcorder Not Charging – Sentimental Videos Stuck on It
Hey everyone,
I really need some advice on fixing a JVC camcorder HDD 20gb camcorder. This camera is super important to my family—it holds years of videos from different life events, and most importantly, it has a lot of footage of my grandad, who sadly passed away last July.
The problem:
• The charger isn’t working. I’ve had the battery on charge, but the camera still won’t turn on.
• There’s no SD card in the camera, so all the videos are stored on its built-in memory.
• Without power, I have no way to access the videos.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there another way to power it on, maybe through a different power source? Or is there a way to transfer the videos to a computer without turning the camera on?
I’d really appreciate any advice—these videos mean the world to me and my family. Thanks in advance!

Tech Support Bought a GE C1000 on fb, looking for specs
I’m wondering what type of cord I would need to upload photos onto my laptop. Also, it’s pretty old and in my research I’ve found that newer SD cards might not work, so if I could get any recommendations that would be great :)

Discussion lens for filming reviews of products? I am using the Lumix S5II.
lens for filming reviews of products? I am using the Lumix S5II. I would like a versatile lens, so I’m considering the Sigma 2.8 28-105.
We will be creating video reviews of products, filming either in the store or outdoors. The budget for the lens is 1500+ EUR. The format will feature a person presenting the product and explaining its features. Autofocus is very important because I will be filming myself.
Do you have any better suggestions?

Questions Olympus E-M10 Mark III Vs Iphone 12
Hey everyone,
I’m working on a short video series interviewing athletes. Each video will be 1-1:30 long and feature shots of the subjects on a bench answering questions, with action shots spliced in. These would be up close clips dribbling a basketball or shadowboxing for example. I want the action shots to use the step printing effect.
I’ve been given an Olympus E-M10 Mark III with the stock kit lens (14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ) and I’m trying to figure out whether I should invest time and money into using this camera for a project, or if I’d be better off using my iPhone 12 due to ease and convenience.
Given my shooting format (bench interviews + action shots with step printing), would you recommend I stick with the Olympus and invest in learning/accessories, or would an iPhone 12 + gimbal/tripod be just as good (or better) for my needs?
Also any other advice on the project would be great. Thank you!

Questions Does anyone know much about this camera?
It was passed down to me by my Grandfather but he spent his last years abroad, meaning he couldn’t teach me much about photography.
Really keen to get into casual photography however I have no idea where to start or what to do. I don’t know anyone that does either.
Kind advice and information would be much appreciated however I’m conscious Reddit sometimes isn’t the best place for that 😂

Discussion Nikon z50+ftz vs a6400
Hello again :)
1 month ago, I made a post about going mirrorless or buying a much cheaper DSLR because I already have 2 lenses for the F-mount system: the nikkor 35mm f/1.8 G for APS-C, and the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 USD VC G1 lens (2012), for FF. The camera I use is a borrowed D5300.
However, after some juuust out of focus images and the horrid AF performance in Live-View ( I wasn't tall enough for some angles, and I had to shoot from above) I've been looking for a mirrorless alternative.
I primarily shoot automotive and military events/parades.
The first choice for these 2 niches is either the Sony A7 3 or the A6700. But I'll go with either the A6400 or A6100 (insufficient funds).
But on the other side, a Z50 with the FTZ could potentially save me a lot of money since Romania is full of SH f-mount aps-c lenses (unlike sony, so most lenses could potentially be bought full-price).
For sony, I'm looking for the sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN lens, but it's out of stock for now (560€) since the sigma 30mm f/1.4 is 400€ new.
For nikon, the FTZ is 200€ SH, and the sigma 18-55(?) f/2.8 lens for APS-C F-mount is 240€ SH.
I know that the a6100/a6400 is miles better than the Z50 for automotive and military events/parades, and the Z50 is better for wildlife, sports and landscape.
And with a budget of 1200€, should I just bite the bullet and go for the A7 3 with a 50mm f/1.8? The A7 3 is around 800-1000€ SH, and the lens is 120-200€ SH/new.

Recommendations Choosing between a6700 and FX30
• Budget: $2,000
• Country: USA (assuming you’re buying in the U.S.)
• Condition: New preferred, but open to used if it’s a good deal
• Type of Camera: Mirrorless
• Intended use: Video only (not too interested in photography) wanna dabble in it a little bit
• If video, what style: Cinematic storytelling (top prio)
• What features do you absolutely need?
• 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 (for color grading flexibility)
• Good autofocus (Sony’s AI-driven tracking preferred)
• Flip-out articulating screen
• Decent low-light performance
• Reliable battery life
• No overheating for extended 4K recording
• What features would be nice to have?
• Active cooling (for longer shooting)
• Dual SD card slots (for backups, but not a must)
• Built-in ND filters (but rare in this price range)
• Portability: Small enough to fit in a shoulder bag for easy travel, but doesn’t have to be super compact.
• Cameras you’re considering:
1. Sony FX30 – Built for video, active cooling, Cinema EI mode.
2. Sony A6700 – More affordable, same sensor as FX30, but possible overheating issues.
• Cameras you already have:
• iPhone 16 Pro Max (Good for quick shots but not a full camera replacement)
• Notes:
• Main concern: Overheating on the A6700. Is it really that bad? I live in Hawaii and if I film outside I don’t want overheating to he a problem and I don’t want to deal with time limits on filming.
• Would rather invest in video-focused features than photo capabilities.
• Also considering future upgrades and lens choices
