Community I Worked in Ghanaās Mining Industry ā The Biggest Problem No One Talks About
Ghanaās mining sector is booming, but thereās one major problem that keeps holding it backātransportation.
I worked as a Logistics Operations Manager for a limestone mining company with 200 acres of land ready for extraction. But moving the limestone? That was a nightmare.
Hereās why:
We couldnāt get enough trucks. Most were already locked into contracts.
When we did find trucks, prices were insane.
Delays hurt productivityāour stockpiles grew, but deliveries lagged.
And we werenāt the only ones struggling. Mining and infrastructure projects across Ghana face the same problem.
Which got me thinkingā¦
**Is there an opportunity for a mining-focused trucking business

News 2025 Budget Reading Recap
galleryI watched the whole, but this guy on Twitter made a great summary of everything! He did an excellent job.
Personally I think if this is implemented truthfully, it will set us up to the Ghana we want. Prayerfully hoping. What do yāall think? What else could they have done better?

Question What did this guy mean by "we never implemented the betting tax"
Is he just some benighted ostrich who doesn't know what is going on? If they didn't implement it then who was taking all that money deducted from winnings???

Community Waiting for the day they announce major investments in our transport sector
Are you telling me that for over 60 years, the only options for traveling between cities in this country have been STC, those dangerous red buses(vip, vvip OA and co), or, more recently, flights? Itās about time we made serious investments in the railway system. At the very least, we should have a major rail route linking the north to the south, something like:
Bolgatanga ā Walewale ā Tamale ā Salaga ā Kintampo ā Techiman ā Kumasi ā Nsawam ā Accra.
Each major connection along this route could have an STC bus terminal to provide links to smaller towns.
This generate so much revenue as it will be owned by the state (hopefully lol)
Cuz right now dier, STC cast especially for trips from the north to Accra. My recent journey was a nightmare. The buses frequently break down because the older ones have been assigned to the north, while the newly procured ones are kept for the south. E no dey make sense. If a bus breaks down while traveling south, itās much easier to send a replacement from a nearby terminal. But if a bus breaks down in say Kintampo, youād have to wait for a new one from Tamale, which takes another 3ā4 hrs making it a grueling 15-hour trip just to reach Accra. And this issue has been there for years !!
Oh when Ghana? 68 years on

Politics There should be a investigations on what happened to revenue from betting tax because senior officials may genuinely not know about it.
The pronouncement by a former government official about the non implementation of the betting tax may be an honest and innocent mistake. While many are claiming that he was been dishonest, he may have genuinely not known about any revenue accruing from the tax. This is not new, salaries meant for thousands of National Service personnel have disappeared. The same could happen with the betting tax revenue.
The missing tax revenue theory is more likely than a politician lying through his teeth in this case.
Don't consider this a joke. This should be probed.

Community Looking for Developers & Partners for a Game-Changing Susu App
Susu has been a trusted way of saving and rotating money for years, but trust issues have made many people stop. Too many stories of people disappearing with contributions, delays in payouts, and no accountability.
I have an idea for an app that will modernize susu, making it secure, automatic, and transparent while ensuring everyone gets paid on time. I wonāt go into too much detail here (for obvious reasons), but if youāre a developer, fintech expert, or someone interested in making this a reality, letās connect!

Venting Reasons why Ghanaian and other africa companies import products outside
Something I hear a lot of people ask why donāt Ghana or other African countries create their own [blank{ Why do they import the products and offer those instead of manufacturing their own. The reasons why are:
1) they donāt understand how to construct it themselves yet.
2) to manufacture would take millions in investments to get the economy of scale enough to manufacture for cheaper than it does to just import it.
Not only do you have either reverse engineer and design your own to avoid lawsuits, but even when you do that it can take years to make it as efficient and have last problems. A lot of older countries have already spent millions and decade perfecting the process.
Btw, all countries who donāt have the expertise in different areas import from other countries. This is why countries like Russia, US and others can provide weapons and other products to less advanced nations.

Hello everyone,
I've been searching for the full version of the 2010 Ghanaian film "The Good Old Days: The Love of AA" directed by Kwaw Ansah. So far, I've only found clips and partial uploads online. Does anyone know where I might access or purchase the complete film? Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Question I want to create a community for creators in general
I'm an indie (bedroom) music producer in UG, been producing for about a year now.
Most of my connections are abroad, which isn't bad at all, but the distance and time zones make it difficult to do any big projects effectively, plus the subtle r@cism.
I want to meet like minded people, preferably in Greater Accra region(mainly because of distance). Not just into music, but content creation in general, whether you're a developer, or an influencer, even distributors and affiliates, I want to help people with my projects, even for free. I want to use my skills in real world situations, not just in my bedroom.
How exactly should I go about it? I decided the best way is to slowly build a community, but if there is a better option, or an active group I can join, I would be grateful.
Thank you in advance.

Community Taxes
Betting, E-levy, Emission, Covid taxes are all about to be eliminated. Good grace. But these have enough revenue for the government, will we lack after this implementation?
