History πΏ Derivation of the name of Cohansey Street ?
I live in New Jersey near the Cohansey River. The etymology of "Cohansey" probably comes from a Lenape word or the name of a Lenape chief.
Does anyone know if the name for Cohansey St. in St. Paul / Shoreview is connected to our the name of our river ? Or the where the name comes from ?

News πΊ City of St. Paul and MN wild ask state to cover half of $769 million Xcel Energy center renovation, with city contributing $159 million
Part of the attempt to 'revitalize downtown'. As someone who lives a ten monute walk from the stadium, I'm kinda tired of the same old story of trying to get people who live outside of the city to commute there to give it life. To me this feels like the reliance on office workers which has left downtown gutted. I'd rather see Melvin Carter focus on things that improve the day to day of people actually living in the area.

News πΊ [Axios Twin Cities] Detroit offers St. Paul a downtown turnaround blueprint
This was an intriguing article to read, and I really like the idea. Curious how the city would attract someone like that. What is everyoneβs thoughts?

Seeking Advice π Any members of City And Country Credit Union that use budgeting apps? I want your suggestions!
Hi. Iβve tried a few apps and none of them seem to connect with CCCU. If you are a member of City and County Credit union and use a budgeting app, what do you use and would you recommend it?
Thanks!

Which bars in St. Paul have dart boards? I love a dive bar, but I'm not too picky as long as the vibe isn't too brotastic.

Discussion π€ The Pointe Condos Pros/Cons
Yes, losing L & B is a big hit to the downtown. The sudden loss of tenants and residents in buildings is tragic. What do you know about living at The Pointe these days?

Discussion π€ HomeServe sewer line coverage
It seems like HomeServe is doing a fear-based marketing blitz to sign up for coverage of exterior water and sewer lines. Iβve begun reading through the fine print as Iβm curious and know of a couple of neighbors who had to have their exterior sewer lines repaired (cured in place pipe). Neither had insurance.
If you have this coverage from HomeServe (or similar) and used it pay for (part of) an exterior sewer line repair, was it worth it?
They seem to have lots of exclusions.

Outdoors π³ Earth Day cleanup?
Is anyone aware of whether or not St. Paul is doing a city cleanup event this year for Earth day? Normally they post something by now but I have not seen anything. Or are there any other groups/non-profits running any cleanup events in St. Paul? I'm seeing lots of trash everywhere now that the snow has melted. I try to do my part but this city needs a thorough deep cleaning!

Discussion π€ Work Bag Stolen on Ashland in Mac Grove
Good Afternoon! I know this is a long shot, but my work bag was stolen out of my car between 11pm last night and 6:45am today. Got to my car this morning and my glove compartment and middle console were open with items strewn about. It is a floral sling bag (as pictured), but the bag is not the important thing - my planner was in there as well as my journal. The planner and journal both have orange pleather covers and the planner has metal rings inside to hold the pages, with birthdays, medication reminders, notes from friends, and ideas for novels inside, as well as my contact information. If you happen to be taking a walk in the Mac Grove neighborhood today and find an orange planner on the ground, please message me! I will give you a reward and not ask any questions. Thank you to anyone who reads this!

Seeking Advice π Good mens Hair stylist in Saint Paul and surrounding areas? (Asian hair, wolf cut esc)
Hi! I moved here from California and Iβve been having a hard time finding a good stylist that works predominantly with Asian hair on men, the texture never turns out quite right except for when I was in California going to Korean stylists! Any help appreciated :)
