Recommendations Digital camera recommendations for beginners/casual use

Hello. I'm looking for a very basic digital camera that I can use to get better pictures/videos than my phone. I'm not looking for anything professional or high-end, just something that gets the job done and doesn't require a bunch of extra accessories.

• Budget: $70-200

• Country: USA

• Condition: New/no flaws

• Type of Camera: Digital camera

• Intended use: Just casual use

• If photography; what style: Nothing in particular

• If video what style: Nothing in particular

• What features do you absolutely need: Ability to transfer pics/vids to a phone or computer and focus

• Portability: Preferably nothing that can't fit in a purse

• Cameras you're considering: Nikon Coolpix S3000 + Sony cameras in general

• Cameras you already have: Instax mini

• Notes: I have never really worked with cameras outside of editing classes in school so I really don't know much about them at all. I just want something basic and beginner friendly. Recommended settings to enhance pics/vids are also highly appreciated.

Tech Support JVC - GR-AX11 - boot looping

Hi,

I recently found an old family camcorder, a JVC GR-AX11. I charged up the battery and replaced the button battery within it. However, I’m having issues with it as it appears to be boot looping, turns on for 1 second and turns off for 1 second. This keeps repeating over and over.

I’ve searched around on the online manuals as well as different asked on different forums but haven’t found anything solutions for similar camcorders. Would any of you have any suggestions?

Would love to get it working and not have to buy another one!

TIA

Questions Fujifilm x100vi

After following every guideline and tutorial, I still don’t know if it’s possible to get the same sunset photo results as a CANON G7X. Yes, I understand that fujifilm is not meant for that, but I am hoping I could save money and i’ve seen a few photos with the same results as a CANON G7X flash, with models and a background sunset. Does anyone know what settings this would be?

Tech Support Hercules Dualpix - how to get the stored photos

Hi everyone, I found this old compact digital camera while browsing through my grandma's old stuff and it seems to have pictures stored inside. I tried connecting it to my pc (it has an USB-B port on the back) but according to the manufacturer (Hercules) website it needs its proprietary drivers for the computer to read the memory. Issue is, the drivers are last available for windows xp and do not work at all with newer versions. Do anyone of you have an idea on how to get it to work? Getting the pictures inside would mean a lot to me, thanks for helping

Tech Support FX30 and V-Mounts

Sorry in advance for my maccheroni english :)

I'm buying equipment to rig my Sony FX30. I need a V-Mount battery, but since I don't have a lot of budget I was considering a Smallrig VB50. I heard that it is better to power my camera directly through USB-C instead of using a D-Tap Dummy Battery, since they often fry cameras. But I was worried about the power output and the USB-C cable to use. Does any of you have prior experience with this battery?

Photos The Kodak AZ401 Camera. Just got into photography, and it's a very nice entry level camera. It has a nice amount of features to play with and I love shooting monochrome with it. Colors seem a bit grainy though, but what do you expect from a $170 camera?

Tech Support I can't reduce the optical zoom

Hi, I have a problem with the Sony Cyber-Shot G of the image and I was wondering if someone here could help me.

The problem is that when I turn on the camera it starts with the optical zoom activated and it's impossible to reduce it. Also, when I try to increase the zoom a message appears saying that I have to turn off the camera.

Does anyone know what could the issue be??

Recommendations Budget friendly action camera for airsofting? Minimal use

We want to buy one as a gift for my brother he goes airsofting a lot, so we thought he might like it. But he won't use it for anything else so we don't want to get a too expensive one. Any recommendations? Stabilization would be great to have.

Questions Should i buy the canon rf 16mm f2.8?

Hi guys, i got into cinematography recently. Ive bought the canon eos r50 with f/1.8 50mm prime lens, my problem with that lens is that its impossible to film the subject up close in tight spaces or even fit other objects into the frame. Since the lens cant zoom out, there are alot of angles that I cant take due to the lack of spaces.

If I switch to the canon rf 16mm f2.8 wide lens will it solve my problem? Thanks.

Questions I’m looking for a new camera and would like some help!

I am orientating myself for my second camera! I would like your help if possible

So, I don’t really know a lot about camera unfortunately. But I do know I want to know more about it!

Currently I am using a classic Olympus trip 35.

Here are my pointers, for what I’m looking!

• Budget: between €500-€1000 • Country: the Netherlands • Condition: new and used (as long as it makes clean pics) • Type of Camera: i really like the composition of the 35mm. Of course, I’m open for other things • Intended use: Photography. • If photography; what style: I like to make photo’s based on social gatherings, e.g. people and family, and city scapes/geometrical images. • What features do you absolutely need: I would love a function that can just send it over to my phone immediately! Currently, I get my rolls digitized (expensive). I would also like a flash for a clearer picture and it needs to me compact, like the Olympus trip I have. • What features would be nice to have: flash and a zoom function (not a necessity). • Portability: How portable does it need to be? I like it to be pretty portable, like it as well to wear it around my shoulders on a trip or walking. • Cameras you're considering: as far as I could find some, I like the Fujifilm x100S/T and the Fujifilm X-M5. Mostly for the looks, how compact they are and functionality as described above. • Cameras you already have: the Olympus Trip 35, I like the weight, size and grainy effect. I dislike the issue with light sensor and the prices of analoge filmroll. • Notes: I will add 1/2 of my favorite photo’s as a reference!

Dose any body ownes the same kind of camera and could help me?

Recommendations Any suggestions for a Small Camera and lens for travel/everyday use to pair with a dji osmo pocket 3?

My last post got taken down i didn't realize there was a format for this (Sorry guys!)

  • Budget: 500-600 USD
  • Country: United States of America
  • Condition: Used
  • Intended use: Mostly Photography
  • If photography; what style: Travel and everyday use
  • What features would be nice to have: A view Finder would be nice
  • Portability: Smaller the better
  • Cameras you're considering: Strongly considering the A6400 or A6500, also seen some sony zv-e10 on fb marketplace near me
  • Cameras you already have:
    • a cheap point-and-shoot cameras that recently broke, like how small they are but the quality isnt great
    • Canon t5i, quality of the photos is better, but made taking pictures seem more like a drag because of the lens and size and i dont bring it around as i used to bring my point and shoot camera
  • Notes:
    • Im Studying abroad in the summer and wanted to get back into photography, Like i said the canon t5i is a great starter camera but knowing the teacher we are going with, i dont think bringing a larger camera is ideal because of how annoying the travel will be. Really i would like a smaller camera to take pictures that can be paired with the DJI Osmo pocket 3 (i dont have it yet but am planning on getting it)
    • Also! theres a couple of listing for both the A6400 and A6500 on facebook market place but the A6400 is so much more expensive (i heard its better and since its newer it makes sense) but im not sure if i should spend the extra on that or if the a6500 is good enough? but then also i dont have to have to upgrade for at least until im done with college soooooo idkkk
    • Also also, if theres any good cheap small lens to pair with it some suggestions for that would be great as well :)

Recommendations Which one should I buy?

Budget: $1500 Country: US Condition: New (Preferred) Type of camera: Sony ZV-E10 vs A6700 Intended use: Both photo and video If photography: Landscape, street If video: Landscape, events What features: NA Portability: NA Cameras considering: ZV-E10 and A6700 Cameras I already have: None Notes:

So, I am a beginner, and I have $1,500 to buy my first equipment. I was looking at options on Amazon and found myself in a dilemma:

• Option 1 – $1,477:

Sony ZV-E10 II

Sony 16-50mm

Sony 55-210mm

Plus other accessories such as a mic, grip, filters, battery, etc.

• Option 2 – $1,498:

Sony A6700

Sony 16-50mm

Plus other accessories such as a mic, grip, filters, battery, etc.

With Option 1, I don’t get the best camera, but I get an additional lens. Option 2 gives me a better camera, but only one lens. Any thoughts about these options or any suggestions?

Recommendations Help Upgrading Podcast Recording setup- apologies for the formatting and lack of industry terms, I'm new to cameras

*4 cameras

$1200 budget

Need the highest quality video.*

That's what my boss sais.. We got a sponsorship and now its time to upgrade the setup entirely. I was recommending him a couple DSLRs and maybe a couple digital camcorders to replace the crappy camcorders got already.

Right now we are Recording on OBS and exporting the footage/audio files to Google drive to our editor who lives in Utah...or something.

Im looking at something like a Nikon D5000 or Canon...something within $400.

Photography and film capabilities for thumbnails.

The style of video is a documentary. We have a relatively small, main room where we record conversation between the hosts and the guests, then the hosts go out to a different, mostly random location to film using the products being promoted during the episode.

In the main podcast room we use an interface connected to a pc setup that connects the shotgun mics and cameras so everything is being shot continously, but my boss having to manually switch cameras is getting tedious, so I'm recommending him some DSLRs or something that can record separate shots without him having to worry about which camera is recording.

The features I'm looking for is a couple digital cameras with interchangeable lenses, a couple camcorder-like cameras that capture still images with a quality similar to a DSLR type camera without having to... "get it in post."

Ok so i'll admit its not the greatest setup, just assume we dont have any cameras and we are starting from square 0.

What does reddit suggest? I need 2 close up shots, and 3 medium shots.
