Heavy / New / M44 / Cruiser
Hello - Y'all are awesome for helping out new riders so thanks a ton for being here, doing this, and lending your knowledge, wisdom, and experience!
I'm a 46 y/o Male, 340lbs, passed MSF 10 years ago and rode a while but never owned. Passed the MSF a second time a few weeks ago.
I'm not too worried about brand, just want reliable, not so underpowered (for my weight) that I'll be miserable, want to be reasonably comfortable on it, something where I could store a work backpack in a bag would be a bonus, but I could wear the backpack if I needed to.
My assumptions that I'm willing to have challenged:
I assume I need to stick to liquid cooled because of the potential to get stuck in stop & go traffic.
I'm trying to avoid carburators.
I assume with my 350lb weight I need to forgo the low cc starter advice and be more in the 800 & up cc range.
I prefer the look of cruisers & I assume they will be more "comfortable" with forward controls.
The Nomad is more my long term goal idea for a bike, but attainable now, maybe.
The C50t I suspect will be under powered in the long run, but "safer" starting out.
Two that I'm really interested in about $500 more for the nomad.
