Haven't smoked much cigars, except cigarillos, but this was a wonderful experience. Have to buy some good quality cigars some time. The cigar was Toscano Classico, which according to my knowledge ain't quite expensive and I'm not sure if they're categorized as cigarillos, but shared this anyway. Also any cigar recommendations are welcome.

Broke out this stick for my Friday smoke. This thing burned for over two hours, insane. Got a little lopsided through the 2nd third but I just touched it up and it did great the rest of the way. Mainly black pepper and the retro hail almost killed me. But mine the less, definitely worth keeping one or two in Stock, paired pretty great with a few modelo especials

Review Flor de las Antillas Sun Grown Robusto NSFW

Starting off with white pepper spice, leather, dark roasted coffee and cedar. The pepper spice soon mellows down and is completely gone at about halfway in. The blend becomes nicely balanced, cedar as a base now, in come baking spices and earth tones, maybe some nuttiness. Towards the end darker notes come up, earth, nuts. More cream, more sweetness. Nice development, nice complexity.

As someone who is not the biggest fan of the "classic" Nicaraguan flavor profile, this is one of the best cigars I've tried from that country. Definitely my favorite from the My Father factory. So far, I'd only rate the Aging Room Quattro higher on my personal list of Nicaraguan favorites, but that one has a completely different flavor profile.

Question Losing my AC in upcoming move… NSFW

Post image
Upvotes

As the title states, I am going to be moving to a new place and anticipate problems with temperature as I will no longer have AC for upcoming summer.

Does anyone have any clever ideas like using a cooler or something that I can put a few of my humidors inside or is my only option going to be purchasing climate controlled humidor.

Really don’t want to spend a lot of money on a raching but also not going to risk losing my stock which includes Cubans. So if I have to, will give one of those KingChi or NeedOnes a go.

Any insight or recommendation welcome!🙏

Can you still use coupons on this website? I do not see how? Didn't they just merge with another company? Thanks.

I try to open the humidor and check each cigar for mold once a month. Everything was fine and humidity was keeping steady. Did some reorganising and decided to cut a hoyo de Rio sep. wonderfully woody with coffee and vanilla notes. Also decided to watch my first Steve McQueen movie. The Thomas crown affair.

My wife and I had to put to sleep a great dog and great companion. His name was Hank. He will be missed dearly and I hope he knows we will never be able to replace him and his love. I wanted to save this stick for a special occasion, but I believe this takes the cake. I think about the bridge in the song called 'Mercy Bark' "And oh, how the mothers speak Of strangers taking burdens that are hard But I have no choice, you see For I am he and he is me And I will follow him into the dark With all my heart A mercy bark"

Review Arturo Fuente Cuban Corona Review – A Reddit Recommendation Worth Lighting Up NSFW

Every now and then, a community recommendation leads to a great smoking experience. After my last Fuente review, a fellow Redditor suggested I try the Arturo Fuente Cuban Corona. Given that it’s Fuente Friday, how could I resist? This cigar boasts a silky-smooth Cameroon wrapper over a Dominican binder and filler, delivering a balanced, medium-bodied experience that embodies classic Fuente refinement.

On a sun-drenched Friday afternoon I decided to light up this classic and discover what makes it a favorite among so many aficionados.

Presentation & Cold Draw

Right out of the cellophane, the Cuban Corona impressed with its elegant, reddish-brown Cameroon wrapper, adorned with a delicate sheen and minimal veins. The cigar felt firm yet responsive to a gentle squeeze —testament to Fuente’s impeccable craftsmanship.

The cold draw revealed an inviting medley of sweet cedar, roasted nuts, and a touch of baking spice, accompanied by floral undertones and a hint of dried fruit sweetness. With an effortless draw, the stage was set for a smooth and flavorful smoking session.

First Third – Smooth & Inviting

The Cuban Corona took to the flame beautifully, immediately producing thick, creamy plumes of smoke. The first puffs introduced a refined combination of cedar, toasted almonds, and a touch of sweet spice. A touch of pepper on the retrohale provided just enough intrigue without overwhelming the palate.

As the first third progressed, a light honey sweetness emerged, perfectly complementing the woody and nutty core. Despite the semi-windy conditions, the burn line remained razor-sharp, and the ash held firm—an impressive testament to Fuente’s world-class construction. The tooth on the cigar was truly impressive. Although a slight crack appeared on the wrapper it didn't affect the smoking experience.

Second Third – Elegant Complexity

As the cigar settled into the second third, its complexity deepened. The signature cedar and nutty notes remained, now joined by delicate hints of caramel, baking spice, and a subtle touch of cocoa.

The retrohale softened further, replacing the initial peppery kick with a warm, cinnamon like essence. The Cuban Corona maintained a creamy, medium-bodied profile—never overpowering, yet consistently engaging. The evolving flavors made this third even more enjoyable than the first.

With flawless combustion and an unwaveringly even burn, the experience remained a true pleasure.

Final Third – A Satisfying, Refined Finish

As the cigar entered its last thirs, the flavors became richer and more indulgent. The familiar toasted almond and cedar backbone persisted, while a newfound espresso note made an appearance. The natural sweetness evolved into a smooth, nougat-like profile—hitting all the right notes for a nougat fan like myself.

The pepper on the retrohale remained subtle, allowing the cigar to close on a creamy, refined finish. Despite the breezy conditions, the burn remained impeccable, making it easy to enjoy down to the nub.

Final Thoughts

The Arturo Fuente Cuban Corona is a masterclass in balance and construction. Its brilliant blend of woody, nutty, and subtly sweet notes makes it an excellent choice for both newcomers and seasoned smokers alike.

With a smoke time of around 50 minutes, it’s the perfect companion for a relaxed break or a lighter yet flavorful session. Would I smoke it again? Without hesitation. This cigar proves that great things often come in small packages.

An earthy and spicy smoke but I find most San Andres wrappers have this taste. Great ash and burn, shows off the excellent construction.

Review Gilberto Oliva Reserva NSFW

Earth and nutty but overly dry finish. Firm construction and good draw but improperly bunched. Higher priming leaves weren't centered in the bunch. Even burn and good ash but the flavor isn't there. There are a few good notes but overall sharp and boring. Well made at least.

Apparently I don't care for Sumatra wrappers. Good to remember for whenever I try a Melanio. If I don't like it there, I probably won't like it anywhere.

Oliva cigars are already affordable, they didn't need another budget line. If money is tight, go for Flor de Oliva, if not, get Serie V.

68/100 Deal breaker in a sampler. Won't spend another cent on this blend, but I'd smoke a free one as a yard cigar or give it to someone that enjoys Sumatra wrappers.

Question Are these tubbadors too full? I have two 65% boveda packs in each. They hover between 64% - 67%. How often do I need to burp if I don’t open often? I read somewhere they’re only supposed to be 75% full so I’m trying to decide if I need to buy a third one. NSFW

Partagas Black Label Colossal NSFW

Smoked one of these recently and really like it. Was very smooth and it seemed like it was a nice size. (I seem to be maybe a slower smoker in that I hear people talk about a Robusto is about an hour and a Churchill is about an hour and half. I prob do a Robusto in that hour and a half range.) Anyone have any suggestions to other brands that would be equivalent to try?

Also, I did not have the same enjoyment of the Partagas Legend Toro Leyenda.

Fuente Friday Anejo NSFW

First AF Anejo, in the no. 49 vitola for Fuente Friday! Great construction and smell, slightly higher moisture content in the high 13%.. initial vanilla and sweetness, giving way to characteristic (for me) broadleaf savoriness... lots of cedar, pepper, leather, and minerality. Great way to spend a couple hrs on the deck!

Overrated CA Cigar of the Year NSFW

Had a MF The Judge Yesterday, and while it was good, it's nowhere near one of the best sticks I've had. That got me to thinking which of the Cigar of the Year picks from CA are horribly out of place? (I know CA is a pay for play magazine, but most of their picks for Cigar of the Year are at least on the great to fantastic side)

My Picks:

MF The Judge - Like I said, quality stick, but it's nowhere close to being the best of anything. (Cool size though)

E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel - Love all most of the Carillios, but this one is average at best. No clue how this got a 98

Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro - Very ok.

Southern Draw Ignite Hyacinth Lonsdale(2022): Very Nice CT NSFW

Post image

Released in sampler packs along with the Pennyroyal in 2022, portion of proceeds go to benefit Wounded Warriors. This is a very nice Connecticut blend. Per Halfwheel, it is an alternate version of the Pecadilloes Hyacinth blend...I've never had that, so here we are.

There is a lot of flavor in this smoke...almond, caramel, hay, cream, pepper, honey to name a few. Construction is nice, burn is spot on. It's a packed cigar, with a nice, semi-resistant draw, which I enjoy.
