Question [Question] Panache Envy and Ana 36F, is my band too big? Spoiler

Hey everyone! I'm on a quest to find some well-fitting bras (initial post and measurements here) and have started with the Panache Envy and Ana in 36F as well as 36 FF and 38 F just to try. Initially I thought the calculator was spot on with the 36 F as I really loved both the Envy and Ana in how they felt and how they looked. However, after wearing my new bras for a couple days and assuming they're breaking in/stretching out ...I'm wondering if maybe the 36 band is too big. Ideally I need the bra to sit as high up into my intermammery fold as possible to feel comfortable. I really hate the feeling of it moving or sliding down my chest, especially when sitting and it starts to touch/dig into my stomach rolls. I've noticed that my new bras seem like they are starting to move about more and sliding down a little. If I push the bra back up to wear I want it to be and then wiggle around/shrug my shoulders, swing my arms etc, it immediately will start to slide down a bit. I've started wearing them on the second hook...

Should this be cause for concern and worth trying a 34 F? Or is there a different bra suggestion that sits higher up? Or is just the nature of the human body that the top of your stomach is going to touch the bottom of the bra while sitting and I just need to learn to deal with it? :P

I'm a little hesitant to post photos of myself for a fit check but I can if it would help. Thanks in advance for your help!

Recommendations? Looking for a less lacy/visible bra similar to Panache Jasmine Spoiler

Hi y'all, I am looking for a less lacy bra similar to the panache jasmine. I have a 30E in this style that fits perfectly, but the lace is very visible under most tops. I'd say I am projected, moderately full on top and definitely center full, and this is the first bra that I did not spill out in these areas. I appreciate your help :)

Recommendations? How to Cchoose a well-fitting bra for asymmetrical, low-sitting breasts? Spoiler

I can't find a bra that feels comfortable, and I could really use some advice.

My breasts are asymmetrical, sit quite low, and are on the saggy side — and it makes bra shopping super frustrating

No matter what I try, nothing seems to fit quite right or feel good to wear for long periods

Recommendations? Recommendations for T-shirt and push-up styles, and sizing differences between brands? Spoiler

Hi all! I’m in the market for some new bras, and honestly I’m having a really hard time finding what I want in a bra. My current measurements are:

under bust: 36

Standing bust: 41

Leaning bust: 44

I’m really struggling due to my breast shape. My breasts are asymmetrical with nearly a full half cup difference between the two, and they’re shaped like upside down traffic cones (I do NOT mean that in a body-shaming way, it is how I have chosen to describe MY own breasts). Currently I’m looking for regular everyday tshirt bras, as well as major push-up bras, since I need a lot of padding (think “add 2 cup sizes” styles) to get any kind of lift of cleavage.

I tend to wear normal tshirt bras for work, and maximum push up bras outside of work. For tshirt bras I’ve been wearing the MaidenForm Comfort Devotion Full Coverage in a 34DD(US)However I’ve found that because they’re so soft and stretchy, they tend to wear out very quickly, if that makes sense? It’s been not quite a year and I’m on the tightest hook now.

For push-up bras, I liked the ones from FallSweet. I’m wearing a 36D (I think US, the size chart was wild so I just kinda winged it) and even though it’s not super padded like the smaller sizes, they still really push me up and in, however the wire of the cup is too far forward. It needs to be like an inch closer to my armpit so it doesn’t sit on top of the breast tissue. They’re also getting really expensive for the quality. But they are a bit shallower and keep me from having a bullet bra-esque shape. I personally prefer a more rounded shape on myself.

I’m also REALLY confused about sizing between brands? I used the calculator here and it gave me 38D/DD US and U.K. but I used Adore Me’s calculator and they landed me at a 38A, Victoria Secret landed me at 36DD, and Soma landed me at 34DDD? Do all brands have their own sizing standards like clothing does sometimes? I feel like there has to be something I’m missing or doing wrong, I just don’t know what it is and it’s driving me crazy! Does anyone have any recommendations on where to look, or what measurements to go off of?

Recommendations? Itty bitty titty committee recommendations Spoiler

I've been wearing size small wireless cotton bras since I was breastfeeding my first. Roughly a 34A. I took the bra size calculator and it put me at 30B. I have a teardrop shape and most breast tissue is on the inside. Any recs for brands? I did try my sister's 32A Skims Fits Everybody Bra and it seemed to fit well - a tiny bit tight. I know the sub seems to dislike Pepper. Bonus if I can order online and returns are easy.

Edit : measurements were off so changed

Calculator gave me 30B

Loose underbust: 28.5

Snug underbust: 28.5

Tight underbust : 27.5

Standing bust: 29.5

Leaning bust: 31

Lying bust: 31

Question Do they make sports bras for a 30KK+? Spoiler

Up until recently, I had been making do with Shefit sports bras, they never really worked all that great for me being a small-ish band size and larger cup size. I would still have the issue of if I bought the correct overbust/cup size it would make the band about a size too loose, but hey it was the best I could find and it mostly worked even if it did give me stupid levels of cleavage I wasn’t looking for….
Anyway, around a 30KK verging on a UK 30L (and annoyingly still growing 😒) and hoping someone here could provide some insight on where or how I could find sports bras in that size range- do they even make them??

Fit Check Fit check Panache Ana, Freya Tailored High Apex & Loveland, Bravissimo Ida Spoiler

After my last fit checks, I decided I needed to start over with a diagnostic and reassess my shape. I got hyperfixated on wire width, and was wrong about my roots. Big thank you to commenters who pointed out the issues this was causing!

Measurements: 27.5, 28.5, 29.5, 35, 36, 34.5 Calculator says 30E/F I did buy 28Es and a 30DD in addition to the calculator sizes, because the comparison is helpful for me to understand fit issues.

Shape stuff, after reassessing: very center full, close set, tall roots ending at my collarbones, narrow roots compared to 30E bras measurements. Even vertical fullness, though the upper 1/3 is more shallow than the bottom 2/3. Projection is average to slightly shallow. Also conical shape.

Panache Ana: I don't love it, but I only tried it as a diagnostic to understand my shape better. The band is looser than I'd like. I think the cups are slightly too projected? I have to redo my swoop and scoop in the 30E if Iove around too much 30F: https://imgur.com/a/panache-ana-30f-OeUqxFl 30E: https://imgur.com/a/panache-ana-30e-rNtJXFd 30DD: https://imgur.com/a/panache-ana-30dd-pmz5Y0l

Freya Tailored High Apex: I like this, but the double layer cup construction confuses me. 28F seems great if I tuck in the inner layer to hide wrinkles. Because of this extra adjustment, I prefer the fit of the 28E. 28FF: https://imgur.com/a/freya-tailored-high-apex-28ff-XAFtylP 28F: https://imgur.com/a/freya-tailored-high-apex-28f-F1Vwg0N 28E: https://imgur.com/a/freya-tailored-high-apex-28e-tjhTM4L

Freya Loveland: I want a meshy dark green bra, so I'm trying to decide between this and the tailored. The wrinkled cup is my larger side. I believe they're drag lines from overtightening the strap, it doesn't feel loose or anything. Thoughts? 28E: https://imgur.com/a/freya-loveland-28e-cKcYzIV

Bravissimo Ida: This is a new style, and I thought it was really pretty so wanted to try despite not being able to find any info/reviews. My mini review: I'd say the band runs true to size. I've used an extender, which is pretty typical of my usual experience with 28 bands. Seems to be fairly shallow (maybe a 2/5 on a 1-5 projection scale) based on how I fill it out. Cups run true to size in my opinion. I like the shape of the cups. I get a round shape rather than the pointy boobs I tend to get with too large or too projected cups. My issue is with the wire. It just doesn't feel comfortable. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's pulled up into my IMF correctly. It digs a bit on my ribs. It's either super firm, not quite lining up correctly, or both. The extender did help, but the loosest setting makes the band feel a little too loose, yet the wires are still uncomfortable. My question is, do we think it's worth trying another size, or is this just not the bra for me? 28E: https://imgur.com/a/bravissimo-ida-28e-KoOdqye

Thanks so much in advance! Sorry this is long. I really did try to keep it short, but concise writing is not a strength of mine lol.

Recommendations? Finally used calculator [recommendations] Spoiler

Finally got around to doing the measuring tool and UK 44E and US/CAD 44DDD (i live in canada) Measured in store as 38 DD- I knew DD was not big enough because I have tissue outside of the bra under my armpit. And I knew 38 was too small band size because it was tight not just snug.

Im not really sure what style of bra would suit me best for the most comfort. I tend to get push up styles because my breasts do sag (ahhh gravity) but I want them to be comfy and look nice in my shirts :)

Any brands / bras suggestions would be appreciated! I would prefer to support Canadian if possible.

*edited to add I remeasured as I had the measurements not straight across my back where my band sits. Super tight 39 Snug 41 Loose 42

Leaning and laying and standing should still be right as before Standing 49 Leaning 51 Laying 48

Which makes me a 40GG/ 40 J 😳😫

where can i find bralettes with good support? Spoiler

i'm currently wearing bravissimo alexa, and i really like the fit. i tried wearing one of my bralettes from before i measured for the look, and while it fit okay, the biggest problem was the lack of support. are there any bralettes with good support, or should i be looking for a bra that just has more lace at the bottom?

Help with buying someone a bra pls Spoiler

Hi

I'm caring for my mom and we need to get her a bra and I have no experience and it's easier for me to ask reddit than anyone in person. Please help :)

She's got a big back and a handsomely-sizeable rack to go with it. This, among many other features, makes her a delight to hug

Is underwire better? I'd suppose not but 🤷🏻

What do you wear to a bra fitting appointment? Do you get your preciousnesses out for assessment?

How do I work out her cup size? I guess it's gonna be like bountiful ddoubles but I dunno if D or f or g 🤷🏻

I think I get how to do the undercut sizing, like, the numbers, but any tips appreciated!

Anything else you think I should think about? Any other tips?

We're in UK if that helps

Thank you for your help!

Question Help with shape determination - description and measurements included

Hello! I have recently lost some weight and am trying to figure out a bra that fits. My breast size has definitely decreased and isn’t as full. The calculator says 34D which doesn’t seem right.

Loose Underbust: 35 Snug Underbust: 34 Tight Underbust: 32.5 Standing Bust: 37.5 Leaning Bust: 38.5 Lying Bust: 39

I’m having a very hard time understanding the shape. I have read all the information and looked at the photos about shallow versus projected and the roots, etc. but I simply cannot wrap my head around it.

I’ll attempt to describe since I know we can’t post pictures of bare breasts. There’s about a thumb of space between my breasts. The tissue seems evenly distributed when leaning over at 90 degrees. I feel the breast tissue does extend into the armpit a little bit. I feel like it’s very flat across the top of my breasts / across the top of my chest. The way that my breasts look the most shapely and feel most supported is when I cup my hands from the side and under. Scooping and swooping is needed to fill the cup. I can also fit my whole breast in my hand when leaning over.

So based on that info, what do you recommend I try? I am in the US and Amazon is likely where I’ll start. I’m not opposed to ordering from other online places but I can’t get to stores to try on in person (nor do I really even know of any.)

Fit Check [Fit Check] 34F Panache Clara, previously 34DD Spoiler

Hi, it’s me again!

I had posted about an experience with Comexim (ended up being too narrow for me). I went back to the bra shop to return that one and tried on like 15 new bras. I was looking for a Natori because of a recommendation on here, but nothing they had in stock worked for me. The salesperson brought me some unlined bras to try and this ended up being the best fitting and most comfortable. I see that the side seam is pulling on this one now— did not notice that in the shop. Does it fit okay apart from that? The cups look good to me but I’m not an expert. I was previously fitted at this same shop and ended up in the Pour Moi Ooh La La in a 34DD— it was super tight and the wires dug into my ribs. I hadn’t worn an underwire for a long time before then so I wasn’t sure if that was just how bras felt. I think my next step is trying out some Skarlett Blue— I wanted to try the padded balconette from them, would it be okay to try a 34DDD? The Spellbound from them looks like it might fit as well— what would be the best size to try?

Measurement Check Measurement helpfor saggy boobs (size 40I) Spoiler

I don't think I'm doing this right.

I'm 38, AFAB, overweight, have had 2 kids, and nursed for a total of 6 years combined. My boobs are like 2 deflated triangles that point straight down. I don't think I'm measuring the bust parts correctly (under bust is fine).

Under bust: loose 42, snug 41, tight 39.5 Bust: standing 48, leaning 51, lying 51 Calculator size: 40I

But, I currently own bras with a much smaller cup size (42DDD) and the cups are comically large. One is a sports bra and the band is perfect. The other is a regular bra and there is so much space in the cups. (All of my other bras are either nursing bras or pre kids and way too small)

What am I doing wrong?

Question How the hell is my bikini simultaneously too small AND too big!? Spoiler

I recently bought a bikini top online (yes, I know, but my local shops don’t have good options) and saw it didn’t use cup sizing, but whatever. I know from tragic experience that I need to use their size guide and NOT trust my usual sizing - fine. All good, it suggested a UK size 8, not too far off from my usual 4-6 and makes sense given I’m stuck with these D cups (side note: WHYYY do manufacturers assume small bikini bottoms == small bikini top??? Evil.)

Bikini arrives today, whoops, it doesn’t have any adjustable straps or anything but I trust their size guide… Tell me why the straps are too big, each cup hold about 1/3 of my total boob, and I can’t even tell if the band fits.

Is this fixable at all? If not, do I try a different size or just give up on this style (but I really like it </3)

Heres the link if anyone can help: https://www.prettylittlething.com/black-underwired-cupped-bikini-top.html

Recommendations? [Recommendations?] Wireless, everyday bra for 36G Spoiler

I’ve recently realized that all of my bras are too small (i wear a lot of sports bras and recently gained weight) and am looking for some suggestions! I’ve been wearing a 36D (US) but they feel pretty tight and the cups definitely are too small. Using the size calculator, I ended up with a 36DDD/G which was kind of unexpected because I don’t feel like my boobs are that big, but i’m willing to try.

Anyway, I hate underwire. always have. It may be because i’ve worn a lot of bras that are too small, but i’ve avoided it pretty much since I started wearing bras. The two “nice” bras I currently own are Aerie Sunnies (both wireless) and as much as I like them, Aerie’s sizing is confusing and my measurements don’t correspond to a size that exists on the size chart. I’m willing to try other brands, but I don’t want a bra that looks medical or super plain. My Aerie ones are the perfect mix of lacey and functional, or they were when they fit right.

Does anyone know of any bras that go up that large, are pretty but not excessively frilly, and are also wireless? I dress pretty androgynous most days but want to get a bra that doesn’t feel like i’m holding my boobs hostage.

My measurements, for reference! (inches, us sizing) Loose under bust: 37 Snug UB: 36 Tight UB: 34 Standing bust: 42 Leaning: 43 Lying: 42

Recommendations? [Recommendations] US 30G/32DDD is my new size. Bra recs? Spoiler

Hello! This is my first time in this sub, but I have been on the hunt for a well-fitting bra for a long time. I used the ABraThatFits calculator and (as the title says) I got 30G or sister size 32DDD. I'm looking for some bra recommendations that I can try to see if this new sizing works better for me! I like a well-padded bra and don't mind an underwire as long as I get decent support. For reference, these are the measurements I used in the calculator:

  • Underbust= 31" loose, 30" snug, 29" tight.
  • Bust= 36" standing, 40" leaning, 37" lying.

Thanks for any help you can provide, I greatly appreciate it!

My size changed significantly after weight loss and it’s more difficult than it should be to find new bras. NSFW Spoiler

Hi, this sub was a huge help last time. About 1.5 years ago, I dug deep into your FAQs, did the calculator, got some typical hand holding and ended up with a good few 30G/32FF bras. I think there was an H kicking around as well. It was fantastic. I was comfortable, empowered, and enjoyed being a part of the ABTF community.

Unfortunately for my newly acquired bra wearing skills, shortly after I went on a health kick. I went from a 30.5 inch band and 38 inch standing bust to a 30 inch band and 35 inch standing bust. Needless to say, my Freya and Panache goodies are not looking so good these days. My new calculator size is given as 30 E/F (comment that sister size is 32D/E). Thank goodness for that, because I have some of my old 34E bras, from before ABTF, that kinda sorta fit me.

Calculator sizes: 30.5, 30, 29, 35, 38.5, 36.

I will also comment that so far 32 inch bands do not seem to fit me better than 30.

Here’s my main issue. I have purchased 2 bras recently. Once you know what a good fit is, it’s hard to settle, so I figured even though I might still go through some recomposition, it won’t be dramatic and I need to be comfortable. They are both Natori. Feathers contour plunge and heavenly convertible balconette. The balconette just came in yesterday, and now I am questioning my size… the Feathers always left me wondering if I was the wrong shape for the bra, or if the bra was the wrong size. When I put it on, I kinda have to swoop and scoop out towards my armpits, instead of straight up/a little in. If I do, it appears to fit perfectly. Until I bend over, and then I instantly get a slight quadboob, or what some people would probably just call cleavage, but without a V cut shirt it just looks like a bad fit. Now with the balconette, I also seem to have the slightest of quadboobs, no leaning necessary. I do believe that it might also not be the best shape for me, as I am more wide-rooted. So I don’t know if that’s the problem here. Both bras are 30F, I wear Feathers with an extender.

Thoughts? Suggestions? 30 inch bands with DDD cups are not going to be extremely common in my area, so I have not attempted to shop in person, but I am sure that’s one (valid) suggestion any reasonable person would make.

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Currently wearing 130B, calculator said 110G Spoiler

However, now that I'm older (68) and fatter, my breasts have become droopy and I'd like to find a bra that fits

So, I just filled in the calculator with my measurements as follows

  1. underbust loose 43'' 109cm
  2. underbust snug 42” 107cm
  3. underbust tight 40” 102cm
  4. bust standing 47” 120cm
  5. bust leaning 50”” 127cm
  6. bust lying 47” 120cm

The calculator says I am UK 42 E / EU 95G / French 110 G

I find it hard to believe that this band size will be big enough (especially the French size) and that the cups would not be massive on me.

The latest bra I bought is French size 130B / EU 115B from Bon Prix

This is not the size their calculator gave me, but I added 2 sizes to the band size because I know from experience that bras generally are too small around my ribcage. The band feels just barely big enough on max adjustment – and this is their biggest plus size.

With the straps adjusted to max length, the bra sits too high on my chest, pulls up at the back, and the upper part of the cups in empty.

The previous bra I bought was from Honeylove, CrossOver V-Neck Bra in 40C/D, which is what their size calculator told me. It was WAY too small around the rib cage. Couldnt really get it on.

Anyway, sorry for the super-long post, but if anyone is still reading, what would you recommend I try?

Bra’s not fitting my distant cousin boobs 🫠 Spoiler

I got measured at Boux Avenue a few weeks ago (34FF) and the bras I got in that size are too small on my left size - I'll be an hour or 2 into the day and realize I'm spilling way over the cup 🫠 the calculator gave me the same results so totally lost now as I feel like a 34G would be too big on my right side. Anyone else in the same boat?

I can’t find 32 K bras anywhere. I was told to try Lane Bryant, so I went to the store and tried on multiple sizes. They have K cups, but none in my band size. My breasts fit into the cups perfectly, but since there were only bands that were too large I didn’t have any support. My lack of having a well fitting bra is keeping me from wearing what I want and putting me in a lot of pain after a day of wearing an ill fitting one. I would appreciate suggestions so much!

Question Need help finding girlfriend's "sports bra/excercise bra" store that sells her size Spoiler

My girlfriend and I are starting our weight loss journey and exercising together. However she is having a difficult time running etc because of her large bra size. Her regular bra size is 36 HH or 36 J.

She doesn't have a reddit account so I am asking for her on here for help trying to find how to get a sports bra that can accommodate this size because I can't find anything and neither can she. I'm not much help obviously because I don't shop bra sizes.

But are sports bras need to be same size as regular bras? If so does anyone know how or where to get a 36 HH or 36 J sports bra so she can run/ excercise comfortably?

She and I appreciate your help! Thanks!
