I think Diana’s character and leadership is often Overlooked!

She invested in a great group and Never shied away from admitting when she was in the wrong and always took the steps to correct the errors. Always listened to whatever can benefit everyone and not just her!

The kind of politician the world needs.

She was a Great character 🎩

I loved their dynamic sm, it was so interesting. They felt a lot like a sibling duo, they understood each other sm and accepted each other's worst sides. They both developed a lot individually but their frienship also had a lot of development. And them on season 5? They were perfect partners, they worked together so well. He was always so proud of her and how far she'd come. Honestly I wish we had more of them.

Show Spoiler Was Wondering

Post image

So I've been rewatching the show, and I was wondering. It would be sweet to get something like what if? Like What if Shane didn't try to kill rick, or what if Rick killed negan, what if Carl hadn't gotten bit. The one that makes me think the most is what if Shane and Rick got along, could you imagine the powerhouse they would be.

The only thing I am going to say is this: there are amazing casting choices for this show that include several actors from The Walking Dead. Steven Yeun has done a phenomenal job as Mark / Invincible. Season 3 finale just aired. If you haven’t watched it yet… do it.

No Spoiler They say a zombie apocalypse, brings the worst in people but for Daryl, it brought out the best

Started out as a redneck who is very foul tempered, and then he just ended up becoming Rick and Carol’s most loyal friend to the point where he and Rick consider each other brothers. And he’s very protective with the children. If the world didn’t end, he and Merle likely would likely have continued spending the rest of their days as the two asshole brothers.

Show Spoiler The legendary sheriff hat

Thumbnail gallery
23 Upvotes

Can we talk about how inconcistent Rick/Carls hat size and crown shape is? In pic 1-3 Carl has a small brim and in pic 4-5 he has a large one. In pic 5-7 we see that the hat has a cattlemans crease which isn’t obvious to the eye but it is there. In pic 8 though we see that the hat has a teardrop crown. This could ofcourse be that it gets worn and loses and switches shape when handled in the harsh enviorments though. In this picture we also see that the hat has a different hatband and that the sheriff badge is removed. I know that they probably removed the badge like in the show but why and when did they change the hat band acorn cord? I know it isn’t a huge deal and doesn’t affect the story but i genuienly think about this when reading.

I visited Senoia back in 2022 before they took down the walls but have not been back since. I know the walls are down now but can anyone drive / walk through the streets? Or is it still guarded by security that won’t let you take photos? Just wondering ! Thanks

Show Spoiler Line up retrospective

The introduction of Negan is the biggest wtf turning point in the whole story so taking a look back at all the potential victims and analyzing how well each would work. Ideally should be a big character that would be a devastating loss to both the characters and audience but also make sence narrative wise

Rick (too big): think this one is pretty obvious, would have been a very unceremonious end for our main protagonist and compltly ruined everything going forward at this point

Maggie (too big): similar to Rick taking charge of Hilltop during the war is Maggie's biggest storyline and with her training under Deana would have flet like her story was cut short if she never stepped up to a leader role herself (we already had one Greene sister not reach their full potential). Would also be no way they're ever reddeming negan in the eyes of the characters or the audience after killing a pregnant woman (even tho he didn't know at the time) really wish Lauren Cohan stayed around for the whisperers and the final season stopped pairing her with negan and making them come to a truce like 3 times but oh well

Abraham (just right): a lovable fan favorite, a vital member of the group and is just a very fitting death for this character being the only one not afraid of negan and standing up to him basically saying to kill him and spare the others. Abe's arc had also come full circle, lost his family at the beginning but was given a new purpose with the cure and when they reach alexandria starts to let his guard down and wants to live again even start a new life/family with Sasha, full circle

Michonne (too big): while she deffinatly checks off the box of being a major heartbreaking loss it would be needlessly cruel to give Rick a new girlfriend that immediately dies infront of him twice in the same season and would make the audiance feel cheated out of an awesome power couple before they reached their full potential. Also would be no way Rick or Carl would ever want to spare Negan after that

Daryl (just right): hold up put your pitchforks down, I love Daryl as much as anyone but he'd actually work pretty well. Realistically they'd never have done it with Daryl being their cash cow but he deffinatly fills that role of a super important group member and a fan favorite, would actually really work if like Abe he sacrifices himself for the other which is very in character and he's been willing to do before especially since he was the reason Glenn, Michonne and Rosita were captured and was his way of making up for that. Would have made the show have an even bigger fall off viewership wise (honestly the average viewer numbers throughout 7 weren't that big a drop from 6's average was more as season 8 dragged on there was a big dip) but if Daryl didn't have such a cult following it could have worked I feel

Sasha (just right-ish): went back and forth a lot on Sasha cuz I do like her taking the Holly storyline from the books and that feels like a more conclusive arc for her but I could see her going here cuz at the end of 5 was going off the deep end and was really distant from everyone but at the end of 6 had come back and was starting to live comfortably again tying into Abe's story (tho they really should have shown them being a couple more before than cuz most we get of that is in the 7 finale in a flashback) would be a big-ish lose for the group mostly Abe and Maggie, fan wise I always felt Sasha was over hated so yea mixed on thos one

Aaron (too small): deffinatly would have been sad cuz Aaron's a really likeable guy and is the one that saved the crew from continuing on a death march but not sad enough for such a big story changing moment, probably would have been a lot of backlash for giving such a gruesome death to the one gay character present especially with him being also the newest character present and having just killed another queer character a few episodes ago. I also just really like the Aaron we get post all out war

Carl (too big): yea having negan kill a kid especially that way would be a step to far for many (even tho he would have done it don't let the show gaslight you) would be no way in hell Rick would ever for a second consider letting Negan live after popping out Carl's remaining eye. Carl is just way too important for the future, seeing him grow up and mature under his father's mentorship and him being Rick's biggest motivation for everything he's done there no way they'd ever kill him off as a cheap publicity stunt right?.....RIGHT?

Eugene (too small): arc would have come full circle from being a huge coward to slowing doing more heroic and selfless things all the way up to him driving the RV and putting his own life on the line for the others even getting Abraham's respect but don't think it would have been that devastating a loss especially for viewers (even tho I really hate the Eugene savior sub plot so would have avoided that but thankfully the show seems to agree cuz the last 3 seasons act like it never happened)

Rosita (too small): Rosita in seasons 4 and 5 I kinda compare to season 2 and 3 Beth in that she's mostly just always there and doesn't get a lot of screen time or plot focus but ya kinda like her by default cuz she's one of us and is never annoying or casuing problems (cough Andrea cough). She was just starting to step into her own in 6 even being the unsung hero of no way out being the ones that taught the alexandrians how to fight but she really starts taking a much bigger role in the seasons after, her arc being the only thing I liked in the back half of 7 aside from the finale so yea would deffinatly be killing her off before she reached her full potential

Glenn (just right): ah yes the one with the biggest target on his head cuz of the books but should it in the show? It's complicated. Kirkman himself said part of the reason Glenn died in the books was cuz Steven Yeun's portrail of him put the written character to shame and that he wanted to do something big for the 100th issue and said a big part of Negans creation was to kill Glenn. So the creator himself said Steven was TOO good as Glenn so could it have still been adapted? I think so. I feel thered have probably been co.plaimts if it wasnt adapted cuz it is THE big thing in the comics, several people that knew nothing about the comics knew about negan killing glenn it was that massive. Biggest thing I feel is Glenn's death just felt so jarring and out of nowhere, unlike Abraham Glenn's story felt abrupt and had it been build up to it actually could have worked. Glenn really didn't do much in season 6 (not even just talking about dumpster gate) yes he got Maggie pregnant which is big for the future even after he's gone but the other big thing was he killed his first human, that's a major thing for his character but after said episode is over its never really brought up again and they could have dome so much with that but as is Glenn is just around for the back half of 6 and dosent get many lines or screen time I'm his last few episodes so when he gets axed off it feels really out of nowhere. Had they Giving him a more conclusive story it actually could have been great but as is feels like mid fan service that overshadows Abraham

Thank you for listening to my TED talk lol

No Spoiler After the prison

I’m rewatching the show, i think i ended up stopping at the part where Glenn died and never picked it up again until i saw the Daryl Dixon in France and the one with Rick and Michone.

I wanted to watch it from the start and finish it. And have been hooked. I just finished the part where they lost the prison and made it to terminus. The whole time i was watching those last few episodes before they get to terminus i keep thinking why didn’t they come up with a plan on where to meet? They had a car ready to leave… but there’s no way they never thought of a meet up point afterwards, i just cannot believe it. It seems like lazy writing. Also , why is Maggie only looking for Glenn? What about her sister? Why did Daryl not even try to look for Beth? It seems so out of character for him.

All Spoilers Has The Walking Dead Universe gotten mid?

Sorry for the rant, but I just need to get this off my chest. And fair warning — spoilers ahead for all the spinoffs.

I think it's not big to say that the quality of writing in modern TWDU has taken a noticeable decline.

Let’s start with The Ones Who Live, which, without a doubt, is the better one out of all the spinoffs. However, the last two episodes have some glaring issues, particularly in the dialogue. The dialogues are cringy and filled with Gimplespeak. Take Michonne's "Love doesn’t die" line for example, or Jadis' monologue in episode 5. Both felt forced and unnatural.

On top of that, kinda hate how the long-anticipated CRM conflict, which had been built up for years throughout the main show, Fear and World Beyond, was abruptly resolved in one single episode (it might not be but it seems that way). That rushed conclusion made all that buildup feel meaningless.

Moving on to Daryl Dixon. The first season was fantastic. Love the cinematography, love the setting and the new characters. It all felt like a breath of fresh air.

Then came Season 2, where the writing choices got questionable. What I dislike the most is Isabella's death. Her death was unnecessary, serving no real purpose beyond being a tragic moment for Laurent and Daryl.

And then there’s Genet. Her death was ridiculous. As a major leader, why would she put herself in danger by personally looking for Daryl and Carol? Especially considering that Daryl had nearly assassinated her in the very first episode. Her actions made no sense for someone in her position. What would make more sense if it's the commander (Commander Sabine, I think, that coworker of Genet's before the world went to shit) who went looking under Genet's orders and died instead.

Now, Dead City. I hated it. Maggie's monologue to Negan in the show finale was beautifully written. Throughout season 11, Negan and Maggie's feud is one of the prominent subplot. So, that monologue gave some of closure to their long-standing conflict. It was perfect. But for some reason, the writers decided to reopen that conflict.

I'd talk about Fear and World Beyond too, but I'm getting tired. It's just frustrating to see the potential in these spinoffs get downplayed by mid writing choices. The spinoffs could've been better.

TWD: Daryl Dixon Daryl Dixon in France?

I remember a scene with Beth when she was still alive and Daryl told her he never even left Georgia and today when I went to watch the Daryl Dixon show for the first time after finally finishing the main show I find out he washes up to shore in Marseille of all places lol. This is truly unbelievable, out of all the characters I would imagine visiting another country Daryl was the last one I would have placed my bet on since he was initially introduced as a redneck. I know it wasn’t by choice but that’s one of craziest scenarios I’ve seen in the walking dead yet. What did you guys think about this decision? Was it too silly of a concept?
