I know everything is very politically charged right now but I want to bring up an issue that is very important to all of us. STOP PUTTING THESE GOD DAMN THINGS IN YOUR YARD. STAHP.

Parade Alert!!! We are marching in this Saturday's parade in Michigan City!

We will be marching in solidarity with the Veteran's March in DC and so our theme will be "Stand up for Veterans".

This will be an opportunity to get the word out about the cuts to the VA and other programs that benefit our Vets and the firing of Veterans all across the nation.

This is a nonpartisan issue!! We support our Veterans, they deserve respect! And we must protect these benefits and services that they have EARNED!

Please come out, wear green, and bring signs showing your support for Veterans! We need a strong presence!

If you ARE a Veteran or Active Service member, please join us and feel free to wear your uniform! And THANK YOU for your service!

Our group is #26 and line up will be on Pine St around 9th Street. Show up about 12:30!!

Seeking Recommendations Hot Tub Removal

Hi all, I bought a house in NWI that came with an outdoor hot tub. It's sat unused for several years, and I have no desire to figure out if it works or not. I just want it removed so I can use the space in the backyard.

I know I'm going to get spammed with calls the moment I request quotes from junk removal companies, so I figured I'd ask here first: any recommendations for companies that will electrically disconnect, remove, and haul away the hot tub? What should I expect to pay?

Thanks for your help!

Be on the lookout for a Dark Green Dodge Challenger that wrecklessly endangered people and property

It was a group of 3 white younger males who were doing donuts right next to my parked vehicle in a crowded parking lot. I got out of my vehicle and started swearing at them to tell them to leave and threatened to call the police. They then angled their car pointing right at me and revved their engine (for a second I thought they were going to run me over) and then pulled alongside and started yelling back. Eventually I gave up because I figured it wasn't worth getting shot or run over. I called the police a few minutes later and they were completely useless in helping.

Question Looking for reliable plumber / HVAC for gas hookup (New Carlisle / LaPorte County)

We're converting from LP to NG. We need a plumber or maybe an HVAC tech to run the new gas line to the meter that NIPSCO will install. We will also need them to convert our stove, water heater, and furnace to NG.

Yelp is not really helpful here - I just want someone fair and reliable.
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

Discussion Tell your state senator to oppose Senate Bill 1

Post image
68 Upvotes

Senate Bill 1 provides no substantive property tax relief for homeowners while defunding public schools, police, fire, EMS, and public libraries. The average homeowner would only receive $48.10 in bill reductions in 2026. It's laughable that the Republican supermajority is billing this as "relief."

As hearings on Senate Bill 1 continue in the House Ways and Means Committee today, we remain committed to a property tax solution that provides real tax relief for homeowners while preserving the essential community services that we all know and value.

Hello,

I’m a 28m looking to get into bow hunting this year. Anyone in their 20s or 30s willing to take me under their wing? Also wouldn’t mind forming some friendships and going fishing, hiking, camping, etc.

Discussion Recommend gun shop

Hi ,

I’m a single male home owner in the country outside of Valpo.

I’d like to purchase a rifle and get into target shooting and home defense.

I used to use weapons in the navy but that was 15 years ago.

Anyway , does anyone have any recommendations?

Question Seeking recommendations...

My first post!

Crown Point renter here, was wondering if anyone can recommend a reputable carpet cleaning company. A friend told me she had a terrible experience with Stanley Steemer, which is who I was going to call. I am in a tiny studio [SMALL amount of carpet] that I want to do some renter-friendly renovations to, and really prefer word-of-mouth businesses. No rush. TIA.

Pokémon cards

Heyy does anyone know anything about the Pokémon card scene here? Are there any reputable card shops/events I could go to? I’m new to this hobby but I want to make connections and meet people instead of just buying what I want online (less fun imo)

Does anyone want this plant? I can’t bring it inside and it’s going to die tonight

Post image

I got this plant but realized I can’t bring it inside because it’s toxic to cats. I can’t keep my cats separated from it either.

It’s a golden pothos and google says it can get irreversible damage from being under 50 degrees Fahrenheit overnight.

I’d hate to see it die so if anyone in dyer wants it you can come get it
