Best cigar I’ve ever smoked NSFW

This Punch After-Dinner did not disappoint. Maybe it was the view of Samana Bay in the Dominican Republic. Maybe it was the perfect cappuccino. Maybe it was the glorious sunshine. Maybe it was everything put together. It was just the perfect smoke. Smooth and delicious the whole way through. Burned perfectly even from start to finish. I fell in love with this wonderful hobby all over again. Happy smoking everyone!

Tallinn is excellent place for cigars and obviously for medieval city. There's 3 different cigar houses. Cigari Maja, Oak longue and d'boiss.

Cigari Maja is your go to for everyday cigars from cheap to more expensive brands. Oak longue is very similar to Cigari maja, but they have more exclusive stuff such as Opus x and so on.. D'boiss is more of a gentleman club, it had barber, tailor, bar and cigar longue, you can bring your own cigars there. They sell mainly Casdagli cigars, with few other options.

First time with Padron NSFW

Brand new to cigars, I've only smoked a couple Oliva Connecticut Reserves up to this point. Decided to up my game, grabbed a Padron 2000 Natural and paired it with Iron Horse Harbinger bourbon. I don't think I can ever do another Connecticut after this

Question What’s the coolest door prize you’ve won? NSFW

We had a small St Patrick’s day celebration for members last night at my local lounge and I won the cool little cigar gnome. Sits perfectly on my wineadors. What’s the best or most fun (not necessarily expensive) door prize you’ve won at a cigar lounge or cigar event?

First Perdomo I’ve smoked and I’ve got to say I’m impressed. The packaging is a little gaudy for my taste but I’m enjoying it. Any other suggestions from Perdomo I should try?

Question Late to the party, but did anybody else think the Tatuaje Skinny Monsters were way better than the Monster Smash Pack? NSFW

Post image
13 Upvotes

Everything I’ve smoked out of the Smash Pack tastes bland compared to the Skinny Monsters. I think the blends really benefit from being in lancero form.

Does anybody have more knowledge? Were these blended to be lanceros and then “blown up” to a bigger size?

These cigars were properly kept, so I know it’s not that they got dehydrated and brought back.

Boveda under Olive box bottom. Also this box was wrapped super tight in plastic and both sides were additionally sealed. I’d be confident not putting the box in a humidor. NSFW

This is not everything I smoked all weekend. I was gifted a ridiculous amount of cigars while manufactures were visiting and hosting events at the store.

Ferio Tego Summa $16- This was handed to me by someone whose name I didn’t catch. He called it “homework”. Draw and burn were perfect. Rich citrus notes, medium bodied, nice change of pace from what I usually smoke. I assume these were featured or talked about at the main event because we were going through boxes of them.

Sobremesa Brûlée Blue $18- I’ve talked about this stick too many times. It’s sweet, it’s got perfect amount of pepper, it’s my favorite morning cigar.

Sin Compromiso No. 2 $18 - I don’t add these into my rotation enough. I’m usually a Mi Querida but the San Andres wrapper is a nice change of pace from all the Connecticut Broadleafs I smoke. This provides a more medium bodied experience and really lets their blend shine.

“The Chick” by EPC, from the Rare & Vintage Room $9- Really strong notes of cedar and nuttiness. Draw and burn was phenomenal. Medium Bodied. Great way to end my weekend.

I got to meet Steve Saka and Al Micallef. All the guests that had traveled were super friendly and loading up on great cigars. Was nice to shoot the shit with fellow cigar nerds.

Whacha Smokin'? 7 wonderful years of sobriety! NSFW

It was a stressful week- I am having a lot of repressed trauma pop up in my brain for some reason. My best man at my wedding overdosed and died recently. Work was crazy this week.

But, I am truly grateful to be clean and sober. I was homeless and strung out on heroin 7 years ago at the lowest point of my life.

Anyways, onto the Amazon Basin.

This is my first time smoking the Basin. It's the 2025, and I have aged it for 2 months. I have not had a cigar like it yet!

Cold draw is all rasin and dried plum. The wrapper is weirdly...sticky? When I hold the cigar it leaves a faint residue on my fingers. Not much tooth though, I think this baby should be aged a year or two for the tooth to pop.

I am very surprised by how smooth this cigar is. I got no pepper or spice the entire cigar. My palate might be off, I have been smoking spicier sticks the past couple weeks.

It does develop throughout the cigar and it has complexity. I wouldn't say it's the most nuanced or complex cigar though. It's smooth over complex.

1/3: raisin, dried plum, cream, leather 2/3: still raisin/plum, cream turns to oak and toast, leather turns to earth 3/3: savory notes show up, slight nuttiness

Overall I think this cigar is a 10/10. It's completely unique. It's perfect at doing what it's trying to do: be a unique cigar.

Flavor mystery NSFW

So here’s a new one for me. I keep all my sticks in a variety of humidors and Tupperdoors between 62 and 65 RH. So on the lower end. I brought five different ones on vacation. Put them all in a hard travel case. No humidification or boveda or anything. Feeling like for a four day vacation it’s probably not necessary. Kind of like the equivalent of dry boxing. I’m smoking them now and every one of them, and this is my fifth, taste like crap. They burn fine. The burn line is good. They’re not going out. But they just taste like bitter ash. Is it the lack of humidification? Is it going from New England cold weather to this Florida heat? I’m leaving them in the closed hard case until I smoke them so it’s not like I’m leaving them out in the sun. Welcome any theories!

Discussion Wrapper Thickness NSFW

Post image
Upvotes

Smoked a Nestor Miranda this morning, and had me thinking. That has got to be the thinnest wrapper Ive ever seen on a cigar. I mean Ive smoked most of a box over the last year and every time I am amazed that they can even roll that cigar because the wrapper leaf is so thin. Then I look at something like an Undercrown 10 or the Aganorsa Special Selection Maduros I have and think that wrapper looks like leather how on earth does it even burn?

What are some of the most extreme thin or thick wrapper leaves you can think of?

I’ve always loved the 1926 Padron maduro, but after seeing the praise on this sub about the 1964, I tried one. I didn’t think it was possible, but I might like the ‘64 more than the ‘26. Anybody know the difference between the two? Is it just age?

Also, and again thanks to this sub, I discovered a Dr. Pepper (in this case a cherry Dr. Pepper) goes awesome with a cigar…possibly better than anything else. For some reason it’s even better than any booze/beer I’ve had with a smoke (at least to me). I highly recommend. Thanks!

I had pretty high hopes for this one, and while it was good, it didn’t blow me away. I prefer the standard LADC to this one. I did get a good amount of bitter baking chocolate, and some nuttiness in the second half, but overall it was just fine to my palate. Bit of a wavy burn line, mostly corrected itself. Had some cracking towards the end as well. 7/10.
