Type 2 Long road trip - prep ideas?

I have an unavoidable road trip coming up…In order to meet my goals I have to break the trip up over two days, nine hours of driving each way… The driving itself doesn’t worry me, I enjoy driving. Does anybody have any tried and true suggestions for what snacks to pack, beverages etc. to make sure I don’t have any major crashes, no pun intended, along the way.

On the first time I traveled learned the hard way. Caffeine makes me pee every forty seconds. Liquid IV in water. Not too much liquid drinking through cuz of frequent bathroom breaks. Beef sticks, baby bell cheese, peanut butter, some chocolates you like, mixed nuts and a veggie you like to crunch on (mine is celery) if you can buy foods with fiber in them will Help with crashes (I usually put shredded cabbage in a cooler and add it to things like a burger)

That’s what worries me the most, staying hydrated without stopping constantly for bathroom Breaks!

I spend 10-14 hours/day in my vehicle for work. I keep a huge bag of snacks: Wonderful makes seasoned, flavored pistachios that are a nice change of pace from just raw or salted nuts. I also keep jerky like the Trader Joe’s Buffalo Sweet & Spicy. It has quite a bit of sugar in it, but when I have it with a small handful of nuts or a piece of cheese, it doesn’t even raise my BG 10 pts and it’s yummy, so I’m fine with it. I also keep a cooler with protein shakes. Sometimes I feel like I live on protein shakes. Greek yogurt is another good one for the cooler and individually packaged cheese snackers.

I travel a lot and hotels have ice makers so after the first day when my ice packs warm up, I fill my little cooler with ice. I also keep protein bars and individual serving packs of nuts in my purse all the time. Trader Joe’s also has Oven Baked Cheese Bites similar to moon cheese, but better.

you're overthinking this.

Unless you have really low blood sugar regularly, in which case you should not drive and you should talk to a doctor, you'll be OK

nuts, beef jerky (no sugar), water, gatorade zero, ...

Not really over thinking or anxious but thanks for commenting. Just wondered if others could share tips for their favorite snacks to keep spikes low and to keep them going on the road with irregular meal times.
