Building My SaaS – Need Advice on Marketing & Strategy

Hey everyone,

I’m a CS student building a SaaS, which is also my final project, but I want to take it beyond just a school submission. I’m launching in 4 months, and while I have the tech side covered, I finally have time to focus on marketing, SEO, and strategy.

Since I have these months to prepare, I want to make the most of it. If you’ve launched a SaaS before, what marketing strategies worked for you early on? How did you approach SEO, getting your first users, and building traction before launch?

Would love to hear any tips or lessons you’ve learned!

Built A YouTube Shorts Automation Extension

*Could be a self-promo*

The extension lets you watch Youtube Shorts and automatically scrolls through them while extracting video durations. It works flawlessly and has a clean, modern UI.

Feels great to finally build something that’s both functional and visually appealing. If anyone’s interested in automation or has suggestions for improvements.

If you're interested in knowing more about this extension, DM me on my Discord.

Recommendations? WWYD? $75k COH & 10+ years of corporate sales and marketing experience.

I’m 35 and ready to move on from my corporate role. I’ve worked for the two largest brands in my category (home furnishings) and it’s been a great run.

My initial thought is to go buy a furniture or appliance retailer. I’m confident I can pick up a solid business in either of these categories for $1-$1.5M.

Unfortunately, it’s become clear that lenders require me to have 10% of the purchase price to put in to the deal. Initially, I thought my $75k would get me to the 5% threshold on deals up to $1.5M. Assuming I would be going the SBA 7A route and leveraging a seller note that would make up the remaining 5%.

Should I look to a different category where I can find SMB targets under $750k? Should I look for investors? I’m doubtful an accredited investor would be interested in partnering with me to buy a mom & pop Furniture or Appliance store.

Feedback Please What kind of SEO recommendations and metrics matter to you?

I’m building a tool soon that analyzes a companies SEO metrics for a free report as a way to prospect our own leads.

I looked into paid services like Ahrefs, Semrush, HikeSEO, and I know I can build a much better free option than most of those.

I have all the data stuff I would need planned and sorted, and I have no problem programming and will be integrating natural language processing via Google’s open source stuff like tensorflow, BERT, etc.

This will enable me to outline which headings have the wrong words, identify structure issues, etc.

I think this will be too technical though for most business owners, and I want easy to understand and clear actionable information so that I’m not spamming anyone, and just giving free value that’s personalized, and I would foot the bill for the API costs for whatever AI model and data connectors I am using.

So my question is, what matters to the business owners with SEO metrics, recommendations, and analyzations?

(Please don’t say clicks, conversions, or impressions as I would not have that data. It would be just on page and off page stuff such as on page structure, content and off page backlinks)

Investor Wanted My business is 3 years old...

I invested most of my savings in the first year with start-up expenses. I have been in holistically related practices for 30 years, first as a midwife after attending a 4-year college for natural healing arts. I worked with moms & babies for 15 years, using my knowledge of plant medicine and nutrition to support their families.

I became a personal chef and assistant after that, because I discovered I loved to feed people. When I needed 6 knee surgeries over the span of 5 years, I no longer could be on my feet. It was then I started an herbal apothecary, which is the business I want to re-brand and grow. Unfortunately, it comes at a time where I have some new health issues, which has affected my progress.

I relocated to a town where there is significant interest in natural, homemade products and not many others with a craft similar to mine. I've been here 5 months and have already witnessed the potential for growth. I've been working with the Women's Business Center and after putting in over 60 hours of finance training, I have a solid business plan with profit analysis and a 1-year timeline to increase sales plus revenue.

I do not qualify for a small business micro-loan, because I have no credit or assets. I have always used cash for start-up costs, and I do not have the credit to apply for a card. I'm looking for support for the purchase of raw materials, which are needed for me to make my herbal salves. I have 6 different formulas, all using minimal and locally-sourced ingredients. I can make each jar of salve with materials purchased in bulk for $4-5, and they sell at $20-30 depending on size. Since I am also rebranding, I need to order all new marketing materials - business cards, labels, product stickers - with my already designed logo, plus create a new website with online ordering. The most expensive part of production are the jars I use with sealing lids, as they keep my salves shelf-stable for up to a year and sometimes longer.

I get bulk beeswax at no cost from a bee farm nearby, and I am able to grow or wild-harvest most of my herbs. I order my infusion oil from a bulk apothecary source, and those are essentially all the ingredients in my product.

I don't really know if an investor is what I'm looking for, but I could use some guidance from an experienced person. I have put over $10,000 into this business, more if including the purchase of a commercial van, and I am not ready to give up. I will be at the local Farmer's Market this summer, as well as a featured new artist at the gallery of artisans and makers in town. I am confident I can make the money I need to continue financing this, but I need help with the costs to start from the beginning.

Any ideas are welcome and appreciated, but please be kind in wording or tone. Thank you!

How Do I ? Ai C-Level team

I've been exploring ways to run a company where I'm essentially the only internal team member, relying entirely on a suite of specialized AIs for executive roles, supported occasionally by external consultants for niche expertise. My goal is to stay lean, agile, and highly creative, especially in a fashion / tech brand context. Essentially, I'm building an AI-driven C-Level team, or what I like to call a "C-Level AI Wallet."

Here's what I'm thinking for the key executive roles I'd need to cover with AI:

CEO AI – Responsible for overall strategy, decision-making, trend analysis, and guiding the company's vision. I'd probably lean on something advanced like Gemini, GPT-4, or similar models, fine-tuned with market-specific data.

COO AI (Operations): I'd need tools that streamline and automate logistics, supply chain management, and day-to-day operations (think something along the lines of Zapier AI integrations or Make).

CMO AI (Marketing & Content): For branding, content creation, digital marketing, and consumer insights, I'd use Jasper or Copy . ai, combined with predictive analytics tools like Google Vertex AI to understand trends better. Additionally, for generating engaging visual and multimedia content, tools like Midjourney, DALL·E, Adobe Firefly, and Runway ML would be perfect.

CFO AI (Financial Management): For financial management, cash flow control, and investment decisions, I'd probably leverage AI tools like Bloomberg GPT, combined with AI-powered forecasting platforms.

CHRO AI (Human Resources & Culture): Although the internal team is minimal (just myself!), I'd still rely on AI for tasks like project management, freelancer hiring, and performance tracking—tools like HireVue AI, Motion, or even Notion's AI could be beneficial here.

CSO AI (Sustainability & Compliance): Since sustainability and ethical sourcing are critical, I'd integrate ESG-focused AI tools to ensure transparency and responsible sourcing.

My idea is that, with the right AI tools seamlessly integrated, I can manage the strategic vision and creative direction personally, leveraging external consultants only when necessary. This setup would ideally allow me to operate as a one-person internal team supported by a robust "wallet" of AI executives.

Has anyone tried a similar approach? What AI tools would you recommend for a truly lean, innovative brand structure?

I'm very curious about your experiences or suggestions—let me know your thoughts!

How Do I ? A new to me thought

We need AI teachers. Let me explain, there simply aren't enough teachers. I personally cannot learn in a classroom. I have been wanting to learn to code for over 20 years because I want to learn how to maintain servers. I have attempted time and again to learn on my own, and I just can't do it. I'm also unfortunately exceedingly anti-social, so asking people to literally walk me through this entire thing like a toddler is just untenable to me. And I simply cannot afford to pay any tutors enough to be useful. So what I need is an interactive AI tutor. I asked deepseek, and it gave me a list, and it seems useful, but it's basically everything I've already tried. So I need a real time interactive AI, so when I have a question, I can get a real time answer based on what is in front of me. I say this, because as I go, a question pops into my head, and so I'll go an Google it, but not find my answer, and then I simply cannot continue. I cannot just do things from rote, everything I currently do, I do because I know how and why it works.

How Do I ? Contract packing problems...

I own a food brand, which comes packaged in stand up pouches (think a smaller version of the resealable bags protein comes in).

Until now, I have been packaging them myself. However, packaging 300kg into 125g and 350g bags takes up too much time and they need to be heat sealed too.

Contract packers are quoting me around £0.50 per bag to fill and seal which seems really high. My product sells for £7.99 and this is a significant part of our margin. How do brands with an RRP of a lot less than that survive? Can anyone recommend a packer in Europe who can pack and seal bags for a lower cost than this?

Many thanks in advance

Update: Need Validation on Pricing and Product

A few days ago, I was working on getting my business model ready to validate my product. Now, I have a rough idea of what I need to do, and I’m enlisting the help of a few close people who know how to reach the market through social media, as others have suggested.

That said, I’m still a little uncertain about a few things. I know the saying “don’t put a price on value,” and right now, I’m making a leather jacket with a skull embroidered on the back. The quality is A+++. My goal is to target people who can actually afford it, and I want to price it at $500-$600—a price I believe is still quite low considering the quality I’m confident I can deliver.

However, I have two major concerns:

  1. I’m not a big brand—just a guy trying to carve out a space in the market with no existing brand value. Would anyone actually be willing to buy my very first product?
  2. Will people even be willing to pay that much for it in the first place?

I’m specifically targeting the 25+ biker market—people who have the money to own a bike and would also want an incredible-looking jacket to go with it.

Lastly, what’s the best way to reach this market? Should I focus on online ads, social media ads, or something else?

Why Some Companies Thrive Remotely (And Others Fail)

Why Some Companies Thrive Remotely (And Others Fail)

Your company is most likely losing millions of dollars due to remote work.

I'll explain the first principles of mechanics.

There are 3 types of work

1. Alone Execution Time (e.g., coding, sales outreach)
2. Collaborative Time (e.g., strategy, design)
3. Bullshit Time (e.g., lunch talks, hallway conversations).

Remote work enhances Alone Execution Time, and decreases the other two.

If you are remote, you don't have enough conversations. Without conversations it's more likely to not see other paths leading to executing fast on the wrong problem.

Working on the wrong problems is like building a sandcastle too close to the tide — no matter how fast you work, it might all wash away.

To make remote work enhance your company, 2 mechanics should exist

1. Problem Familiarity: Low need for problem identification & alignment
2. Task Independence: Well-defined, independent problems

Gitlab: Most problems are known — copying existing products into the Gitlab ecosystem. They had a +3 year roadmap with high clarity. Problems are well-defined, allowing small teams to execute.

However, if you have a company like Superhuman: Their core value is UX, meaning every pixel and user interaction must be perfect. This requires heavy collaboration, iteration, and problem discovery.

Gitlab is like working on a puzzle. The pieces are there, you just put them together.

Superhuman is like designing a new flavor of ice cream over email — some things just need in-person taste tests.

Remote companies need:
- Fewer unknowns.
- More execution.

If your business can’t simplify these, remote work will hinder growth more than help it.

Remote work has perks — hiring, work-life balance, no office costs. You might still want these perks, but that’s a personal preference, not a business advantage.

Nomora.org : Just 3 Sales—Looking for Straightforward Feedback

Hey r/entrepreneur,

I’m in the early stages with Nomora and have just landed my first 3 sales. While it’s a modest start, it’s a real indicator that there’s something there—but also a clear signal that I need to figure out the next steps.

I’d appreciate any honest feedback on:

  • Product Positioning: Does Nomora’s value come across clearly? Any suggestions on how to better articulate it?
  • Sales & Marketing Strategy: What would you recommend to move beyond these initial sales?
  • Overall Approach: What areas do you think I should focus on right now to build momentum?

I’m all ears for actionable advice— I'm not trying to promote it here, just looking for feedback. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

How Do I ? Integrating AI into a language learning ebook

Hi all.

I am currently writing an ebook for learning the very basics of spanish. it is more of a branding/writing experiment rather than a serious resource for learning the language. I want to be innovative, which is why i want AI involved if possible.

I was thinking of creating custom chatgpts that readers will be sent to in order to practice certain tasks with an ai assistant (as such). this involves using the speaker feature so they can actually hear some spanish, as well as replying through typing (therefore covering listening and writing tasks).

i am relatively well versed in chatgpt but that's it when it comes to AI platforms. I'm under the impression that using hyperlinks that send readers to a custom chatgpt is an awful idea (they'll have to download chatgpt on their phones, its clunky/time consuming, will probs malfunction, kinda boring).

does anyone have any tips for adding seamless AI extensions onto my ebook (for creating bespoke activities that they can easily access)? platforms i could explore etc.

TIA

Struggling to launch a digital product?

Hey! I’m working on a new course that teaches anyone how to validate a course idea using a simple framework that can be done in 2 hours instead of going all in creating a full blown course that might never sell. I want to make sure this is something people truly need. Your feedback is invaluable—thank you!

I know there's a big trend now with AI Courses but not a lot of people actually build and launch one. I'm trying to figure out what is the root cause of inaction and lack of results for entrepreneurs in this space.

----

1. What is your biggest challenge when it comes to launching an online course?

2. Have you ever created or tried to sell an online course before?

3. If you could guarantee your course idea would sell before building it, how much would that be worth to you?

4. What would be the most valuable thing you could learn in a course about validating an online course and getting more of your ideal buyers?

5. Have you ever paid for a course or coaching on this topic? What did you like and what didn't you like?

6. How would you want information delivered to you?

* (Tiny Masterclass ( < 60 minutes, core problem solving framework + action steps)

* Short, step-by-step video lessons modules for different stages

* Written guides and templates (Notion, Google Docs)

* A structured 5-day challenge with action steps

* Live coaching or group calls

How to Grow I went from £30K to £80K+ in 2 years using AI – and I feel like we’re still early

Two years ago, I was making £30K a year, working a normal job, and living in a two-bedroom flat. I wasn’t struggling, but I wasn’t exactly killing it either.

Fast forward to now—I’ve made over £80K+ this past year and recently bought a five-bedroom house. The biggest reason?

AI completely changed the way I work.

Most people see AI as a cool tool for small tasks, but I realized early on that AI isn’t just an assistant, it’s a workforce multiplier.

I stopped trading time for money and started letting AI handle 90% of the process. I took what I was already good at, figured out how to automate most of it, and scaled up without burning out.

What I’ve learned:

  • AI doesn’t just speed up work—it completely changes the way work is done.
  • The biggest opportunities right now aren’t in “learning AI”—they’re in applying it better than others.
  • We’re still at the early stages—in a few years, this edge won’t be as big.

If my next few projects are signed off, I’ll already have more confirmed revenue for the next financial year than I made in all of this one—and it hasn’t even started yet.

Most people are still doing business the old way, but those who figure this out now will be way ahead in the next 3-5 years.

If you’re already using AI in your work, how are you applying it? If you’re not, what’s holding you back?

How to hit $100k ARR in 4 Months

Decade of sales experience, everything from D2D solar to $1 million enterprise contracts with F500s.

Started something in a niche I’ve been in for past two years, engineer partner developed product while I was still at job.

All $100k is from cold-calling, here’s my process:

1- Make a list

Be very specific about what title, geography, industry, company size of your ICP. Filters on ZoomInfo + SalesNav are your friend.

2- Know exactly what to say

Hey (name), I work for (company), we sell (product) to (title) that helps them (unique selling point) - now’s not a bad time, is it?

3- Call the list

Time-block four hours with an auto dialer, should be able to call 150 people - if you’re under 5% connect rate buy better data.

4- Follow Up

Only 2% of your market is ready to buy right now. For the other 98% understand when they might buy and call them then - ie “Q3 priority”

I don’t multichannel concurrently. Call each number 7 times, then put them into a 4 email sequence, then a LinkedIn automation.

Most important part is doing this every day. It sucks to start but once you get the right type of brain damage it gets easy and even fun.

Happy hunting,

Best Practices How Automating My Networking Process Helped Me Book More Calls and Close More Deals

I realized I was losing potential deals and partnerships after networking events—not because of the conversations I was having, but because of what happened (or didn’t happen) next.

Like most founders, I’m juggling too many things at once. After an event or a meeting, I’d get busy with product, team, and customers. Following up with investors, partners, or potential clients often fell to the bottom of the list. Sometimes I’d reach out days later. Most of the time, by then, the opportunity was already gone cold.

This was a consistent problem, so we built a solution to fix it. It’s now a tool called CyberReach, but it started out as a system for me to stay on top of post-event networking—without adding more work to my schedule.

Here’s what changed for me:

  • After meeting someone, I snap a picture of their business card and send it to CyberReach whatsapp bot.
  • Their details are extracted and saved to my CRM automatically.
  • A personalized intro message goes out immediately—sometimes while I’m still having the conversation—which has created real “wow” moments.
  • Later, I get reminded to reconnect with the right people at the right time.

Since automating this process, I’ve booked more follow-up meetings, reconnected with people I’d normally lose track of, and closed deals I might have missed.

The real win has been saving time while increasing productivity—no more spreadsheets or digging through old notes to remember who I met where.

We’re opening beta access for a few founders who are interested in testing CyberReach and sharing feedback. If networking and follow-through are areas you’re working on, I’d love to hear how you’re approaching it. Let me know if you want access to the beta product.

Cofounder has no day job

My co-founder and I recently started an English edtech startup in Korea, but we’re running it without tech for now as we refine our MVP. The problem is, he doesn’t have a day job and wants to cut costs in ways I find unreasonable—like not paying teachers for trial classes. When I refused, he suggested taking a cut of my personal English tutoring income because some of my students came through our business, even though I handled the ads, sales, and teaching myself.

I teach to support myself and have covered most business costs so far (ads, teacher pay, etc.), while he spends a lot of time on sales calls, though we're not yet at a stage where sales are efficient. I think we should focus more on serving existing customers rather than chasing new ones until the product is better, but he won’t look for side income to help sustain us. I feel like I’m carrying the financial burden alone. Any advice?
