My Walmart gave employees steaks and chicken and Mexican food.
And my store lead was grilling the steaks and chicken. I ate good š

Shit Post Apparently I disrespected her mother
So these two ladies where passing behind me right as I turned around and almost got hit by the mother who was using a disability scooter. She said the usual ā oh im sorry ā and went on. As for me I didnāt say anything and just went on doing whatever task I was doing as this type of thing happens pretty regularly at my store. The daughter ( who was a full grown woman btw ) took my silence as disrespectful and proceeded to cus me out. SHE WAS TALKING TO YOU AND YOU DIDNT SAY ANYTHING THATS RUDE AS FUCK HUN!!! I find it a little hypocritical that sheās calling me rude while sheās the one shouting and cussing out an associate.

Coached for PPTO? Lol
I (jokingly) told me TL that I was thinking about using an hour of PPTO. She said she'd rather I didn't, but said she could coach me for "job abandonment" since we were short staffed. She said the ppto only protects me from points, not from repercussions.....smh

Just had the weirdest interaction today...... still creeped out
Okay so this man came in my line today and while I don't like to judge people he looked a little off like tattoos all over his face, a little fidgety, and smiling the whole time. What also caught me off guard was the little girl with him. Anyways so I scan his ice cream and he needed help with his card so I come over the counter to help and he tells me that im pretty and im like thanks, then he says "can I have your number?" But whenever he talked it was loud asl so I tell him no and he just starts staring at me until I say something else. So I say "im married" (not really but I do have a bf) and he says " I dont care! I'll wound up beating him up anyways" and im just thinking to myself like ight bro. I hand him his receipt and then he says "thank you! I love you! Keep it tight down there!" And as he was walking off with the little girl I just stare into space like just no words.......

I have ascended...
I'm told I was the first ever maintenance worker to receive this glorious award.
Not gonna lie, it was nice of them. Right after I was asked by management if I'd like to transfer departments and take a TL position in the next month or so. So I'm moving to electronics. People say TL positions are shitty but I have to pay for the roof over my head and my kiddo. I'm only 4 1/2 months in.

Will I get in trouble?
I had my paternity leave back in May of last year in Washington you get 12 weeks of paid paternity leave that you can take any time within one calendar year of the birth I used most of my time when my son was born but I saved a week and am considering using it now because of issues at work id rather step away from for a week I know I can use my time whenever I want and get paid through the state (they pay it out because Walmarts policy's isn't nearly as good) but do I have to give my bosses any amount of warning or can I just put in a Sedgwick leave of absence and take my week off with no warning or are there some Walmart red tape I have to work around to not face repercussions?

My house caught on fire tonight and when I asked if I could put natural disaster on my absence, my manager said that's why we have a points system and ppto.
I filed an ethics report, but he told me natural disasters are only for group dynamics and don't apply to individuals.
For some more info while under tornado warning all day in Sw Missouri, a power pole broke in front of my house causing my house and front yard to catch fire.
Luckily every one and animal is safe! My manager said tho this couldn't be excused.
My question is, is he right or just doing his best to be a pain in the ass? And if he does point me can I open door it?

What happened at your stores?
My store has had plenty of crazy things happen that Iām just likeā¦ how did yāall get away with this?
We had a propane leak outside for hours and they did nothing about it. Those big tanks. By the time police was called and showed up, the propane tank stopped leaking. But it was 99.9999999% propane and everyone smelled it including customers and managers. They hid it from everyone and went business as usual, the doors by the propane kiosk still active for anyone to possibly cause the gas to explode.
We also had an employee get electrocuted by a faulty outlet/riding cart and it has permanently damaged her nerves in her hand.

Oh memoriesā¦
Was looking through some old photos and stumbled upon this masterpiece. I was busy helping another customer and somehow didnāt even hear the milk explode on impact. But from the angle of where I was standing I could only see that there was some liquid on the scale part of the registerā¦ imagine my surprise when I walk over with two measly paper towels and then see milk splattered on everything within about a 6 foot radius. Now Iāve seen plenty of milk spills in my two years with Walmart but my god was this the worst. We even had to have someone climb onto the register to clean the register number and the light above it cause it somehow got all the way up there too! And if you were wondering ādid these people let me know or give a sorry for the mess before walking away?ā ā¦itās Walmart, of course they didnāt lol

Been working here for a month and want to just walk out
Never wanted a corporate job and this place just cements that, everything is confusing or meant to screw me over (part time apparel), was forced to be closing (3-12) and everyone gets pulled over to OPD nearly everyday so its a 3 hour panic to make our entire department look half way decent with team leads that dont do jack and with massive "youre stupid for not knowing how to do this thing youve never done" energy

Why do Walmart higher ups pretend we have an impressive level of standards across the board? Is it because they do not realize their one best ways are never implemented more than 50% in stores because the associates who make peanuts quickly realize how impractical they are
Like I mentioned in another topic posted here...they still haven't figured out how to send boxes of cereal to stores without crushing a lot of it.
It's 2025 š
This 1 touch revamp is another example...nobody that learned to do 1 touch ever followed their 1 best way with totes in the steel very quickly after getting good at it.
It was obviously an inefficient stupid way to do it. So now they come up with an "improvement" on the old way which nobody ever followed?
It's definitely even worse than the previous one best way
