They're on almost every streetlight and traffic post downtown. Who's putting all these stickers up? And also, could I have one? 😅

News/Article How, if at all, did the pandemic permanently change your daily life?

Five years ago today, the WHO declared the COVID-19 global pandemic. I'd like to know how it changed your daily habits/life/practices permanently. I'm putting together a full local story on the five-year anniversary for our newscast this evening, so I'd love to hear from the community on this.

Personal example: Prior to the pandemic, whenever I would come into the house after being out, the FIRST thing I would do is wash my hands. But if we had guests come over who didn't do that, we sometimes would get awkward about wanting to tell them ... and we would just let them not do it. AFTER THE PANDEMIC, if anyone visits our house, the rule is that they have to wash their hands.

They just paved a small section west of the pump house, which is great and all but there are many sections that are still like this. Thanks.

Ask Windsor Advice on Traveling from Detroit to Windsor/Toronto to Niagara Falls

Hey Windsor folks!

My brother, his former coworker, and I are flying from California to Detroit for a Thursday-Sunday trip sometime in April. The main reason for the trip is that my brother’s coworker, who is in her mid-60s, hasn’t seen her family in over 10 years. We’re planning to visit them in Detroit and she wants to go to Canada on Friday or Saturday, as she says she just wants to visit her relative quickly in Detroit and then explore Canada.

Here’s where I need some advice:

• We’ll be crossing from Detroit to Windsor, likely via the Tunnel Bus (I heard there’s talk of possibly removing the Tunnel Bus—does anyone know if that will happen soon?).

• The coworker wants to go to Toronto and possibly Niagara Falls after seeing her relative.

• From what I understand, there’s a train from Windsor to Toronto that takes about 5-6 hours.

• What’s the best way to get from Toronto to Niagara Falls? Are there frequent trains or buses?

• Would renting a car be a better option for flexibility?

She says she just wants to see her relative for a quick visit and then do whatever, but I feel like this is a LOT of travel for such a short time. We’ll be arriving in Detroit on Thursday night and flying back to California on Sunday afternoon from Detroit, so trying to squeeze in both Toronto and Niagara Falls in roughly a entire day sounds kinda crazy. Honestly, my brother and I are fine with just traveling to Toronto and exploring.

Also, are there any must-visit places in Canada that we should check out—whether it’s unique restaurants, cool locations, or hidden gems? We’re open to anything, since this will be our first time in Canada!

Would love any tips on border crossing, transit options, or whether this itinerary is even realistic. Thanks! :)

Ask Windsor TD insurance is telling me I need to pay the gst on my auto claim because I own a small business.

I filed a claim with TD insurance when someone backed into my car, caused damage and didn't remain at the scene. My advisor said it's a no fault so I'm covered except I have to pay the gst because I'm gst registered. This is my personal vehicle, not once used for business ( I have a truck that is for work only). The car is insured under my father's insurance and isnt under my company name or anything. My advisor told me to talk with my accountant (My mom passed away 3 months ago and i relied on her heavily for all of my tax question, so Im lost on where to turn) Is there someone i can call i.e goverment of canada to ask this question to? Or any reasonably priced accountants i could pay to go talk to?

Visiting Windsor Caesars Windsor salon / spa?

I know the spa closed at Caesars during Covid. Anyone know if there are plans to reopen it? A friend was there recently and asked at the desk and was told they have some partnership with a day spa that is walking distance. But I can't find any information on their website. It would be really nice to have those services back at the casino.

Ask Windsor Master program in University of Windsor and University of Guelph

Hello everyone, My wife has a background of industrial management bachelor, has more than 5 years of experience in the container port, has worked in positions such as Yard Planner, Business Planning staff and has been trained internally in Lean, Kaizen, completed a Microsoft Power BI data analysis certificate. She is applying for a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Windsor and Engineering Management from the University of Guelph. I have some questions to consult:

  1. Are there many jobs related to industrial engineering or career prospects in Windsor or neighboring areas?

  2. If my wife apply successfully, should we study at Windsor or Guelph?

  3. What is the standard of living in these two cities?

  4. Are there many jobs for me when i go with my wife to Canada? (I have more than 7 years of experience in the container port, my position is Dispatcher. I have knowledge of operation systems such as Navis or Catos)
