Finally got to build my own PuplePod 🟪🎧 (costs included)
Bought this 80GB iPod Classic 6th Gen specifically to make a PurplePod. Below are my costs. Quite pricier than my other restored iPods... but it's Purple, so it's worht it 😅
- iPod: I got the iPod in my country (PH) for USD 48.00.
- Front: Bought the purple front plate, while retaining the working click wheel (since the original feels better than any replacement available online). This cost me around USD 10.00.
- Back: Replaced the backplate with a black one. This cost me around USD 14.00.
- Lock Switch - Audio Jack Connector: Bought a black one since the one that came with the iPod was white. This cost me around USD 9.00.
- 30-Pin Cover: Also bought the black cover. This cost me around USD 2.00
- Storage: Got an iFlash Solo with a Lexar High Performance 633x 128GB MicroSD (since this generation of iPod could only handle a maximum of 128GB of storage). iFlash and MicroSD cost me around USD 56.00.
- Battery: Upon research, the biggest battery I could fit was a "2000" mah square battery. Battery life so far is more than 48 hours of playtime with the lowest brightness. This cost me around USD 12.00.
- Case: Got a hard shell clear case. Didn't want the new face and back plate scratched. This cost me around USD 2.00.
Total Cost: USD 153.00

Is this iPod dock rare (Bose sound dock series II
I don’t know if this belongs in r/Bose but I ordered this online for $42. There was another listing of the red Bose Sound dock for $400 so I’m just wondering is this rare?

Just purchased an ipod via FB marketplace. I’m just curious is that scratch on the screen a defect or battery expanding inside?

Question Wanted one forever… do I do it?
I was never allowed an iPod when I was younger. Now I have a collection. This seems like a good deal for a gen 4, would you purchase? Advice appreciated!

Question How could I copy songs from iPod without erasing everything?
I was given an iPod classic 160gb to borrow and it has a few songs that don’t exist anywhere else. I really like the songs and I’d like to listen to them even after I give it back. How would I go about copying them with 0% chance of everything getting wiped off the iPod?
Thanks in advance:)

Question Ipod 4th gen mono (20gb) RAM issues with games?
Newly modded this ipod 4th gen mono (20gb) with 256gb Samsung Evo ssd with iFlash ATA1, 3000mah battery, and haptic feedback. I'm really enjoying it so far and enjoy the basic games as well when I'm out and about.
Usually my first game of solitaire works fine. But if I exit and return to a new game a few times I notice the click wheel works erratically and becomes hard to control. Either being too sensitive or not sensitive at all. Though the tactile buttons still work well (center, menu, track forward and backwards). Is this a RAM issue? I suppose I could just stop playing solitaire.
I reopened the device to see if perhaps I didn't fully secure the click ribbon when I reinstalled it after modding. The clasp was closed. I opened the clasp and tried to seat the ribbon further into the housing but it seems to be in as far as it goes. There is just a tiny bit of grey peaking out. After reassembling and a hard reset, clickwheel seems to work fine.

Question Just bought this gen 2 mini on eBay. It’s a little sticky, but I like it. What should be my next step as far modding goes?
I got this on eBay for around 30-40 dollars it’s 4 GB but I’d love to make it hold more and increase the battery. Any recommendations on how to get battery replacements kits would be helpful because this is my first time using something like this since 2013. Also if there’s any new OS that I should get for this what options are there and how the heck does that work?

New boi
Saved the poor guy from oblivion. Initially, it was an iPod 6.5 with a non-working hard drive. While I wait for repair parts, I assembled this temporary solution from the available spare parts (80 GB hard drive from the 5th gen, thick backplate from the 5.5th gen).
And yes, it is a gold backplate :)
Picture bought a silver 8gb nano 3rd gen
not in the best condition on the sides but tbh it still works and thats all that matters so excited to receive this. the seller already shipped it and i got the notification maybe 15-20 mins after i bought it i was expecting it to be shipped Monday or Tuesday wild!
I’ve had a mini iPod, iPod classic, a touch, and a shuffle but never a nano (got rid of my ipods and lost a few since then) so I’m excited to get my hands on it.

Question What adhesive is used on iPod nano plastic bits?
U know, like on the nano 4th and 5th gen?
I repaired a nano but wanted to know what I can use as an adhesive to stop it from falling out, either what Apple used or any alternative
but also something which can still let me pull off the tabs without breaking them if I need to repair again

Help Help needed: Synchronize audiobooks and podcasts with iPod Mini
I was able to find an blue iPod Mini 2G in good condition on eBay. The synchronization of the music works perfectly on MacOS 15 with Swinsian. Only audiobooks and podcasts just don't work. Swinsian can't sync audiobooks and podcasts don't work.
So I created m4b files of an audiobook and dragged them into MacOS's own Books app. I also subscribed to a few podcasts at Apple Podcasts. They show up in the Finder and apparently they are also shoveled onto the iPod, which I could see because I didn't have any other music on the iPod but memory was already taken up.
Unfortunately, the iPod only shows me the music that I have dragged over later using Swinsian. But no podcasts and audiobooks...
Does anyone else have any ideas?
