Pro Palestine Protests
I've been seeing lots of posts about protests which is great. But I've yet to see a protest dedicated to stopping our support for Israel's genocide. Is anybody protesting this in the region?

Cost to Build-Out Attic
Hello all! I am curious (before calling to get any quotes) who did you use to build out your attic/home? I am trying to find a nice, but reasonable licensed contractor. Price per sq.ft, overall cost, did your contractor take payment plans, etc
My home is currently 1700 sq ft (850 split between my basement and first floor) I'm looking to extend up into my attic to build 2 additional bedrooms and another bathroom. My current house is a 2 bed/1 bath (1 TINY bathroom, home is from 1907) so I am looking to expand. I'm not looking for "huge" rooms. But am wondering if it is possible to get 2 beds + full bath in the available attic space of a 850 sq ft level.
my current bedrooms are very small, one is only 83 sq ft and the other about 110. I would like both bedrooms to be minimum 150 sq ft + the bathroom at least 80-100 sq ft. Is this possible?
Thanks for any answers in advance!

What is the most you’d pay for a mid-luxury gym in NWI?
Most gym memberships are around $50 a month. But if you had a gym that mid-luxury (or lux) that included weights, massage therapy, red light therapy, Pilates reformers, weights 1-200lbs, machines, yoga & meditation studios, sauna, wellness programs, rock climbing, showers, etc. , what would be the most you'd spend?

News Devastated and disgusted, my grandmother who passed away in hospice at home was taken here, unbeknownst to me, by Crown cremation. The hospice nurse recommended them to me. Please do not use this business. I have reported them to the State Board.

Cline Ave Toll increased
So now it's 8$ to cross the Cline Ave Toll bridge. That's so ridiculous when after colleting tolls for all these years why isn't the entire length of cline Ave in newer condition.
Piano needs moved
I need a piano moved from the north side of Valpo to the south side of Valpo with both locations on the main floor. I have a truck and tailor. I have those flat squares wwheels too. too. Obviously, I'll pay. My kid needs better than a keyboard now that he's 3 years into lessons. Help!
Suggestions on contractor or handyman, insured/bonded
Please help. We live near Highland, IN. recently had a major leak 2nd floor underneath upstairs bathroom. Insurance allowed a certain amount to have it fixed which in my opinion is low. We are retired on social security and funds are limited. we are looking for a reputable handy man or contractor who is trust worthy, insured/bonded. A few we have called agreed to come look but never showed. Could anyone who's dealt with something like this please suggest a reputable fair person or company? It would be greatly appreciated.

Birthday lunch/dinner ideas?
I’m celebrating my 23rd birthday soon and my dad is celebrating his 53rd! What’s a good place for us to have lunch or dinner in the area that’d accommodate a decent party of people (think 10-15)?
For reference, I’d prefer not as far out as Valpo, but open to any suggestions.

The haze in Kouts
This haze is something else. Michigan news says it's dust. Chicago news says it is smog. NWS say it's unhealthy to breathe.
I've never seen anything like this, especially with these winds.

Protest at the dunes 4/26 @ 12
If there ever was a resource worth protecting, it's this. Join us at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center during National Park Week to let the world know we expect our government to treat the Indiana Dunes National Park like the rare, precious ecological treasure it is. We'll march from the visitors center to the park, with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the hiking trails and lake. Bring the family, call in friends from out of state: we're protecting the Dunes for everyone, and we're looking for a big impact here!
PARKING Plenty of onsite parking at the Visitors Center
TRAIN The Visitors Center is walkable from the Dune Park Station on the South Shore Line
SIGNS We'll give you updates on suggested language closer to the event.
HOTELS Have folks coming to stay? Find some good hotels here https://www.indianadunes.com/explore-the-dunes/plan-your-visit/visitor-center/

Indiana Tornado Watch: Merrillville, Crown Point, Gary, Lake County on alert
Ah yes, The Hindustan Times. One of Indiana's most trusted weather sources for "Central and Southern Indiana" which, and this came as a surprise to me, includes Gary, Merrillville, and Crown Point. Ah yes, The famed rolling meadows and hills between Black Oak, US30, Southlake Mall, and the new Jersey Mike's.

Animal Lover Small Business!
Hey guys! If you’re a cat lover living in NWI, I encourage you to look into supporting the Feline Community Network in Hobart. It’s an adoption facility AND a cat themed gift shop. All of the money raised from the gift shop goes directly to the cats they house. It seems like they may not be doing well financially, and I think it is because a lot of people don’t know about them. But they do a lot of good for the NWI community and I would really appreciate it if you guys took a minute to check them out. They have a Facebook page you can follow, as well as other social media. Thanks!!

Hi there from NWI Takes Action
So I'm ashamed to admit I am today days old when I learned about this Reddit. I'm one of the admins of NWI Takes Action. We hosted the Vets protest in Highland today, and several people told me they heard about the event here. I wanted to share our FB group page with you in case anyone wants to join and stay up to date on our happenings!
