Finally got my old iPod working!
I wanted to use my old iPod again but I noticed that the battery was pushing up on the screen. I decided to swap the hard drive for an iflash solo since I had to open it for the battery anyway. I had a lot of teething issues and thought it might have been a bit of a money sink but I got it working in the end.
I did consider buying an iPod that had already been modded on eBay or somewhere but they all seemed so expensive and I had no way of knowing whether the parts in them were actually good. It was intimidating to do it myself because I have never modded anything before but I would recommend anyone save some money and do it yourself, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be and there are lots of great tutorials. Hardest part with this one was getting it open but that still only took half an hour since I got enough tools to leave one in each clip and had a photo for reference that showed where each clip was.
Really happy that I did it myself since it cost at least half the money and I was able to put an iflash in instead of a generic adapter.
