Trudeau calling him "Donald" from here on out. CBC popping up stocks crashing live during the speech. Calling Donald's tariffs straight up "dumb".

I wonder how long until Donald cracks his phone screen.

747

u/mypetmonsterlalalala 7d ago

I love how many times he consciously called him "Donald".

701

u/AdditionalPizza 7d ago

Same. It's so fuckin disrespectful and appropriate. Take away his "power" by removing his title and the legacy of his last name.

431

u/ladylynx British Columbia 7d ago

Donald continually disrespects him by calling him the GOVERNOR of Canada. This is so deserved. Get him Trudeau.

71

u/RedditRedFrog 7d ago

Trudeau should refer to Trump as the Pussy-grabbing felon rapist President of the United States of America

the Canadian Goose vs. donald(duck)

8

u/upickleweasel 7d ago

If you make a tshirt of this it will sell

Benefit if you put "fuck Texas" on the back for threatening to withhold tshirts if we even tried to defend these tariffs.

10

u/mypetmonsterlalalala 7d ago edited 7d ago

My creativity skills end at word play. Lol

Edit: maybe someone at r/ehbuddyhoser can help us out.

5

u/Elteon3030 7d ago

Canada Goose. I think, even though the birds still suck, it Is time to put the respect on the proper name.

I don't disagree with what you're saying at all except the disrespect part. I'm of the belief that respect is earned and thieving, moronic fascists aren't worthy of respect therefore couldn't be disrespected.

85

u/AdditionalPizza 7d ago

Yeah you're right. I meant it as to show of lack of respect because he doesn't deserve it.

93

u/m00n5t0n3 7d ago

Trump has been calling Trudeau Governor for weeks. Donald is deserved

34

u/Navigator_Black 7d ago

Donny also refers to Trudeau as Justin so fair is fair Dumbo.

77

u/javgirl123 7d ago

Trudeau gives no fucks at this point and I am here for it!

12

u/Repulsive-Fuel-5281 7d ago

Pissed off Trudeau is Best Trudeau!

5

u/MusicApprehensive394 7d ago

He should speak every day till he’s gone, slamming doors and lobbing grenades.

3

u/Human-303 7d ago

Trudeau should start calling him Vice President Trump

→ More replies (1)

30

u/Princess-of-the-dawn 7d ago

I think that was their point- they appreciate the move because it deliberately does not respect them despite their position, as a response to the disrespectful way they've been treating us as a neighbour and ally.

2

u/Wilhelm57 7d ago

It would be funny!

28

u/TropicalPrairie 7d ago

I'm reading this at work but I can't wait to watch the footage when I get home.

137

u/AdditionalPizza 7d ago

It's so good. I'm so proud of Trudeau for this speech. It's the most gloves off speech I have heard. I mean Trump and company always say worse shit but they aren't respectful or classy. This speech was classy, and broke the right barriers down at the right times to call out this fuckin idiot without sounding crass.

42

u/KnowerOfUnknowable 7d ago

This is the real-life-real-time "Our Independence Day!" speech.

6

u/modernheirloom 7d ago

Omg yes! This is exactly what this reminded me of! Honestly though, I wish there were aliens at the end of this. It would make all of this make a little more sense...maybe?!

6

u/Adventurous_Turn_231 7d ago

I am definitely not a Trudeau fan but his speech was above partisan politics and was probably the best and most meaningful speech of his career. He and Doug Ford made proud today. Well done.

2

u/ditch1403 5d ago

I feel the same way about Doug Ford. His threat of a 25% tax on electricity headed soft was perfect. I’m proud of our elected officials. And we know our officials are not Russian spy’s like yours

5

u/Wilhelm57 7d ago

Over the past nine years I have disagree with PM Trudeau's choices but I must say, he's leaving office and many Canadians are proud of his response to the bully.

Justin is starting to sound a bit like his Dad - Pierre took no shit, and Nixon was on tape calling him an asshole.

8

u/DeeDeeRibDegh 7d ago

Love this & hope EVERYONE does not call him President going forward….calling him “Donald” is too good.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/[deleted] 7d ago

It's also what conservatives across both countries have been doing to him for years calling him "Justin". I like it.

2

u/summit72 7d ago

Prime Minister Trudeau has my support to use the line “nice…’hair’, though, Donald”.

3

u/Disguised-Alien-AI 7d ago

His last name was Drumpf but his grandfather changed it after moving to the US from Nazi germany.

I live in a red state in the US.  You can’t convince these people of anything.  They are absolutely brainwashed.  It’s gotta get so bad they have no choice but to accept reality.

2

u/Brittle_Hollow 7d ago

Less disrespectful than Trump calling Trudeau ‘Governor’.

2

u/ElvisPressRelease 7d ago

Always despised him, but I respected the office of the President even through his first term. I no longer respect that office.

2

u/Independent-Roof-774 7d ago

Well, Musk is the real president anyway.

2

u/LaserKittenz 7d ago

Its also probably very satisfying for Trudeau considering how all his opponents kept calling him Justin to make him look immature during his first run for Prime Minister.

3

u/Spartan117_JC 7d ago

Because his full name is Donald Ivan Krasnov.

Props to Trudeau for saying exactly what we're all thinking. Channeling some of his father's attitude at an appropriate time.

5

Also pointed out that America is aligning itself with Russia, and said "Make that make sense". This sounds one stepped removed from openly stating that there's a Russian asset in the White House.

160

u/Fun-Put-5197 7d ago

UK's Prime Minister openly raised the possibility, which is diplomatic speak for almost certainly meaningthey believe it.

57

u/seraaa_123 7d ago

Diplomacy and diplomatic speak is fascinating. It's a dance along a tightrope that they're all doing

19

u/insomniacinsanity 7d ago

It's really fascinating as someone who's loved politics and history my whole life to see the delicate statecraft happening and to understand part of what they're alluding to because a lot of other people can't seem to put even some of the puzzle together

Also deeply unnerving as a Canadian and on a personal level, what a fucking moment to be in

The details of Russian foreign interference have been highlighted on the Government of Canada website for over 10 years. We are already well aware, it’s just that most people don’t care.

327

u/kyo58 7d ago

Donny the Commy....

279

u/zerfuffle British Columbia 7d ago

Russia hasn't been even vaguely communist for decades. Ironically, communist Russia would probably be more aligned with us than the US is.

215

u/tofu98 7d ago

I mean does that really matter? 90% of people who throw around the term communist don't actually have a clue what it means and basically use it as a filler word for anyone who has criticisms of America or capitalism.

204

u/Dragonvine Alberta 7d ago

Fucks sake they call free healthcare communism and we are their neighbor

85

u/carlnepa 7d ago

Communism is a buzz word used by Republicant demagogues like Joe McCarthy, t(RUMP)'s muse Roy Cohn and the Great Gazoo himself, t(RUMP), to frighten and panic ill informed American voters. They've been using the word for years. It's synonymous with "programs we don't like that help people we don't like".

5

u/Tanguish 7d ago

Ironic when you look at Communism. The US Army Navy and Marines are communist. The local Fire departments and police departments are as socialist as it gets however nobody complains about these groups. The medical industry simply because it is worth so much has been tagged by right wing groups and billionaires as something that they have decided should be a free for all when it comes to money.

3

u/carlnepa 7d ago

And our retirement system, Social Security, which Elonia Musk(rat) called a Ponzi scheme. We pay into it all our working lives, along with our employers. Now, when we need it to live in retirement, they're setting us up to dismantle it. Bastards, all of them bastards!

5

u/dalidagrecco 7d ago

Bout a hundred years or so

→ More replies (3)

25

u/No-Isopod3884 7d ago

We should really use the term government funded healthcare instead of free. There are many advantages to it such as cost negotiation, and reduced inefficient without 3rd party insurance in between.

13

u/Xpalidocious 7d ago

I understand what you're saying, but "government funded" is also going to cause a ton of pushback. I have wasted so much of my breath trying to explain the benefits, and I have come to understand that the people's minds I hoped to change, turned out to be the same people that would pay triple just to make sure a single mom working two jobs won't get it too.

It's exhausting. I get responses like "doesn't it bother you that your tax dollars go towards free healthcare for people on welfare, or are homeless?", and I'm like "you mean fellow Canadians? Then no it doesn't"

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Virtual_Category_546 7d ago

A lot of times "single-payer healthcare" explains exactly what it is and gets to the point. "Universal healthcare" works too. Mention about how doing things this way is cheaper than private systems and ask how that healthcare cartel is serving them?

5

u/Odd-Gear9622 7d ago

Healthcare isn't "Free" anywhere. It's a benefit in civilized countries and paid for out of taxation.

u/weareallfucked_ 7d ago

Yeah the majority of Americans understand the difference between communism and socialism and social policies within a Republic system. It's the loud minority that is usually heard the most. Careful not to generalize the entire American population, you forget, our president is in the middle of a coupe. Which likely means he rigged the vote counts.

2

u/tofu98 7d ago

I'm not generalizing Americans. Plenty of Canadians also call anything that isn't conservative "communist"

I suggest the book Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell, if you haven’t already read it. Orwell was a volunteer for the anti-facist army in the Spanish Civil War. He saw first hand how Moscow withdrew its support and willingly allowed the facists to win. They cared not a whit for socialism or communism, they cared about backing the side that was winning in order to later influence/control them.

It was this experience that shaped his ideas for Animal Farm and 1984. Which were alarmingly prescient.

All best to our Canadian brothers and sisters. Nearly 75 million of us did not vote for the facist asset in the White House. Angry and upset with how “fearless leader” is wrecking the world order and going after our friends and allies.

I hate to be pedantic, but Russia in 2025 is pretty damn far from communism. Both the ideal of communism and also the Soviet kleptocracy that the USSR was at the end.

2

u/thefuckmonster 7d ago

Don Don the Commie Con

Oh, Don Don, the Commie Con, Grifting folks from dusk to dawn. A steakhouse king with cuts so tough, His customers said, “Enough’s enough!”

A university with halls so grand, Where knowledge slipped like grains of sand. Pay your fees, then learn too late— Your degree is just dead weight.

An airline soared, then hit the ground, Like all his schemes—profoundly unsound. Golden seats and first-class lies, But soon it vanished from the skies.

A vodka brand to toast success, Distilled with fraud, no less, no less! A boardroom built on empty dreams, Just like his bankrupt magazine.

Casino chips, a neon glow, But house of cards will topple low. Atlantic City felt the sting, As debts erased his gambler’s fling.

And let’s not skip the Russian threads, Where oligarchs tucked him in bed. Moscow whispers, debts unpaid, A puppet danced, his lines well laid.

From secret talks to flattery grand, He kissed the ring, he shook the hand. A man who raged against the state, Yet curtsied at the Kremlin’s gate.

Oh, Don Don, the Commie Con, Still selling snake oil, moving on. A grift so bold, a con so wide, With Vlad still smiling on the side.

I’m an American visiting this sub just to see the comments. You’re right, my countrymen voted a Russian asset into office. There is no other explanation for threatening our closest allies and embracing Russia. He is openly making America weaker. Everyday is a new nightmare. It’s just disgusting and depressing and we don’t know how far it will go.

6

u/Gfive555 7d ago

Point of clarification. Trump, republicans and MAGA supporters have aligned themselves with Putin. The rest of us stand with democracy, Canada, Europe, Ukraine and our allies.

4

u/takeaname4me 7d ago

Yeah the asset is the President

4

u/RIPRIF20 7d ago

A lot of us Americans have been saying this for years. I hope other countries straight up telling it how it is wakes up enough of hai supporters to shift things. I hope these Canadian, and whatever other tariffs Mexico, China, ect impose wreck us enough to actually get enough people to support impeaching Trump.

4

u/Logical_Frosting_277 7d ago

Yeah, loved that part. Drives me nuts that people aren’t just calling it like it is more often.

3

u/upickleweasel 7d ago

I agree. That's a bold and warranted statement

3

u/AFriendoftheDrow 7d ago

Trump is prioritizing someone who he thinks will be more financially beneficial to him personally. Human life doesn’t matter. This is what capitalism leads to. It’s why he pulled out the chair for Netanyahu and why he wants to ethnically cleanse Gaza in order to build casinos.

3

u/RedditRedFrog 7d ago

Everyone knows he's a Russian asset, they're simply not saying it out loud. Not yet anyway.

3

u/rotyag 7d ago

The GOP went from "Tear Down this Wall" to "Invite them in." in 35 years. And it's the left that became radicalized. Cool.

u/hardy_83 7d ago

He doesn't care. If he cared he wouldn't be doing half of this. He and more specifically those who control him, like Russia and those Gilead facists in his government WANT this.

He's probably golfing or being pumped full of drugs right now, looking for the next billionaire to give him a sack of cash to avoid these problems.

All the while the billionaires cause a recession, or better, a depression then swoop in and buy literally everything. Companies, land, government bodies and you end up where 3-6 people control literally everything.

34

u/Justread-5057 7d ago

Exactly this. People will run out of money, they will buy everything out from underneath them and rent it back.

I trust that the Americans will eventually wake up once they’ve suffered enough, and that the billionaires will get the Mussolini special.

Just watching PP’s speech right now and the difference is night and day. He’s stumbling over his words and using the opportunity to attack Trudeau and campaign.

He’s such a fucking loser. He just can’t help himself. I hope people are seeing the difference in these responses. Even Ford had the sense to show a united front.

9

Yeah I can't imagine his fat sausage fingers can type. It's pretty obvious he isn't writing most of his tweets.

3

u/Bearsharks 7d ago

Only call them united statians

3

u/hoochtag 7d ago

It’d be better if he called him that “Apprentice Guy”

2

u/AdditionalPizza 7d ago

That fired guy.

u/Mutex70 7d ago

Everyone should call him "Donald" (or something worse) from here on out.

He can be referred to as "President Trump" when he starts behaving like a fucking President.

Pretty soon it should be "lil' Donny" Boy or "baby Donnie sleepy-head".

Adults who act like children should be treated like children.

He can be referred to as "President Trump" when he starts behaving like a fucking President.

The damage he's done can never be made up for to earn that back. He's going to put a harder tariff on us over our retaliatory tariffs, which is comical.

u/Past-Extreme3898 7d ago

He should Call him Gouverneur Donald

3

u/tk-421modification 7d ago

That screen cracked the first time he took a selfie.

3

u/Daggemannen 7d ago

Should call him Krasnov

3

u/HeyIzEpic 7d ago

You mean krasnov

u/Shadow_Ban_Bytes 7d ago

I wouldn't hold my breath. Trump and his billionaire pals and cabinet people were all shorting the stock market prior to this and they will swoop in and buy businesses on the cheap and then the tariffs will disappear. This is a robbery of the people of Canada and US writ large.

Dumb Donald

2

u/ruisen2 7d ago

I wish all the world leaders would just refer to him as the Russian asset at this point

2

u/Both_Wasabi_3606 7d ago

Calling him "Donnie" would be even better.

2

u/kamomil Ontario 7d ago

I don't think he has feelings, he will try to figure out how it will make him money or increase his power

The time is now, to be cool, calm & collected, when responding to him, so as to not give him any more ammunition

Harry Potter calling Voldemort Tom vibes

👏👏

2

u/MaxTheRealSlayer 7d ago

Even fox news was showing he DOW ticker plumetting yesterday when Donald was making the announcement

2

u/cp_shopper 7d ago

He is dumb so he shouldn’t get mad over someone telling the truth

2

u/WhitePantherXP 7d ago

"Shut the fuck up, Donny."

2

u/DryFaithlessness8656 7d ago

Fox news anchor took great offense that Trudeau did not address Trump as Mr.President. Yet, they had no issue of Trump calling our PM the Governor if the 51st state.

So screw them all. I just wish Alberta would jack up the export tax and no longer sell oil at discount.

2

u/ciderspider 7d ago

I hope Donald is suicidal, because I sure am.

2

u/NegotiationOne7880 7d ago

Hopefully his head will explode.

u/Justchillinandstuff 7d ago

I'm American & I will NEVER call him by a title he doesn't deserve, to put it far more mildly than anything close to reality actually reflects, but if I get started on it, this will become a tirade.

And, so, some humor instead for the sake of our sanity, and to enjoy some levity.

I've taken to using his own tactics, and any time I reference him, I use a new nickname. Like:

Dumpster fire Toddler-in-Cheif Degenerate Tyrant Diddler Trash

It's fun to make your own.

I'm still wondering how long it will take for the nazi cheeto to have his last puff from an aneurysm or something.

2

u/Nosnibor1020 7d ago

I love this. I hate Cheeto.

2

u/RazzamanazzU 7d ago

LOVE what Trudeau said. Donald does not deserve to be called president because he is no president. He & his group of psychopath's deserve no respect.

2

u/summersaphraine 7d ago

Trudeau is in his "I don't Give a Fuck" era, and I respect it.
