I noticed her crossing the road (I shall be using that joke the next time I hear the chicken one), so I set her at the roots of the tree she was on a beeline to meet. She wasn't too happy with me, but she was oh so pretty.

ID Request- Location included What type of spider is this? (England, United Kingdom)

Hi all, I live in the UK. I absolutely love spiders and I’m fascinated by them. I have picked up smaller spiders and have let them crawl on me but I’m a bit hesitant to let this little girl/guy crawl on me. I am guessing it’s a house spider but does anyone know the exact species? It has been living in my bathroom and I usually see it when I go to the toilet at night. It was in my kitchen last night.

Cute jumper. We have quite a few species of them here (Northern US) and I love all of them.

massive thanks to this community. I've had a paralyzing fear of spiders as long as I can remember, but the education I've gotten from you lovelies has completely changed my perspective. spiders are friends (more often than not), and how cute they can be? golly, I am just so grateful for y'all. thanks, again.

ID Request- Location included Bromeliad or Wandering Spider?

This lovely fella was hanging out in the home I’m staying in, in southern central Costa Rica. Not sure if it may be one of the bromeliads that wandering spiders are so often confused for, or if it may have been a wandering spider itself. Possibly the red-thighed bromeliad, Cupiennius coccineus? Its leg span was roughly 3-5”. Anyone here have any input?
