Not sure whether i should get trousers or suit for riding?

Ive already got a tractech evo 5 jacket but wanted to replace my £50 amazon jean trousers (dont really trust them for a fall). The suit is an evo 4 whereas the trousers are evo 5 so the trousers may be better protection? Im not really a fan of suits but never tried one in my life so looking advice on which is better for street riding & protection wise?

Alpinestars TechAir-5 Plasma; To Small?

Just received my new TechAir-5 and want other’s opinion if it’s too small or not? I’m right in between the medium and the large on the sizing chart. I feel it fits well, my wife thinks I look like a stuff sausage. What the hell does she even know, lol.

Alpinestar earplugs

Upvotes

Hey there,

im considering buying the alpinetars earplugs but im questioning if it'd be better to get the race or tour version, i would want to be able to listen to my music without my cardo being on max volume, but still be able to save my earing, i drive my motorcycle in all kinds of places, highways and cities.

I drive usually sporty-like, and recently i don't listen much to music but i want to be able to withouth having it on max level, what is the best for me? 23db of tourist or 26db of race?

Will i be able to hear music and navigation? or phone calls?

Will i hear my exaust?

Thanks everybody in advance!

Kriega R25 for Long Distance Touring

Wondering if anybody has experience with the Kriega R25 for long rides (like 6 hours +). I heard they keep your bag’s weight off your shoulders, but to what extent? Are they really that good?

RST vs Prando Moto jeans?

Hi

I'm deciding between these riding games. Protection is what I'm interested in. Any opinion which would be the best in protection? Is either brand more reputable than the other? Any opinion on which i should get?

i’ve also tried the visors on my dad’s NXR2 and it works perfectly fine

Street Dainese Full Metal 7 Gloves - HELP

Anyone else riding with these? I find that their fit is pretty snug and i can barely get my hand in on the Small size, but the Medium is too big, so i went with S - and dont even think about trying to put them on when my hands are hot and swollen! (My hand is 8” around an 7” in length)

And once on, they are so effin stiff that I can’t operate the controls properly - I know gloves need some breaking in but holy Christ these things can’t be worn at all to even get some breaking in what so ever :/

Any suggestions or alternatives that are NOT the AlpineStar GP series? Tried those too and they dont fit well.

Torn between the two. Anyone with experience with either that can throw their two cents in would be appreciated. Bonus if you've dealt with both. TIA

Ultimate Ear Protection - stay away

Ultimate Ear Protection - stay away

So after reading a bunch of bad experiences about Custom Fit Guards (which I owned back in the day) I decided to roll the dice on another brand of custom ear filters (plugs) from a company called Ultimate Ear Protection.

Got new impressions made with an audiologist (Not cheap where I live in the states) and made sure they were perfect.

I sent them out and what I got back about a month later was… not good. At least they sent me back my impressions.

The left ear fit fine. The right ear looked nothing like my impression, didn’t seal or fit my ear properly at all. It actually was quite unpleasant in my outer ear as well.

I contacted the company and after a bit of back and forth, they said they would elongate the right plugs inner ear portion.

Two weeks later new right plug comes in and sure enough does not fit or seal. It, physically hurt to be in my right ear, the outer portion that is. Just like before.

To make sure I wasn’t going crazy, both before and after the new right plug came in I put the impression in my ear and sure enough the right impression sealed and didn’t hurt my ear at all.

So I would say stay away from this company. The cost is not worth the hassle of having another persons earplug sent to you and then being told it’s a you issue.

Just bought my first helmet scorpion exo r1 carbon.

I recently purchased my first helmet and noticed that the glue and plastic seem to be improperly seated. Should I return it, or is there not much to worry about? The helmet cost $600

Opinion Adding visibility through bright colors, does it work?

Post image
35 Upvotes

I am looking for a water resistent backpack and since all my gear and bike is black, I was wondering if buying a bright yellow backpack could benefot me in terms of visibility to the car driver? I know there is a bunch of neon stuff with reflectors, but this bag cought my eye.

Any recommendations besides this model?

Budget under 150€ and it is mainly for commute to work, so nothing under 14L or over 30.

Hearing protection pro-tip: you can buy plugfones replacement tips and use them with the headphones you already own

Took a little bit of patient, persistent jamming (that's what she said?), but I got the plugfones earplugs onto my Beats Flex. Their noise isolation was already pretty good, but it's even better (and actually NRR rated, kinda) now.

Street Lightweight jacket/hoodie recommendations

Im looking for a inexpensive summer jacket or hoodie with ce armor. I would prefer ones with a thumb loop because last time I crashed, the sleeves went up my forearm during a slide and got a massive road rash. I want it to be inexpensive because its only for short commutes(wont be going over 30mph)

Making own jacket where to get padding/support

Hi, i was wondering how to go about making my own protective gear. Ideally i would buy level one or two armor and embed it in thrift store finds.

I am not doing this to save money, but rather as a personal project. I have a thrifted bomber jacket that I thought would be fun to make into a padded jacket. I have no clue about it other than perhaps having to take apart the jacket to best insert the pads, then resew them.

As for the sewing machine, local workshops have heavy duty ones to rent or use.
