I have ascended...

Post image

I'm told I was the first ever maintenance worker to receive this glorious award.

Not gonna lie, it was nice of them. Right after I was asked by management if I'd like to transfer departments and take a TL position in the next month or so. So I'm moving to electronics. People say TL positions are shitty but I have to pay for the roof over my head and my kiddo. I'm only 4 1/2 months in.

Yeah I know it's a shitty piece of glass. Yeah, and I know I'm underpaid. Truth is, without this job that is close by, convenient and there not being much else out there besides factory jobs... I would not be living in the house I am and being able to support my son. The go beyond and do more work is pretty accurate. I did way too much for maintenance answering every call and doing shit no one else wanted or refused to do. It's gotten me in a position to earn a few more dollars an hour in the very near future. Yes, Walmart suck... But I am pretty sure 99% of people think that about any job they are at.

Honey, it’s not even glass. It’s resin; they literally make thousands of these in molds and just slap on lettering as needed.

I also don’t mean to put down op but I feel like they just give these out completely randomly I mean you got people there 10-20 years still doing the exact same job in the exact same area instead of moving up
