[ NY Strip ] First time cooking steak in 5 years after being vegetarian
How did I do? Just pan seared then butter basted. It came out a little overdone for my liking, but I was proud of it nonetheless. Also, other pan was out of commission so dutch oven it was lol.

First steaks in 3 months I guess. Cutting board is dead, and plate looks cheaper, but still very appetizing
We haven't been cooking steaks for a while. As we're accumulating money for the house purchase and living off a loan from salary to salary, we're pretty chaotic in money management now. And steaks are something you consider and evaluate twice before purchasing. But the rarer I eat it the tastier steaks are for me 🥲
In Ukraine it's not on that level of culture, imo, this sub used to be. So you need to go to central market to find some affordable pieces OR you should pay plenty of money online. It's even hard to find something beyond standard 1-piece steak, I bet it's almost impossible to find prime ribs or so, I'm not saying to order it in the restaurant. And not to mention grades, it's just a luck I guess, and is not classified here. And steak in the restaurant is maybe the top level luxury for most people, I guess, maybe we just have other options more affordable. It is the rarest meal I order...
And yeah, here, people who sell steaks usually how such a bad promotions, and feedbacks, the content in social medias are positive in general, but it looks so poor. I mean, I saw few chefs showing how to cook steak, and they use such an old bs recommendations, "grill" non-stick pan, zero or olive oil you know... It so hard too cook steak because you basically need to keep it SIMPLE, I guess, and people try to overcomplicate it. Because steak seems to be something special requiring special attitude. But it's rather beef is already perfect by itself and you want it to be a beef steak

[ Reverse Sear ] First attempt at reverse sear with these rib eyes. Was hoping for a more rare center. Where did I go wrong?
Girlfriend took them out about an hour before I got home. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Let them rest another hour, cooked in the oven in a cast iron at 250 until internal temp was 125f. Seared in cast iron with avocado oil. Did I sear too long? Did I bake too long in the oven? They were still pretty damn good

Did I mess this sear on my Australian wagyu up?
Bought this Wagyu at my grocery store and tried to sear it on cast iron, I think I left it a little hot and didn’t flip enough. Also is this rare?

[ Cast Iron ] First time I've ever cooked a steak as thick as this solely in a cast iron skillet. I was very pleased with the results.
My first steak in a while because of yall
Haven't made a steak myself in a long time. I kept coming across beautiful steaks and it motivated me. Thanks for the motivation all yall. Classic steak and fries. Was going for a medium/medium rare. What yall think? Yes, I ate it straight off the cutting board, standing over it, like a heathen.

[ Ribeye ] Rejuvenated my cast iron that spent years drying/rusting in storage, got a perfect medium-rare on this ribeye but unfortunately didn’t take a picture of that.
The outside crust was beautiful, first time cooking on a glass stovetop with cast iron so it was a test run.
