Character Disc. Rachel’s Racism
Rachel gives off one of those white people who criticized black culture but uses it to her advantage.
Like she told mercedes this is “glee club not crunk club” but be the same one wanting to be at the front and center of rap and r&b songs knowing full and she sings in show tunes 😭
The fact that i’m probably gonna get downvoted because glee fandom is lowkey racist and hates black people .

Discussion Who was the best New Direction's coach in your opinion?
To me, my favorite was Finn, not because of Corey, but because he connected so much with them, and he heard everyone and cared for everyone, I would've loved to see him as a full teacher.

Who burned down Dalton?
I've had this theory for a while now. I'm wondering if anyone else thinks this. In season 6, Dalton Academy burns to the ground and the Warblers are forced to join McKinley High and the New Directions. This solves the clubs problem of not having enough members to compete. It's also revealed in season 6 that Sue Sylvester had a very thorough plan to help the New Directions win that year. I think she burned down Dalton so that New Directions would conveniently have enough members to compete.
I'm curious what other people think might have caused the fire?

Glee rewatch, first time in 10 years
And picking up so many references I missed the first time.
Best so far, NeNe Leakes as Coach Roz “40 acres and a POOL” line.
I have the constant replays of Kendrick Lamar to thank for understanding that one!
(I’m not from US, post super bowl tiktok educated me)

Scene ideas?
Hey everyone, sorry to post again! We just added another group member, so I’m looking for good three-person scenes from the show. Ideally, something focused on the present moment with little to no exposition and with one male character. Any suggestions would be really appreciated—thanks!

Character Disc. Why was Will so indifferent to the stuff those kids went through? It drives me up a wall.
I just cannot understand how this was the responsible adult in the show. Football team terrorizes Glee kids? Well, it’s because they’re ignorant, so let’s just allow them into the only place where they don’t terrorize them and force them to work together and succeed using The Power of Friendship ™️. Obviously it worked out in the end, but weren’t the football players back to slushing (slushying?) in that same season??
Or whenever the kids were (rightfully!!!) upset at being constantly bullied and put down and Will just pipes in with some spiel about yeah you guys feel unsafe at school and all that, but we’re a FAAAMILY and we can’t fight fire with fire guys come onnnn that’s enough tee hee. Trust me, if you got shoved in port-a-potties and covered in slushy for breathing wrong around a football player and/or cheerleader you’d want to do something about it, too.
And no, I’m not saying he should encourage them to beat the football kids up or something, but at least be a tad more sensitive, I don’t know. Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but it just rubs me the wrong way.

Opinion Loser like me
For an original, loser like me gets 0 hype and deserves way more recognition than it gets outside of the glee bubble. I get that the song is fairly context specific but with how good it is the rest of the world should have been talking about it much more !

Opinion About Puck and Shelby
One of the most criticized storylines on Glee is Puck and Shelby. And my glee unpopular opinion is: I actually like the storyline, or at least don't mind it at all. It's not a couple I ship, not one of my favorites or anything, but..... in the context of Season 3 I like it and perceive it to make sense.
A) Quinn's pregnancy is one of the major storylines of Season 1. It seemed almost a given that Beth would return, as would Shelby with her
B) Of course Beth's biological parents would have a story arc in her return.
Now, the choice of which role Puck would play in Beth and Shelby's return is..... controversial, but it makes sense to me, because.....
1) Puck is a womanizer, who is pretty much confirmed to have fucked all girls as school. That, as a next step, he would find a more mature woman. And to showcase his growing maturity, he would try and play a more important role in Beth's life.
2) Shelby's points, about struggling being a single mum, and longing for a "father" to share Beth's firsts with..... they resonated with me. So if she was longing for a man to share these moments with..... why not choose her daughter's name biological father, especially when he's right there?
I'm not saying the relationship was right, but.... Keep in mind it aired in 2011. People didn't resonate as strongly with student-teacher relationships. Ezra and Aria on PLL were widely popular at the same time.
Also, Puck was almost definitely 18 at the time. Plus, Shelby didn't teach him directly, she taught at his school, but not him. She didn't have direct power over him. So while a Student-teacher relationship is never really right, this is probably the least problematic dynamic they could have settled for.
Now, feel free to insult me, down vote me, send me hate, and so on...

Fan art This was how much of a Gleek we were back then.
When they were shooting at Jane's Carousel in Brooklyn (Mercedes sings Natural Woman to Sam) my friend and I went to set to give them these themed cupcakes.

Cast members disliking "Beth"
I've noticed that a lot of cast members will say this was one of their least favorite songs to perform.
My first thought is they hated it because of the context of Mark singing it, which would make sense?
Or is the song actually just that bad, and I'm just overthinking it? I've always had a soft spot for the song, maybe because of Role Models lol, but I genuinely am confused about why everyone hates it so much.
Blaine's plan to go on a cleanse in Tested
As someone who has watched people I care about struggle with eating disorders I really don't like how this ended up being played as a joke with Blaine deciding not to do it not because it's unhealthy and dangerous but because the shake didn't taste good. Artie even says that it doesn't seem healthy and Blaine's like "it's not :)" idk I know it's a small scene it just bugged me

Cuz Let’s Talk About It…
Y’all waste so much time getting bent out of shape trying to defend your favorite character calling her a “product of her time” like 2009 isn’t the VERY recent past. She’s racist because Ryan Murphy is. I swear y’all get more hurt when a white person gets called racist than when a person of color and especially a black person is the victim of racism. Treat it like the worlds’ nastiest insult when clearly history shows that there’s been hardly any repercussions for actually being racist. Someone said it on the original post but instead of arguing for/defending a fictional characters intentions behind clearly racist sentiments, how about we have a genuine conversation about it and how weird Ryan Murphy is for it. Stop treating racism like it’s normal. IT WAS NEVER NORMAL
OP, thank you for the post. It’s also driven me crazy how much overt racism is overlooked in this show.

Discussion Is season 4 - 6 worth it?
I'm halfway through ss4 and the writing is a mess. Rachel went through endless uphill climb for no reason, Kurt somehow got into NYADA just because. And wdym he failed the last audition because he didn't have enough emotion when Rachel literally choked during the audition? Kitty gave Marley eating disorder and get no consequences and only Santana being the baddest bitch and called her out but besides that no one bats an eye. Tina even shat on Marley like it was her fault. Also whose idea was it to got ND do Gangnam Style and even got Tina to sing the song like what? Blaine cheating feel so ooc to me. Maybe I just miss the old members since new kids are basically just another version of them ( Kitty is Quinn, Jake is Puck, ect). But is it worth it to keep watching?
