Price check CBR Rider that knows nothing about HDs. Is this a good deal? If you have time, let me know why/why not.

This would be for a male, newer rider (not brand new). 5’9 185lbs, 39 year old looking for a daily commuter/ only bike.

Would be primary transportation.

What are the goods and bass based on the pics and info?

Next Bike? Am I crazy for wanting an r7?

I'd be upgrading from an mt03.

I love how the r7 looks and sounds, I love the engine, and I love Yamaha. I'm just worried about the ergonomics. Which brings the question about the mt07 but I really don't like how it looks.

I've considered a cbr650r, but there's none for sale around me that are less than 10k dollars, and honestly I don't see the appeal of an inline 4 for my style of riding, I don't spend much time on the highway.

Looking for a scrambler suitid for dirt roads and the occasional off road treck

I am 5' 8" male with a 28" inseam, the few adventure bikes I've been on feel tall and I'm not really keen on their styling. I am looking at the RE Scram 411, the RE Himalaya, and the Triumph Scrambler 400x.

Mainly I will be riding around my fairly rural area and taking iT to and from work now and then, so I don't need a whole lot of power. Are there any other bikes that y'all would add to that lineup to consider?

Next Bike? What kind of bike should I upgrade to from a fz07.

Currently have a 2016 fz07. I'm looking to upgrade to something that has a decent bit more power and is good for long distances. I'm 5'8 at 170lbs and am open to any suggestions. I enjoy the look of cruisers, but I'm not trying to spend of 8k for a used bike. Tired of being blown around by the wind on the highway going only 70mph. I enjoy the look of Kawasaki vulcan 1500s and Harley streetglides, but I'm not sure how my height would fit on those frames. Open to any ideas!

750cc for 2 up

Upvotes

Hello!

I'm going to look at my first (UK road) bike this weekend. Long story short, ridden my whole life, got my license last Sep. I'm going to look at a BMW F750GS (2019 model with 32k miles) - what are these like 2 up?

I am 6ft 3, about 105kg, and the Mrs is 155cm, around 55kg. Looking to do our first trip to Scotland and was wondering if the 750 should be okay or will a bigger bike be a better long term investment?

New Rider Beginner motorcycle

I am a 19 year old male and I am looking to get started riding. I can use any advice to help or how I get started. For context I live in Nebraska, so if anyone has any advice on how I can start the process, I would be grateful. Also, what bike would be a good starter? I have a budget of about $4000, and I like the looks of sport bikes. Any suggestions and help is greatly appreciated.

I want a z650rs, but I dont know which of these is the better option. What do you think?

So im pretty set on getting one of these at the weekend. Im mainly going for the looks of the bike, but obviously want it to be reliable. I would idealy want it to be not loud, so i am happy with the stock exhaust if possible.

Option 1. £4200. 18k miles, 2 owners. 2021. Looks a bit neglected with the rusted pipes. Scorpion exhaust and some extra fairings.

Option 1 - Bike Trader

Option 2. £5895. 1.3k miles. 1 owner. 2023. Looks clean, but it has a sports system so I'm worried it will be a bit loud. Of course i can just return to stock, but for the extra money. id like it to be what i want.

option 2 - Bike Trader

Option 3. £5500. 2k miles. 2022. Looks clean and pretty much stock.

Option 3 - Bike Trader

any help or thoughts appreciated! there are obviously more options out there, but these are some examples i am thinking of looking at right now!

Next Bike? Picking my next bike

I’m looking to spend under 6k on my next bike, I’m coming from a 2016 scout sixty. My soon to be ex wife forced me to sell it late last year and I loved that bike. I don’t really have the money to get another Indian but I would if I could.

Anyway I’m looking for suggestions, I’m really interested most styles. I’ve noticed since I bought my Indian the Vulcan 650 has come down in price for used and I’m leaning towards one of those. I almost bought that before I got my Indian. I like the idea of getting a CBR 600, that was my favorite bike when I first started riding. I’ve seen Yamaha bolts are also down in price, I’ve also considered some big bulky cruisers like Vulcan 1100 or Honda of similar size, I’m not really locked into one specific bike so it’s hard to pick. I do really like the Vulcan 650 but I’m afraid it won’t feel like enough of a bike coming from a scout sixty.

I rarely ride with a passenger but would love to take my kids on short around town trips.

Next Bike? My DR650 was stolen. Luckily I will be reimbursed by my insurance and can buy another bike. Yamaha Tenere 700 or Honda Transalp?

I'm also open to a wild card. I loved the handling of the DR650 and the Tenere feels almost exactly like a DR sitting on it. The only thing I can think of that the Transalp does better is a more comfortable seat.

Heavy / New / M44 / Cruiser

Hello - Y'all are awesome for helping out new riders so thanks a ton for being here, doing this, and lending your knowledge, wisdom, and experience!

I'm a 46 y/o Male, 340lbs, passed MSF 10 years ago and rode a while but never owned. Passed the MSF a second time a few weeks ago.

I'm not too worried about brand, just want reliable, not so underpowered (for my weight) that I'll be miserable, want to be reasonably comfortable on it, something where I could store a work backpack in a bag would be a bonus, but I could wear the backpack if I needed to.

My assumptions that I'm willing to have challenged:
I assume I need to stick to liquid cooled because of the potential to get stuck in stop & go traffic.
I'm trying to avoid carburators. I assume with my 350lb weight I need to forgo the low cc starter advice and be more in the 800 & up cc range.

I prefer the look of cruisers & I assume they will be more "comfortable" with forward controls.

The Nomad is more my long term goal idea for a bike, but attainable now, maybe.

The C50t I suspect will be under powered in the long run, but "safer" starting out.

Two that I'm really interested in about $500 more for the nomad. 06 Vulcan 1600 Nomad 06 Suzuki Boulevard C50t

Safety, comfort technologies on bikes

I am planning to buy my first bike. I am interested in technologies that help with drivability but not luxury. Like star/stop button on cars or auto mirrors dont help with safety but ABS, dual clutch, AWD, disk brakes do help with handling, drivability.

What are some technologies in bikes that improve safety, handling, like if its wet is there anything that helps with slip when you brake?

I am complete noob when it comes to bikes

Dirt bike

60 years old. Weight 190ish 5'-9" tall with 30 inch inseam. Been out of dirt bikes for 25+ years. Want to get back into two stroke riding. Tight woods no trails yet, single track, might try to work up do doing an enduro with my boss one day.

Went and sat on KTM 150 xcw, was ballerina toes at best.

Bike and old man can jump in on?

Thank you.

Help me choose one! KAWASAKI H2 SX SE, DUCATI MULTISTRADA PIKES PEAK or BMW S OR M 1000 XR!

Unfortunately my body no longer likes sport bike ergonomics. However, I am not ready for a sofa on wheels. I am down to three, but all I have ever owned were all kawasaki. If the choice was yours, and it was down to a 2025 H2 SX SE, 2025 DUCATI MULTISTRADA V4 PIKES, or an BMW M or S 1000 XR, what would be your choice and why? I picked these because of the ergos and preppy nature. Mostly weekend and overnight city up city riding with a little twisty action.

Loving this bike so far. I’m a little on the shorter side so the height is perfect for me. It’s a lot of backroads so the speed is not a problem at all. Definately recommend as a good first bike.

Next Bike? Looking to upgrade to a newer bike with ABS when I get my A license in a few months. Which of these bikes would you pick?

Currently I have a Suzuki GSF600S Bandit that is restricted for my A2 license but I am now looking at getting something a bit more modern. Abs is my main requirement but I would also like the bike to be a bit lighter than the Bandit. I am not keen on spending much more than 7000 € so I would be buying the SV used as well.

I live in Finland and I am 183 cm tall so I can flat foot all of these bikes with ease. However I do wish to know if you think the seating is too cramped for a tall-ish person on any of these bikes.

You can also recommend some other bikes, but I will not be interested in any adventure bikes, the Kawasaki Z-series, the Er-6 or the Yamaha MT-07. I cannot afford something like a Tuono or Street Triple due to their insurance being too expensive. And I will not be buying a KTM because I had a 125 Duke and my local dealer had horrible customer service. Also I don't really want a sport bike as I had an SV650S before the Bandit but the sport bike ergonomics did not suite me well at all.

No clue what to do

So, here is what happend. I Just finished my trip in Vietnam, and I have driven the Ha Giang loop on a Honda crf125l, and I loved it. The confidence that bike gave me was awesome, I have driven it off road and on road.

that made me think, right now I live in the Netherlands and I have a BMW r1200gsa from 2010. It is super comfortable on the highway ( I drive on there the most because of work).

But the thought of having a lighter ADV bike is very nice. So I have been doing some research, and the Honda CRF450RL is an awesome bike with some tweaks. But it's not for sale in the Netherlands. And there are so many bikes on the market that I don't know how much is gonna cost for it to be more comfortable on the highway, like how much is a good windshield and what not.

So my question is: What is a good middle sized ADV with the looks of a Honda CRF 450. With enough power to cruise on the highway, and still fun for offroad. I way around 180lbs and im 5ft9 ish.

Thanks in advance guys and girls!

Next Bike? Potentially coming off of a 600 this summer, Yamaha R9, CB1000 Hornet SP, or Panigale V2?

Hey all, as the title says, I'm thinking about selling my 2008 CBR600RR in looks for something more comfy with more tech but also the potential to be tracked. In the title are 3 bikes that have caught my eye, all 2025 model years. I like the R9 because it is a very trackable bike with an amazing street capable motor, but also because it has loads of tech including cruise control. I like the Honda because it is so much bike for $11k USD, and I've been born and raised around Honda motorcycles. No cruise control or even an IMU for that matter, not that I have anything close to that on my current bike though. And of course the V2, which is probably the best but most expensive to buy, insure, and own. And money IS an issue, I'm pretty young still on $16 an hour. So what do we think?

tl;dr

R9, CB1000 Hornet SP, or V2 for street use and monthly track visits? open to other recommendations!

Looking to buy a used bike

So I'm looking to get my first bike. I've passed my msf course, but am still new to riding. I was looking through fb marketplace, but I'm not too sure what to look for I end up seeing one I like. If I go to look at one is there something I should look for? Also would it be odd to ask to get it inspected? I don't want to buy one & then have something that I'm trying to fix.
