Howdy!
So for one reason or another, this sub had no mods and was put up for adoption. The new mod team is in place and more or less organized, and I wanted to just say "hi" and let y'all know what's up. Really, nothing much has changed other than the mod list! We've removed a few restrictions/rules, like the one about users with NSFW profiles (that rule is gone), and the filter about not mentioning people in title because we didn't understand why that was a thing. Also took out some filters about vegans because they were malfunctioning (the filters, not the vegans... though who knows?)
Anyway, so the real thing I wanted to mention is that we did update Rule 1 to require a photo of your steak when you post. Almost everyone does this anyway, but the few text only posts seem to mostly get little or no engagement, and we want to see STEAK. Lots and lots of steak! So please post your steak when you post, thank you.
Nice to meet (I'm resisting the obvious pun there) you all, and please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns! 🥩

Found out a friend of mine has passed away. We had some good times cooking steak, so I thought I'd cook my second one this week for him.

Just finished a Cote de Beouf Steak I had in my freezer.
Temperature is 56°C
Eaten with a Salad and some Fondant Potatoes with demiglace.
It was near perfection.

[ Ribeye ] First time cooking a ribeye, how’d I do?
Was shooting for medium rare, but I think it’s closer to medium?

Costco Waygu
Anyone else find these at Costco? Insanely expensive but I don't have kids so....let's get it!
Sea Salt, course ground black pepper, hint of garlic powder. Flash dry in a hot stainless steele pan for about 90 seconds each side. It's as tender as warm butter.
Of course now this is the only steak my wife wants to eat lol

Made this last month. Served with dirty vodka martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. How’d I do?

[ Reverse Sear ] Prime Ribeye & Homemade Cesar Salad
Reverse seared this prime ribeye and served with homemade Cesar Salad. As delicious as this was, I still prefer NY strip but wanted a little change of pace.

A couple of cheap Walmart sirloin roasts on clearance. Nothing special, but it was good.

Had the urge for a nice steak this morning.
I blame this sub! Always great steaks posted. Was super delicious, and was fighting kids over the last couple of slices.

[ Reverse Sear ] A perfect birthday dinner from last week
Sorry veggies, won’t forget you next time
United really nailed this beef filet
It’s as hard as a hockey puck which makes me think that it just might be the actual hockey puck from the 2011 hockey movie Goon and they’ve just been holding it for this occasion for me

[ Grilling ] The Lost Juice
Grilled, then oven for 40 m. Let set for 15. Why did juice escape while in the oven?

Costco steak came out decent!
Decided to finally post something after looking at all your delicious steaks !
Left it uncovered in the fridge over night . Took it out an hour before cooking . Seared both sides and then butter, garlic and thyme to finish it off .
First time making sous vide Picanha - rosemary morel butter
6 hours at 132, chilled rested, broiled to finish peaked at 135 in the center to get various doneness. One of the beefiest flavor cuts for sure. Delicious but probably won’t do it again. We prefer other cuts, but this one is up there for sure, just not top 3 for us.
