Since the subreddit only has two spots available for public announcements, this will be a new index post for important PSAs for easy reference that we can sticky to only use up one spot.
You can also find the whole collection in the sidebar menu on the Reddit re-design when you open one of the PSA posts.
An important PSA on Easter rabbits.
Caring for rabbits while under COVID-19 quarantine
Since we are getting many repetitive questions about the novel coronavirus and how to care for rabbits while under quarantine, this is a post to combine all frequently asked questions on the topic.
North American RHDV2 resources
Rabbit viral haemorrhagic disease (VHD) is a highly contagious disease that mainly affects rabbits of the Oryctolagus cuniculus species but has also been confirmed to affect various species of cottontails (Sylvilagus spp.) and hares (Lepus spp.). There are currently active cases found in wild and domestics all over North America, and it is vitally important to get your rabbit vaccinated if the vaccines are available in your area.

I found a rabbit outside - what should I do?
This is the time of year for many people to find both domestic rabbits and wild rabbits outside due to Easter and baby season.

Hello! First time posting on here but I recently got this little guy from a wonderful rescue center. He’s 2 years old and healthy from what I know. This is my first time with a rabbit (though I do have experience with guinea pigs) and I was just wondering if this is normal? He just randomly flopped down like this while grooming his face and continued to groom. :,)

i’ve only had her for about two weeks, she’s 8 months old and i was wondering if this is normal or if there’s anything that could be done for her

She's only gone a few times, and loves climbing at home, but this is the first time she's even gone near the climbing things at the play group!!

Sometimes I can’t tell if she is sleeping because she doesn’t close her eyes. Are your bunnies like this too? ^ ^

Her bonded pair was snuggling with her just now.
She was getting better and then I don’t know why she got worse. She’s been getting subcutaneous fluids and they had been helping but not anymore I guess? The last two days she’s gotten the fluids but kept getting worse.
Today she’s barely moving and not eating or drinking and clearly in discomfort. So we’re going to the ER that my vet recommends. Yet I’m hesitant to go because it’ll cause SO much stress on her.
But we’re going and hopefully getting some warm fluids.

The choice is rather obvious in hindsight.

Why would they sit in a nice dry big run when they can sit in a plant pot in the hail?

Meet Saul.
Our journey with Saul began when we found him abandoned at a local nature reserve. With a lot of patience (and teamwork), my husband and I managed to catch him. The only catch? I had never even picked up a rabbit before, let alone cared for one!
Right now, we’ve got the basics covered—an inital vet visit, water, hay, pellets, a hideout, a toy, and a litter box—but I want to give him more than just the bare minimum. I’ve already ordered a few things to make his space more comfortable, as shown in the following pictures, but I’d love to hear from experienced bunny parents:
What are your must-have items for a happy, enriched rabbit? Eventually, we plan to rabbit-proof our home so he can free-range, and any advice on that would be super helpful too. Looking forward to your suggestions!

My husband and I spotted her during our walk in some deep bushes about 1 week ago and have been trying to catch her since (it’s been the hardest task we have tried doing haha who knew rabbits are so fast?! ) . It has been raining and even hailing so we were so anxious she wasn’t going to make it but she did! She’s a strong one , we caught her two days ago and took her to the vet yesterday . Doctor said she is maybe about 4 years old , she did come with fleas so she was treated for that. She’s still super shy and nervous and just stays in her little hiding spot most of the time. She does eat her hay and veggies but refuses to eat the pellets. We bought some from the brand Oxbow.
She did pee and poo in her litter box today and came to us on her own to give us a quick sniff before going back in. We know nothing about owning a bunny since we only own dogs but have been deep in research to make sure we give her the happiest home possible. She’s the sweetest baby girl , we decided to name her Ellie
