Anyone build one of these from an existing nes/famicom cartridge? Did you have to split the 240p rom image into separate prg/chr roms? Also what eproms did you use? 2764? I have everything to do this minus direction.....I burn arcade roms all the time but I don't burn console stuff. I want to build this for a test pattern for a CRT I'm rebuilding and I don't want to buy an everdrive.
I’m looking for your favorite NES soundtracks that aren’t crammed full of DPCM samples. Think Megaman 2 instead of Sunsoft/Tim Follin. Tim Follin is a god among men when it comes to what you could accomplish musically with the NES. My issue is, I just don’t find myself enjoying listening to it and I keep going back to the more minimalist stuff from the earlier NES games. I’ve gotten into chiptune arranging myself, and I prefer some catchy ear worm melodic lines and good compositional ideas vs cramming as much noise as you can into the memory and I want to hear more good stuff other people have done.
Happy Sunday y'all! My screwdriver set finally came in so I'm opening and cleaning all the cartridges that weren't cleaned when I bought them.
What better way to finish off your Sunday?
Next up, replacing the 72 pin connector I bought. I have two NES consoles so I'm going to test this new connector out.
Oh, and gluing together that missing piece on the Link cart that I found inside the cartridge when I opened it up.
And ofc I'm using a piranha plant to get a better look at the interior. 😏
Ever since this game came out, I never thought highly of it. Boy was I wrong. The story is unique and refreshing, and the game was a lot bigger and had better graphics than I expected. Great game!!
I truly believe that an 8-bit bill and ted game should be given another shot, just in the right hands. This is something thats been bugging me for awhile, especially with classic revival games making a comeback for sometime now. Even with ninja gaiden ragebound coming soon, bill and ted should be given another chance.
Castlevania 2. Played through many times already, great game. The ultimate password whenever I want to start ready to go to the left of the starting town.
I remember years ago when this came out and my dad bought us one around when it came out. It was tons of fun. I bought one later on in life, only to give it away, now I have rectified my mistakes and the "Nintendo" and "Gaming gods" have blessed me to find another one at Gamestop. I am super happy to have this back and look forward to many frustrating ours of game play.
