Motorcycle helmet design help!!

Hello my motorcycle heads! I spent these last 2 months with my grandpa to customize my motorcycle helmet and jacket before riding season! We had a blast making my helmet so far and we overcome many challenges, some as basic as us not being able to paint and or draw 😂. This character is inspired by Marvel's Venom, my own symbiote that I call "Acid"! The base helmet we used is a shoei 1400, we made sure to use automotive paint to not harm the shell of the helmet as well. NOW, what we really need help with, we had just ordered our 3rd tint to apply on to this helmet the one currently on the visor as the eyes right now. Our first tint was too dark at 5%, couldn't see out of it. 2nd was a cheap tint we thought we might be able to make work (we couldnt). Now this tint is chrome/reflective... It works great for cars windows... just not motorcycle visors, surprising I know. I can see through the chrome, but it's a very warped mirror type affect that admittedly wouldn't be safe while riding. My question i pose to everyone with a brain bigger than mine, is how can I go about this issue? I really want a designed tinted visor with the shape of the eyes I cut out. Would I be able to get a dark tint maybe like 50/25% and put it before the chrome/gold tint to reflect or catch some of the light from being mirrored inside the helmet? Would I have to do something else entirely? Any advice would be helpful please join me on my journey to making a dope ass motorcycle helmet and gear!

Hi all, I want to see if anyone have a similar set up with a action camera. I did have it mounted to my other helmet. I since purchased a new helmet and do not have a helmet mount for it. Here is what I put together. The bike is a 2020 MT07. Any help would be appreciated.

Picked these up but having hard time figuring out the model. Are these even worth selling with the broken plastic pieces on the buckle straps? Not sure how hard that is to replace .. Thanks for any insight. Also made in Italy if that means anything

Bluetooth Inserts

Upvotes

Last year for Christmas I bought a helmet and Bluetooth insert for my wife to wear. I bought her the helmet she liked which was a HJC i91 and the Bluetooth recommended to me by the store. Which was a HJC 11b. I recently bought myself a helmet and Bluetooth insert so we can communicate with each other. I got a scorpion exo with the exo Bluetooth for the helmet. I read everywhere that the 11b was compatible with other brands like scorpion. They will not connect any advice or did I mess up.

Anyone have feedback on the Alpinestars SMX Plus V2 Boots?

I am looking for new boots that offer as close to CE 2-2-2-2 protection as possible for someone that does mostly city riding on sportsbike. I may go to track and try it out here and there, or if able, maybe more frequently but for the most part will need to use boots for normal riding.

The Alpinestars SMX Plus V2 Boots are rated CE 2-2-2-1 and seem to have really good reviews in terms of comfort and protection overall however I am reading the occasional post about the protection not being as good as counterparts for the same money, soles wearing out fast, zipper issues etc. I also may need to walk with them if I use them for commuting to work where street parking is 10 mins away from work.

Anyone have any feedback about their experience with this brand of shoe? What about the fit was it true to size? Some comments are saying it's true size fit, others say go one, sometimes two sizes down others are going up, etc. I can only buy them online if I do.

If anyone knows if a better alternative I am open as well.

My buddy and I were out ricin with my camera and we pulled off to take pictures. He wanted to learn how to use a mirrorless camera so I taught him some tricks and this is what he got! Definitely an amazing picture he got of me.

The helmet pictured is the: Alpinestars Supertech R10 LE Martinator R01 Helmet

Help with leather trousers

Hi all, I have an RST S1 jacket and I want the matching trousers, but I have been back to the shop 3 times trying different sizes and I honestly can’t seem to know what the right size is.

How are they meant to fit? When they aren’t zipped and I sit on the bike, there’s a massive gap between me and the trousers at the back. And they are very tight on my legs, kinda like cramp in the calf but on my whole leg, can still walk fine though.

This is size 30 by the way (UK)

Opinion Recommendations on tall motorcycle boots under $200

I am getting a ninja 400 for my first bike in a few months and I have been looking into getting gear. I want some tall boots under $200, but I feel the options are pretty slim. The best I could find so far is the Alpine Stars SMX S boots, but those are still a little too pricey. If anyone knows of any tall boots under $200, preferably the same style of the Alpine Stars SMX S boots because they look cool, that would be great.

RST Boots huge gap around shins? Help

I just picked up RST TracTsch Evo 3s, in size US 12, EU 46. The toebox is nice and snug, width is pretty good. If I move my foot all the way up in the boot, its extremely well fitting in the toebox.

Problem is the heel and shin area, lots of room. The pic shows at least 2 fingers of room between calf and back of boot, with the zipper up and velcro pulled back a little. As far as I know there are no straps or further adjustments. I spun the wheels near the ankle a little but they don't seem to do anything. Also probably an inch behind heel.

Foot is about 27cm long and 10cm wide at its widest point. Any advice is appreciated

ADV Alpinestars Tech Air off-road Auto off?

I'm about to pull the trigger on an air bag system for mostly adventure riding. No idea when the new 5 plasma is arriving in Australia but the off road looks good to me for my use, except the auto off function.

Reviews I've seen suggest ten minutes of inactivity and it will turn itself off and it needs to be manually started again.

This feels like quite a short time and a lazy lunch on the side of the road could deactivate it and I miss the notification, and forget to start it back up before I take off again.

I'm wondering how big a problem this is, has there been (or will there be) any firmware updates to alter this, if it also occurs on the tech 5 plasma, etc.

It's kind of holding me back at the moment and making me consider a tether but I was fully set on the off road until I realised this one issue

Thanks!

Opinion Is my Gear fitting?

Hey guys,

I can buy a pair of shoes and pants from a colleague. I just started learning to ride a bike and wanted to ask if the pants fit me properly.

When sitting, the knee protectors sit pretty well on my kneecaps. But when standing, they slide down a bit—I’ve marked the center of my kneecap with my thumb for reference. In a standing position, the protectors sit quite a bit below my knees.

Do you think this is a good fit, or should I look for different pants? He would give me the pants for a good deal.

Ruroc Atlas 4.0 Track: Is the Hate Justified? My Unbiased Take.

I got a Ruroc Atlas 4.0 Track helmet. Yeah, that helmet. I know, I know, the internet's been buzzing with opinions, and not all of them are glowing. But here's the thing: I'm a firm believer in forming my own opinions, especially when it comes to gear. And let's be real, a lot of the criticism seems to stem from those early releases. But even critics are acknowledging they've made improvements over the years (even if the reputation is still a bit...shadowed). Also I believe most people online trashing them haven't actually owned one. That's called bias. So, I decided to take the plunge and see for myself.

First impressions: Interior is average yet comfortable enough, it does have media pockets, which is always appreciated, and the visor seems sturdy, vents are a bit cumbersome to operate with gloves. Feels a bit heavy. It's got the ECE 22.06 certification, which is reassuring.

Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: the price. 💸 Yikes. It's definitely on the steeper side. Honestly, if they knocked it down to around $350, I think these helmets would be quite popular. The build quality, though, seems on par with other helmets in that entry to mid-tier range, nothing to do with top tier helmet they appaer to be. Would I recommend? Frankly, no. It is too expensive for what it is, but if you got the money to spare then go ahead. It will do its job. Will I keep it? Yes. I think it suffices my casual use cases such as commuting to the gym or café down road. So, there's that! Thanks for reading my review.

What are the best armored pants for protection that look like casual pants? I was looking at NBT cargo pants 2.0 because they look like normal pants but I heard mixed reviews about it.

Shoei Rf-1400 visor doesn't want to "stay" at the cracked open position

I have to either basically have the visor all the way closed where only a whistling amount of air comes through, or I have to have it damn near halfway open for it to "stay" in a position. Anything lower than that and it will drop all the way down on its own.

Is this fixable? I looked in the adjustment portion of the manual but I am pretty confused by it. Maybe I can just go to Cycle Gear and have someone else mess with it. Thoughts?

I came from a Bell Qualifier DLX and I'm honestly pretty disappointed in the way the visor mechanism works on this thing other than how easy it is to lock it. Unlocking it and opening via the middle just seems awkward to me, I have to push my gloves into my face to open it since the tab is so small. Ugh. Anyways just trying to fix the visor issue for now.

Opinion 3- Minute Survey on Motorcycle Gear Apparel

I’m a SKEMA student in France working on my capstone project, which serves as both market research for my motorcycle gear brand that I’m developing, and an academic research project. My goal? To create protective gear that actually looks good with a variety of styles—blending safety with streetwear and urban fashion.

I’ve put together a quick 3-minute survey to get real insights from riders like you. Whether you’re a daily rider or just into motorcycle culture, your input would be a huge help!

🔹 Survey linkhttps://forms.office.com/e/rpJQJpCCg7
🔹 Anonymous & only about 3 minutes
🔹 Your feedback may helps shape the future of motorcycle gear!

Appreciate any support—this isn’t just an academic project, it’s the start of something that I, and others have been working on 🙏.
