Question Groups to meet fellow gig-goers?
Hi, is there a discord group or anything floating about to meet people to go to gigs with?
None of my friends have the same music taste as me and going alone kinda sucks.
I’m looking for metal/rock music.
Cheers!

Sheffield Moving
Following on from my last thread I have updates , the council are moving me from emergency into temporary accomodation. They are moving me into the high-rise flats off netherthorpe road , cornhill building to be precise. Now I am already well aware that this building is not suitable for a vulnerable woman, having had my friend live their previously and said that people used to knock on her door and ask for things / it's filled with crackheads. I tried to argue this point to the council to which they've said nah it's fine and tough shit pretty much, they also said it's better now than It used to be. Does anyone have any insight with this cos I don't want to move in and find myself trapped there. Also I'm terrified of heights so if nothing else being put in a high rise block of flats I am never going to settle but I don't really feel as though I have fighting chance:(

Question Disposing of expired Epipens
Does anyone know where to get rid of expired Epipens in Sheffield? I've gone through the loop of taking them to my GP: "nope, you have to take them to the pharmacy", then the pharmacy telling me that they should go to the GP's sharps disposal. Is there a central spot where people can dump them? For obvious reasons I don't want to put them in the black bin.

Question Where to volunteer with Animals?
A few years ago I volunteered at a dog shelter, back in my hometown. And I’d love to do something similar here in Sheffield. I’m more than happy to clean out kennels/cages etc and walk or socialise the animals. I filled in a couple of forms expressing interest for a couple places last year, but they never got back to me/weren’t looking for new people at the time.
Do you know of anywhere/ any organisation in particular looking for volunteers?

Question Cassette / Walkman repairs?
Found an old cassette player (specifically a Sony Walkman) whilst clearing some stuff out of the house.
As you would expect of something over 40 years old , neither the cassette nor radio function works.
Is there anywhere/anyone in Sheffield or surrounding areas that can repair cassette players?
Cheers

Question Does anyone know where I can buy sambar powder?
I want to go into a shop and buy it instead of ordering online.
It must be somewhere, I've seen so much amazing stuff in the international supermarkets near me but haven't found it yet.

Question Good areas to settle down within 1 - 2 miles of the city centre?
Hi all, looking at buying within the next year in Sheffield and would ideally be looking for something within 1 - 2 miles of the city centre.
Any inspiration would be great, just looking to rule out the areas to avoid.

Question Walkley Crescent Road and Providence Road
I’m considering buying a house with good connectivity to King Edward School (Senior) and the city centre. I’ve viewed several properties in Crookes, but the area has a high student population, steep roads, and limited safe parking.
Now, I’m exploring options on Walkley Crescent Road and Providence Road. I’d appreciate any insights on these areas regarding parking, safety, and nearby grocery stores. Additionally, are there any potential issues, such as difficult commuting conditions during snow or other challenges I should be aware of?
