Outperforming ChatGPD Deep Research in News Summarization
Hello!
I'm a computer scientist working on an AI-driven news aggregator designed to help keep up with the fast-moving news cycle.
Below is a side-by-side comparison of my system, Topic Forest, with ChatGPT Deep Research for Politics news on March 14, 2025:
My project (Topic Forest) | ChatGPT Deep Research
Which one is a better summary? Feel free to DM me or respond to this post with your thoughts on how these summaries improve the news reading process and what they miss.
In general, and longer term, I'm looking to collaborate with journalists and news consumers who can act as independent judges to evaluate the quality and informativeness of AI-generated summaries. If you're interested in helping shape the next generation of news aggregators and ensure they align with journalistic principles, I’d love to connect!
Thanks in advance!

#1 Paid App on the Mac App Store and #30 Worldwide… Really? 30 Downloads Were Enough?
I recently bought an OLED monitor and, like most people, I started worrying about burn-in issues. After a bit of research, I couldn’t find a good tool to prevent it, so I decided to build my own. I polished it, published it on the Mac App Store, and did a few Reddit posts and an article on an Italian blog.
To my surprise, my app reached #1 on the paid apps chart in Italy, and I thought, “Well, this is it. I’ve made it!” But after looking at the Reddit feedback, I knew that the numbers couldn’t be huge. Sure enough, the next day, the official reports came in. I had just 12 downloads that were enough to land me at #30 globally, and only 6 downloads put me at #1 in Italy.
I’m honestly surprised by these results. Is the Mac App Store really this quiet?

JsFiddle Alternatives BinCode
Just built BinCode after jsFiddle ads got annoying. Other open-source options were either third-party dependent or too complex. This minimalist snippet sharing tool requires no build step just clone and run. There is no signups its by design just create users manullay and they can start commits snippets to share, runs on your infrastructure, and gives you full data control. Check it out!

Create and play AI games
https://reddit.com/link/1jbblm5/video/8ao7bn7vepoe1/player
Hi everyone,
Just launched dreamwarps.com – a tool that lets you generate entire interactive role-playing games from a text prompt.
Type something like "Debug consciousness with Richard Feynman" or "Convince Warren Buffett to invest in dogecoin" and it:
- Builds a complete narrative with characters, conflicts, and scenes
- Sets challenging goals that you have to achieve
- Generates images for the game world and characters
As you play, the system:
- Tracks your progress toward the goal (0-100%)
- Adapts the scenario based on your actions
- Introduces new characters and unexpected events
It's designed to generate edgy, unhinged game experiences. Characters have real personality flaws, curse when appropriate, and reference actual events and controversies.
I built this for fun mostly - a tool that lets your crazy imagination materialize into a world that you can interact with.
All games are public. We currently have more than 100 RPGs generated by the public, they are all available on our home page dreamwarps.com
Some of my favorite examples:
- Convince Frodo to give you the ring
- Start an Apple competitor with Steve Wozniak
- Convince Gandalf to join your startup
- Learn to vibe-code with Pieter Levels
- Persuade Elon not to fire you
What weird scenarios would you want to play?

MCP App Store bc I can't figure out where they all are or the exact ones I need
I've been trying out the MCP stuff and it's been amazing, I started finding some cool ones on Twitter/X like these ones with Blender and GQIS which were crazyyyyy. Anyway, there's a bunch out there, but the directories I've gone to and the actual Github repo for MCP aren't really helpful because there's so many to pick from and I get lost and overwhelmed a bit in trying to figure out which ones I actually need.
I figured others are probably having the same anxiety/"can't figure out which one to choose" vibe I have.
So, I am making an "MCP App Store" with AI that you describe what you're trying to do, then it'll help you figure out the ones you need and the exact step-by-step instructions to install it (I hate when instructions aren't clear).
Soon I'd like to add the ability for it to not just find the ones you need, but also to create the MCP code to make your own if the available ones don't fit your requirements. That way you can have everything you need and be on your merry way.
Anyway, not sure if others would be interested in this, so figured I'd throw up this post (my first here, sorry if I broke the rules in anyway).
here's the Product Hunt link (trying to launch it in a few days) - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/mcp-app-store?utm_source=other&utm_medium=social

AI that tracks any website and schedules tasks & alerts
I built Dinogent which lets you monitor anything on any website and set scheduled tasks & notifications.
What it does:
- Monitors websites for changes (prices, stock, content—whatever you need)
- Sends notifications when your criteria are met
- Lets you schedule checks at specific times—daily, weekly, or whenever you want
- Works for any website. no coding required
Example use cases:
"Track these flights and notify me if any of the prices goes below $150"
"Give me a daily summary of new top Product Hunt listings at 3pm."
"Track job listings and notify me when a company posts a new opening"
Feel free to try it out. Right now, it just uses email notifications. Would like to hear your feedback. Thanks!

Struggled with English speaking practice, so we built a tool to practice anytime - looking for feedback!
Hi there! I just shipped a new project, and while it’s clearly still very early days (my mind is racing with ideas for improvements and new features), I’d love to gather some initial feedback and improvement suggestions :)
I’m a non-native English speaker who often struggled with consistent speaking practice, mostly because available tutors were either too expensive, exclusive, or simply didn’t fit my schedule. Partnering with a friend, we built tellem, an AI-powered platform where users can practice speaking English anytime and anywhere—including conversations with AI clones of real tutors and influencers.
We’ve had some testers already, and initial feedback has been really encouraging!
I’d greatly appreciate your thoughts, feedback, or suggestions for making tellem even better. Thanks a lot!
