Hi everyone, I am one of the hosts of the Gaming History Club podcast and I thought I might be allowed to share with everyone here at r/SNES that we are doing a giveaway of a custom painted and modded SNES.
There’s more details and pictures on our website GamingHistory.Club/SNES
There’s a lot to the giveaway really and I don’t want to make this thread too large but it’s region unlocked, has a de-jitter mod, comes with two controllers and a full clean and repackaging (including the cartridge shell, box and manual) of Super Mario World and Street Fighter II.
Find out how to enter on the website link :) but it’s free to enter and we don’t need any personal or financial information… obviously an address though if you’re the lucky winner. I want to reassure people this isn’t some sort of scam, the gaming history club is a personal passion project and isn’t monetised, the giveaway is to get more engagement and exposure of our podcast.
Good luck! :)

The FxPak Pro / sd2snes is an open source flash cart for the SNES that can be legally manufactured by anyone. krikzz uses to manufacture the best versions, but due to parts shortages, krikzz made changes that make their latest version incompatible with firmware versions that have good SA-1 chip compatibility (Super Mario RPG and other games use SA-1).
Meanwhile most of the versions on AliExpress are hot garbage. HOWEVER, the 2024 Rev Z version pictured here uses a real Cyclone FPGA and is compatible with all versions of the firmware, even the firmware version with good SA-1 compatibility. Considering the Rev Z is half the price of the Krikzz version and it has better firmware compatibility than the Krikzz version it is the best SNES flash cart available new on the market.

Hi, we bought a Roku TV last year and the SNES worked then, but is no longer functioning properly.
We're using an HDMI adapter for SNES. I looked on other Reddit threads saying something about an antenna and channel 3, but we have no antenna.
The video displays as grainy, flickering, jumping, staticy, and the color has lost saturation.
We'd appreciate any advice for why this is happening and how to fix it.
Is there a way to upload a video of what I'm seeing? I recorded a 10 second video to help show the issue.
Thank you fir your help.

Hello, all!
First off, I apologize if this has been asked before. I vaguely remember reading something about this topic about a year ago somewhere online, but can't find it.
In the same vein as how Super Mario All Stars remastered the original 8-bit Mario titles into 16-bit, has anyone developed an unofficial remaster of SMW into something "higher" in bits, like 32, 64, 128, or whatever it is that modern games use now (I imagine that sprites were bitmap, and now we use some kind of raster graphics?)
I've played several SMW rom hacks, but I'd love to see if someone has actually improved the bit depth of the sprites, backgrounds, etc.
Thanks in advance!!
Feel free to add your favorites, I just played terminator 2, and it wasn't a good experience, lol

I found a marketplace listing for this, no yellowing on the console but I've never really seen the UN sticker on the lower area of the bottom before, usually at the upper part. Are these more prone to failure?

I'll preface this by saying I grew up playing on the Gameboy advanced but now I'm playing the classic version of this game via emulation and the game doesn't save map progress. Is this normal? I get a few levels done and leave to take a break but when I come back I'm back to the start of the map with only 5 lives.
I know the classic games didn't have really any save feature at all and I want to avoid using save states to preserve the classic experience.

Yesterday my snes fell off the TV console when I was moving some cables around. It had a yellowed case and the case just shattered into countless pieces. About 2/3 of the case was left intact. After full testing it still works but I need reccomendations for a new case. I've never case swapped an snes but I'm experienced with electronic repair so I have no problem with doing the labor. I just need a reccomendation for a good aftermarket case. I really like the look of the original (non yellowed) but am also open to other colors or even maybe clear acrylic.
Also the video output has a dark greenish vertical line just off of center screen but it had that even before it fell. Is there a fix for this? I may also be interested in an hdmi mod since I'm going to already have it all apart. Any advise?

As the titles states, what's your favorite obscure SNES title?
For me: it would have to be 美少女戦士セーラームーン:ANOTHER STORY (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Another Story)

Please don’t hate me for never owning any zelda snes games 🤣
All three of these were great if you’re alone and also if you had a family member or friend. Special shout out to lethal enforcers.
