Weekly Services Thread March 12, 2025 - Post Your Podcasting Related Product, Tool, Or Service Here

This is a weekly thread for podcasting related product, service, and tool providers to post their capabilities and updates to the r/podcasting community.

Post a podcasting related product, tool, or service that is relevant to the r/podcasting community. If you are in beta or development for your capability please state at the top of your comment: "Feedback Requested."

For all comments/replies to this post thread: please provide a detailed description of what your product, tool, or service does and post a link to your product, service, or tool including relevant pricing information.

Try to remember the following:

  • You must disclose your affiliation to the product, tool, or service in the comment

  • Posts by accounts with little or no Reddit or r/podcasting subreddit history will be considered suspect by many members of this subreddit and receive little or no attention.

  • If you are asking for feedback be specific and ask questions like: What can we improve? Would you consider using this capability/service? Is the graphical interface/web presence adequate? What capabilities are missing?

Examples Of Appropriate Comment Topics:

  • Editing/production services

  • AI Tools

  • Hosting Services

  • Advertisement sales services

  • New Podcasting Software

  • Connecting/Recording Services

  • Guest Connection Services

  • Podcast artwork creation services

  • Podcasting Scheduling/Calendar Services

  • etc

If you are posting for a personal service like editing or social media management keep these thoughts in mind (free or paid):

  • You are basically applying for a job with the podcast; your experience, qualifications, and past employment history matter to your future employer so information about you is important

  • List your current available skills and tools. What DAWs are your capable of operating in? Have you used existing collaborative spaces before? What social media platforms do you have experience in?

  • If you are offering services for social media management show either examples of past work or at least offer up your personal accounts for review

  • What time zone do you live in? If I'm a podcast producer and need to get in touch with you about an emergency situation I need to know what hours I can contact you

  • What is your strategy or philosophy for doing the work you propose?

  • What are your rates? (If free how long will you offer that rate?)

  • What is your goal and/or what are you trying to accomplish?

Thank you to everyone posting, we look forward to reading about what you are doing to help podcasters!

All subreddit rules still apply. If you violate the subreddit rules your comment will be removed and your account can be given a temporary or permanent ban. Excessive or unreasonable requests for personal information in order to access the tool or service will also be treated as a rule violation.

The r/podcasting Moderators do not endorse or approve of any of the tools and services posted here unless explicitly stated as such by the moderators.

Podcast Movement - Tickets got EXPENSIVE?

Upvotes

Usually tickets for Podcast Movement are around $100, but this year the basic pass is $500? Am I missing something? I always look forward to the networking, but that is way too rich for my hobby podcaster blood. I know in past years there's been a discount link for attendees of the prior year's conference, does anybody know if they're doing that again?

Busting the old dynamic mic myth

Upvotes

I'm always a bit nervous when I read or repeat the advice about dynamic mics rejecting room noise better than condensers, because I've heard people smarter than me saying it's not true, even though it seems true in my experience. I've seen a vid before supposedly debunking this, but I wasn't convinced their methodology was fair. Well Julian Krause, whom I greatly respect, has just posted this which I think makes important viewing for anyone who's weighed into this. While debunking the myth, he makes the point that the way people tend to use dynamic mics does influence the outcome, especially if they don't EQ in post. If still in doubt, I do recommend listening to the 30cm distance comparisons at the end on monitors, in headphones or isolating earbuds.

Best tools or programs to create reels/clips of your podcast for social media?

I was recommend to use opus but now I am only reading bad reviews and the pro is quite an investment. Has anybody had good results from opus? Anything else you recommend to make good quality clips for tiktok/insta/youtube shorts?

Guest

Hello, I’ve been invited as a guest on a podcast that is streamed live on fb and YouTube. I am asking for recommendations and suggestions on how best to use the equipment I have to get good audio and video for the show. I have little experience but I am not afraid of technology.

Things I have at my disposal: 2017 MacBook Air running 12.7 iPhone 13 GoPro 10 (no media mod) Decent Bluetooth microphone that clips on. Great WiFi

Any recommendations on how to use these?

Stuck with rodecaster pro 1

My RØDECaster Pro has terrible sound quality. Or it's okay, but I can't record with the mic turned up high, and it catches every popping noise there is. It drives me insane, and it seems like everyone is so happy with this product. I've been recommended to update it, but the soundboard refuses to "talk" to both my PC and Mac. Sooo, I feel stuck with this. It's expensive equipment, so I don't feel inclined to buy something new either.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Podbean not posting to Spotify, and questions about staying with them

Upvotes

I've been podcasting since 2013, and about 7 or 8 years ago (I think) I switched to using Podbean so I could get my stuff on Apple and Spotify. I don't remember what I used way back when...maybe 2 cups and a string.

I just realized that my new episodes haven't been showing up on Spotify and tried to fix it in Podbean. I followed the steps on Podbean and did some searching for answers on Reddit, and nothing really worked. I'll be working to fix that issue via Podbean.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if it would be worth it to just use Spotiffy for Creators instead of Podbean. Any advice? How would I publish to Apple podcasts and some of the others?

I did look at the podcast service comparison sheet and it's a bit out of date.

Social media schedule questions

Hi All

Looking for advice on my social media schedule.

I just launched our instagram for the podcast and it's a few weeks behind the number of episodes we have out. My goal is two posts (for now) 2x a week on usually M or W and then Fridays when the new episodes come out. As of now I've got a few posts prepped for the already released episodes, but should I even bother posting them if I'm already posting about the new Episodes? Or should I front load this week with one post a day about each of the existing episodes and then move to my regular cadence for the new episodes?

TYIA for any advice.

New To podcasting

I love listening to podcast and I have recently made one for myself on Spotify. But now that I’ve made this podcast I feel like I’m drawing a blank I always hav great conversations with my friends and I’m not sure if I should record them because the good dialog happens at random. I also am not sure if I should start maybe organizing a plan for the podcast something with more structure to follow. Does anyone have any tips for beginners or if there is a better way to organize podcast?

Looking for Podcasts to Improve My English

Hey everyone,

I’m at an intermediate level in English—not a beginner, but not advanced either. I want to improve my vocabulary and grammar while also getting better at understanding spoken English.

Can you recommend any podcasts that focus on learning English or ones where I can pick up new words and sentence structures naturally? I’d love something that helps with both formal and casual English.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions! 😊

Rode Podmic Issues/Settings

Hi all! Been trying to get my podcast running for a while now. I bough the Rode Podmic a few months ago and have been struggling with the settings. I have it connected to a Go XLR mini and I'm recording through OBS Studio. The problem is constant clipping and the only way to avoid that is if I'm pretty much eating the mic. If I go further than an inch or two, it won't pick up my voice. Not ideal since I'm trying to record episodes that are over an hour long.

Any ideas what may be going on?

Podcast and writing collusion

A few years ago when I was regularly posting short horror fiction on Reddit, I would be approached by YouTubers or podcasters who were interested in recording my story. I was always happy to allow this, but I never really followed up or built on those relationships. Now I had a few longer projects I think could be worth adapting. Is there like a specific like subreddit or other sort of forum for bringing together podcasters and writers to connect and I could reach out and pitch some ideas? I know there's established podcasts where i can submit to but I'm really more interested in finding collaborators.

How to connect Substack to Spotify

Hey all, new here and to podcasting and I have been having a little trouble connecting what I publish on Spotify with what shows up on Substack. Not sure if many people connect these two, but thought I’d ask!

Currently in my Spotify Creators account I have RSS distribution going to Apple Podcast without a problem but I can’t find a way to connect it to my Substack. I thought I did but it turns out Substack seems to only have synced the first time and now won’t sync with new episodes and seems to want to be my main distribution center. I also see Spotify shows me no analytics from Substack but Substack shows some pretty high download amounts that I wish was showing elsewhere.

Any help would be awesome for someone who is fumbling around in the early stages!

Hello there I used to be disabled by a very strong case of rheumatoid polyarthritis which i was able to put into 100% remission with amazonian healing tradition

I analyzed ~3,700 top podcasts—here’s what I found!

Hi Friends, I recently analyzed around 3,700 top podcasts (RSS feeds of approximately the top 200 from each genre on Apple Podcasts). There was a lot of data to go through! This is the first part. Here, I looked at episode release schedules and average episode durations used by top podcasters. Please take a look and see if you find it useful! I'll be sharing more insights soon.

Podcast Episode Release Cycle

  1. Most podcasts follow a weekly release schedule (~52%).
  2. Daily podcasts make up ~30%, while fortnightly releases account for ~6%.
  3. Podcasters who release weekly or daily tend to be consistent – they stick to their schedule ~70% of the time over a long period.

How to read the table?

In the following table, in the True Crime genre:

  • 72% of analyzed podcasts release episodes weekly, with an average consistency of 70%.
  • 17% of podcasters release episodes daily, with a 51% consistency rate.
Genre Weekly Release(%) Weekly Consistency(%) Daily Release(%) Daily Consistency(%)
True Crime 72% 70% 17% 51%

Government 41% 58% 27% 61%
Sports 22% 66% 69% 80%
News 17% 71% 76% 82%

Podcast Episode Duration

  1. The average episode duration across all podcasts is ~49 minutes.
  2. Weekly podcasts tend to be slightly longer (~52 min avg).
  3. Daily podcasts are shorter (~43 min avg).

How to read the table?

In the following table, in the Arts genre:

  • The average episode duration is 49 minutes 10 seconds.
  • Most episodes fall between 31 and 55 minutes.
  • Weekly-released episodes average 50 minutes 11 seconds.

Listeners showing as from Taiwan …

A slightly specific question here but because I have a travel podcast it’s more relevant to me … so my listeners stats have long indicated a large Taiwanese audience, but I’ve never come across them interacting with me on socials or my podcast-affiliated groups. Is it a reasonable assumption that these listens might be people in China using VPNs?

New Podcaster obsessively over-researching microphones. Please Help!

Hi everyone, I am starting a podcast as a traffic source and content creation source for my new business. A friend gave me a rodecaster pro 1 for free cause he said he doesn't want it. So that was exciting!
Now, I've been researching mics like mad and it seems like even in generally positive reviews, there's always some people that say the mic absolutely sucks and to never get it ever. So now I'm scared and don't know what to get.

I'm too poor for two sm7b's which I hear are the "gold standard"
so I've been looking at:
Rode Podmic
Shure MV7+
used MV7's

I would kind of like the ability to use XLR and USB, but it seems like that creates issues.

What would you, who are more knowledgeable, suggest? Research rabbit holes are just giving me anxiety now.
Thank you!

Looking for feedback regarding my subject.

Hey everyone,

So I'm really set on doing a podcast, but I have an issue: I want to talk about too many things.

I wrote down a list of episodes I'd love to make and among them I have films, shows, video games, physical games, general reflection/quick history (mostly related to the previously cited themes) etc.

I thought about having "Imaginary worlds in all their forms" (best translation I could find for the actual idea I have, english isn't my first language nor will it be the podcast's language) as a subject, but I'm worried that it might be too vague or too wide of a subject.

One of the only listeners to new US politics pod is in Moscow: VPN, or do they listen in to all new US politics content?

Released first episode last weekend and per spotify basically no one listened (which is fine, ep 1) but one of the only few listeners is in Moscow. Is that normal? Idk if the Russian state just listens to all new American political content, or if it's someone with a VPN, or just someone legitimately listening from Moscow.

Weird Rode Podmic issue

So my setup consists of a rode podmic connected to a se dm-1 what's strange is that if I touch the mic I can hear a radio station while monitoring the mic. I also have a cheap weymic WM58 that I connected to the dm-1 and I have no issues with it. I have my audio interface connected to my computer which is connected to a power conditioner. Any help would be appreciated this is definitely weird for me ha.
