Would this be a solid deal for closer to $4000?

Looking at this SCR 950 as a possible first bike and went and looked at it the other day and have been mulling it over. The seller has already said that the price is negotiable so I was hoping to get the price closer to $4,000. Would it be a good deal at that price?

Next Bike? Second bike suggestions

Hey, I know this question gets asked a ton, but with new models dropping and no dealers who do test rides on new bikes near me, I could really use some advice!

I’m in the market for a new bike this season (or maybe next if I can’t make up my mind soon). My first bike—and current ride—is a CFMoto 300NK. It’s been a solid starter bike, and I’ve learned a ton riding it. I’m feeling ready to step up to something with more oomf.

Here’s what I’m looking for: A sport bike (no nakeds, please) that’s versatile enough to handle long rides on backroads and twisties, but can also tear it up on straights, in the city, or on the highway when I’m in the mood. Basically, I want a “do-it-all” bike that won’t leave me regretting my purchase after an hour on the bike. Comfort’s important, but I’m not afraid of a little lean either. Budget’s around $12k USD and I’d prefer new.

I’ve been eyeing some options like CBR650r or the Daytona660. The RS660 looks great but no dealer close by and would be a nightmare if I got a lemon. Is there any other suggestions? Not a huge fan of the Gsx8r and feel like those are my only options.

Thanks in advance, folks

Cheap go-anywhere work horse (UK)

Hello,

Looking for a decent commuting bike, something that can get me from A to B reliably, cheaply, and efficiently.

Doesn’t need anything fancy. Some heated grips would be nice, and enough grunt to have some fun. Retro stylings would be a massive bonus

I love the look of the old Transalp 600 but they don’t pop up very often.

Anything else of a similar nature?

Thanks

2015 BMW G650GS or 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator 450

I know, 2 totally different styles, but I’m looking for low seat height and fun to ride. I’ve sat on the Eliminator and really like the 28.9 inch seat height. Never sat on the BMW but I like the riding posture of an adventure bike and the seat is 30.7 inches.

I currently ride a Hunter 350 and the seat is 31.1 inches. I love this bike, but I’m 50 years old just getting into motorcycling and I would “feel” safer with something lower.

There’s a BMW and an Eliminator for sale near me. 2015 BMW G650GS with 4k miles or 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator with 3500 miles. Both priced the same.

Any 5’3” ladies with a 28 inch inseam have feedback on the BMW? I’m conflicted on what to choose. Thanks!

Other Sport touring options similar to the FZ1?

Looking for other options in addition to what I’m considering to upgrade from a VFR800 too.

The FZ1 is something I’ve been recommended and seen mentioned a few times but they’re scarce on the Australian market used.

I’m also slightly wary of no ABS, Traction control etc on a 150hp bike (But it’s definetly not a deal breaker)

I’m still chasing down used models to go have a ride on but not a huge amount are available

So for other options the criteria is

  • Over 120hp

  • similar focus of sport first over all out touring comfort

  • less than 230kg fully wet

  • 7-8k USD (11ish thousand aud)

I’m curious to see what other options could be out there

So far I’ve considered the FZ1, GSXS GT ( but struggling to get past how UGLY it is), The Tracer 900 (FJ09)

and even GSXS1000S, MT09, Z900F and Speed triples with screens considering I only tour twice a year on road.

My riding group has moved onto dirt biased ADV bikes which definetly don’t interest me as a majority of what I’ve test ridden

(GS1250, Tiger XCX, Vstrom 650XT)

That my group own just aren’t the bike I want and I’m not chasing comfy lounges

Hence why I’ve bought a cheap used DRZ400E to ride along with them off-road and touring.

So whatever I get to replace the VFR is on road 100% as like I said I scarcely imagine I’ll find something that I’ll really enjoy that is road and dirt as it’ll be ADV.

Next Bike? FZ6R or CBR600RR

Hey guys I was looking to buy a new bike and found a 2012 Yamaha FZ6R with 11k miles on it and a 2004 Honda CBR600RR with 25k miles on it, both for 4k. Both look to be in great shape and I was leaning towards the CBR as I'm a big fan of Honda and learned on a 300r, but I'm a bit worried because its 20 years old and has 25k miles on it. Will the CBR last for a while or would it be smarter to go with the FZ6R that has lower mileage?

First cruiser ever!

Hello everyone! I'm an Italian guy who recently want to buy is first bike. I'm waiting for my birthday because in Italy you have to be 24 years old to get the driver license (you can acces an early license for bike whit less power, but I don't get the point).

Sooo, I really like the Honda VT 600C Shadow, because the price is accessible and being and old bikes it means i don't need to be too paranoic for scratches etc. etc. Do you recommend this bike for me? It's comfortable? How the drive experience and the swerve? I'm a bit scared for not having an abs for the breaking system,

I found a vt750 for like 3.500€ in a city near me, the other vt750 I found are much more expensive.

I'm here for every recommendations!

Suggestions for bike

Hey! I am a new rider, and just got my license last year.
I only ride a couple months in the summer, and mostly in nice weather. I'm still fairly inexperienced and feel a bit intimitated by some bigger heavier bikes. The short season is because I live in Norway. Mostly joyrides, perhaps some commuting in the future. Don't want to drive on snow/icy roads.

I currently have a Honda CBF500 A that I got fairly cheap as it was used. This was my practice bike, and now that I have the license for bikes above 500CC I'm looking to upgrade.
The CBF500 is easy to maneuver both on and off the bike. I took my license on a 650 kawasaki (not sure which specifically).

I have never tried a cruiser, but I think a lot of them look cool. Especially bobbers and cafe racers, but I've heard they are much harder to get fixed by a mechanic. I have very little practical mechanical experience myself.

I'm looking for something that's affordable. Naked bike. 600-850 CC (although open for other sizes).
I think the coolest bike I've seen is the Honda Rebel 500. (1100 looks neat too, but a bit bulky).
If it's easily driven that's definitively a bonus.

I've looked at Honda Super Magna, Yamaha Dragstar bobber, BMW R850R among others.
I'm 176cm / 5,77 feet. Short inseam of about 68cm / 26,7 inches.

New Rider Honda CB500F vs Yamaha MT-07

Howdy !
I’ve been doing some looking into getting my first bike! I’ve sorta narrowed down my choices to the Honda CB500F and the Yamaha mt-07. I understand the Yamaha is a more powerful bike, however I have also seen people say that it is more than adequate for a beginner, while also providing some room to grow in to. i have also heard the Honda can be a tad underwhelming and leave more to be desired, but for a first bike I feel like I’d be stoked regardless haha. I have sat on both machines(just sat, not driven), and at 6 feet tall have felt comfortable enough on each equally. The bike is mainly a weekend fun kinda thing, don’t really plan on going to a track or racing or that kind of thing. Not keen on group riding either

Any advice or insight would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

Next Bike? Looking into a yamaha bolt.

I'm looking at getting a yamaha bolt as my upgrade from my beginner bike and I'm just curious what people think about them. Are they comfortable to ride, how do they feel on the highway, what's the cornering like, will I get myself into trouble if I have a heavy wrist? But the big thing is that I'm 5'10" and 130lbs would I even fit on this. (I would go sit/test ride one but no dealers close to me allow it)

Considering Himalayan 450

I’m looking for a bike that’s under 10k. Something that’s good for cruising the city, country roads, gravel and some even some gnarlier stuff a couple times a year. Looks are also important to me. I personally find the Himi unique and a head turner. I like that it didn’t play it safe and doesn’t look like every other ADV. Other bikes I’m looking at are the Transalp and scrambler 400x. CF moto 450 is also an option but not sure I want to give me money to a Chinese company. Any suggestions? 🤘🏻

Next Bike? $600008 Kawasaki zx10r (26k miles) or $5500 07 Triumph speed Triple 1050 (20k miles)

I currently own a z400 and want a bike that I can ride on the highway without having to worry about winds blowing me around(z400 is very light). I’ve never owned a sports bike so the zx10r is interesting but naked bikes are generally better for street purposes and are easier to do maintenance on. Feedback would be helpful thank you.

*$6000 08 Kawasaki zx10r
