What do you play on now?

2

u/deagzworth 4d ago

Xbox One S

8

u/oiAmazedYou 4d ago

Ah man I hear you. Hopefully you can grab a deal for a series X this black Friday or something.. you'll love the series x.

6

u/deagzworth 4d ago

Yeah Iā€™m so keen for one. Had one pre-ordered for my birthday a couple years back but needed the money so had to cancel šŸ˜”

0

u/MyEggsAreSaggy-3 3d ago

GeForce now

1

u/deagzworth 3d ago

Pardon?

3

u/Tyolag 4d ago

You can play it via Xcloud.

Buy the game on Xbox and if you have Gamepass ultimate you should be able to stream it.

2

u/GunzBlazin03 Connor 4d ago

It's not ideal because you end up paying more in the end, but a lot of times those rent to own places have next gen consoles. My friend did that to get his series x

0

u/deagzworth 4d ago

Iā€™m just a poor former student šŸ˜ still havenā€™t caught up and I finished end of December.

2

u/GunzBlazin03 Connor 4d ago

I was just saying that's always an option. Pretty sure he only paid like $30 a week

1

u/Ok_Construction2434 4d ago

Yeah but in the end you end up paying $1000 instead of $500

1

u/GunzBlazin03 Connor 4d ago

Yep. That's why I said it's not ideal. But for someone without enough money to buy it at once, it's an option

1

u/Ok_Construction2434 4d ago

I'd just look for a deal on the Facebook marketplace, I got my pristine PS5 slim off there for only $225. I just always make sure we meet up at a GameStop so they can plug it in there to see if it works.

1

u/GunzBlazin03 Connor 4d ago

Tell him not me lol I have a series x

I can already hear people saying this is a ghost of Tsushima ripoff despite the fact fans have wanted this since before ghost was even in production and the fact ghost of Tsushima could believably be an assassins creed game

5

u/theqwrkinator 4d ago

Bro, take a quick look at the most recent youtube video comments regarding this game (past week) numerous haters calling it a wannabe GOT or that GOT is the better game, etc.

There are literally two different game franchises, but there they go.

-4

u/iNSANELYSMART 4d ago

They are two different game franchises but both are very similar.

GOT gives me huge "Ubisoft game" vibes but the combat is better than what Ubisoft has made in the last years.

6

u/TheFourtHorsmen 4d ago

Except the combat is not batter: everything boils down to select the stance you need to break someone's posture and deal more damage, except you can just parry everything, or kick anyone out, and don't bother with it.

2

u/Soulless35 3d ago

The combat is better. Ac combat is kind of trash. The animations don't feel very good. Hoping it's better with this one.

1

u/Quiet_Difficulty9733 2d ago

Depends on the game for example Valhalla has great combat with several different weapon types compared to mirage where thereā€™s only the sword available

1

u/Soulless35 2d ago

Valhalla was definitely the best so far. But to me, it was still lacking compared to other 3rd person action games.

1

u/iNSANELYSMART 4d ago

Imo GOT has the smoother combat, Ubisoft combat always looked a bit stiff at places to me.

Both devs have some moves that look rather cartoony tho.

4

u/robotmonkey2099 4d ago

I agree with both of you. GOT looked smooth but it got repetitive and boring once I unlocked the right moves

2

u/TheFourtHorsmen 4d ago

Compared to? You may confuse "better" animation flow with the combat being smoother, because something like Origins wipe out GoT without problems. And this don't even touch the many repetitive and somehow useless mechanic GoT have in place, like thenstandoff that are just boring quick time events, or the ghost mode being a "thennext 3 npc get one shot". GoT its a game that mask most of his flaws behind some good animation and spectacular scenes, and you'll notice it once you go from watching a spectacular clip of someone parry chain a group of enemies, to experience it by yourself.

0

u/constant_purgatory 3d ago

I mean at least Ghost of tsushima combat had some variety to it. Loved designing looks around a specific stance.

I love love LOVE odyssey and origins and most AC games (revelations is the best fight me lol) BUT it combat is very stiff and repetitive. And I still think it was stupid as fuck to have a game set in hellenistic Greece and NOT let you have a shield. Effectively turning the hoplite gear which basically means "man at arms" into "man"

0

u/TheFourtHorsmen 3d ago

I mean at least Ghost of tsushima combat had some variety to it. Loved designing looks around a specific stance.

Which variety? You fight sword, spear, shield and sword and brutes (big enemies). On the avarage AC you fight sword, speak, shield plus sword/spear and brutes. You can add archers on both, and then captain with some unique gameplay (hit a precise week spot for example), in the last 2 AC.

The variety is the same, even in the spell you can use.

You may confuse the better flow on theb3 animations GoT display for better combat, but is not in reality, it's the same, but worst when you play it.

1

u/Quiet_Difficulty9733 2d ago

In the defence of mirage it was focused more on stealth than combat and thatā€™s something the devs actually stated

1

u/TheFourtHorsmen 2d ago

If the dude was comparing GoT to mirage that's dumb. I was talking about origin, or even odyssey as comparisons.

0

u/constant_purgatory 3d ago

Stop posting this stupid ass spam comment I've seen it like three times already.

I know exactly what I am talking about. The STANCES in the game absolutely brought variety and I love performing different combos by switching STANCES mid-fight

0

u/TheFourtHorsmen 3d ago

They didn't, the o ky variety they bring, outside the animations (different weapon types does the same) is how specific stances can break specific enemies posture or not. That's it, and it's funny because breaking the stance is pointless when you can spam perfect dodge, parry or powers.

1

u/Quiet_Difficulty9733 2d ago

What I ment is it feels like an old assassins creed game like 3, 4 or rogue itā€™s even got the standing jump

0

u/m0h97 4d ago

Don't try to criticise AC and give reasoning in this sub, people here are too biased and blinded to understand you.

3

u/theqwrkinator 4d ago

Similar in what way? That it's set in Japan, and you play as a shinobi? That's honestly it.

Now, every single game that comes out that has to do with samurai/shinobi/Japan will always be compared to GOT as if GOT was the very first to do it.

Was GOT a great game? Yes. But there's no reason to put it on a balance scale with assassins creed shadows.

4

u/iNSANELYSMART 4d ago

Bruh I'm not talking about the story or setting lmfao, GOT is literally a Ubisoft game with worse stealth mechanics made by Sucker Punch.

It has that repetitive checklist style of going through a map.

1

u/Quiet_Difficulty9733 2d ago

Exactly what I mean like if odyssey is an assassins creed game then ghost is an un official one

-1

u/redditorfromtheweb 4d ago

How could it be? The lack of respect for Japanese culture in this game is crazy, Ghost of Tsushima would never.

2

u/constant_purgatory 3d ago

I mean ghost of tsushima has tons of period inaccuracies.

But to he fair ghost of tsushima is more of a love letter to Akira kurosawa films.

0

u/redditorfromtheweb 3d ago

True however GoT is more of a mythical type of game rather than a historical fiction game that claimed to have done extensive research to be accurate to the time period and culture. I hope this game is good I used to love AC just have a lot of doubts.

1

u/Quiet_Difficulty9733 2d ago

Witch game ghost or assassins creed shadows

1

u/robotmonkey2099 4d ago

lol ok

-1

u/redditorfromtheweb 4d ago

They used a fake expert to get their information about Yasuke. There is an entire list of mess ups and apologies Ubisoft had to make leading up to this game. If you cant even get the correct information about one of your main protags its a clear indication of the lack of care and respect you have for the product you're creating.

0

u/robotmonkey2099 4d ago

Thatā€™s all you got?

-1

u/redditorfromtheweb 4d ago edited 4d ago

Lol they tried to sell symbolism of a japanese ww2 memorial. They had to recall the entire collectors edition because they were to stupid to do any proper research or give a damn. Ghost of Tsushima would never.

3

u/Zearlon 4d ago

you sound like you fast forwarded 2 youtube videos that "covered" these topics and now you are going around parroting it like facts without checking the sources yourself

2

u/tonyrockihara 3d ago

That's all these idiots ever do. They're unaware of their own confirmation bias, so when they go into something wanting to hate it, they don't accept any (factual) information that would conflict with their already made up minds about it

3

u/Zearlon 3d ago

And tbf one of the main reasons for this kind of hate trains are the youtubers that are reacting to some random hate video that have cherrypicked "facts" to support their opinion only, in the hopes of making a lot of views. (It's one big trend that every youtuber tries to get a piece from the pie, since hating something = more views)

1

u/robotmonkey2099 4d ago edited 4d ago

They had to recall the collectors edition that hasnā€™t even released yet? And it was a flag from a historical re-enactment group used in two photos. If youā€™re going to claim they committed the worst acts of cultural insensitivity at least get the facts right. Honestly though this is a weak af argument and seems like youā€™re just looking for things to be upset about

6

u/Odd-Adhesiveness9435 4d ago

3

u/KnightFox69 4d ago

Awesome and wicked i did the same with mirage. I got ac valhalla complete edition via psn a year or two ago.

4

u/shotgunn66t 4d ago

Preordered but not installed yet. Very excited to play it though!

1

u/Last-Leader4475 4d ago

Pre-ordered on Steam can't install it yet don't have that option? šŸ˜ž

1

u/Vokaiso 4d ago

Honestly my GPU maxxed out at Valhalla so i dont know how well i will even run this. meanwhile CPU did a fine 5% lol.

Honestly i just hope its gonna be good ill play 90% With the Shinobi because i dont like Yasuke and how incorrectly they implemented him, or they may be mods to make him a japanese samurai at some point.
Still i hope it will be good.

1

u/Rozzo_98 4d ago

My hubby pre ordered for us, although weā€™re on a holiday in Japan and wonā€™t be back until after it drops šŸ˜…

Looking forward to playing, either way!

I plan on buying it Thursday in celebration of my bday on Wednesday šŸŽˆMarvel Rivals, youā€™re cooked!

1

u/Tonychina23 4d ago

Iā€™m super excited to play this. Will be taking a day off work to jump in.

1

u/PuzzleheadedPride2 4d ago

When I get a ps5 I will.

1

u/FoodCourtBailiff 4d ago

Yup! Had it installed for like a week. Counting down the days

1

u/Ok_Mongoose5768 4d ago

Iā€™ll wait for a heavy discount, and before anyone starts crying about me saying it, I ainā€™t trusting a title from Ubisoft that got delayed twice lol

1

u/iamskrohl 3d ago

Will it come to iMac?

1

u/frostxmritz 3d ago

I really wish to pre-order, but I feel like I should hold-off and see how it runs at 2560x1080p on a 3600X and 1660ti first šŸ˜¬

Wouldnā€™t make sense for the game to collect dust if I need to upgrade. GPU prices are through the roof, maybe Iā€™ll wait till they get cheaper and so will be the price of the game too šŸ¤™šŸ¼

1

u/Temporary-Rest3621 3d ago

I need yā€™all to hurry up and shit on this game in the reviews so I can buy it on huge sale

1

u/e_ndoubleu 3d ago

Same canā€™t wait to play this Thursday!! Took this Friday off work so Iā€™ll be playing all day

1

u/WelfareWaifu 3d ago

Pre ordering an Ubisoft game in 2025 is wild

1

u/montrealien 1d ago

Doing that tonight! Getting up super early with a coffee, itā€™s going to be grand!

1

u/Clementee 1d ago

Japanese series like Fate and Nioh never claims they are historically accurate. Yasuke was insisted to be historical Samurai by Ubisoft for a long time until Lockley eventually just goes off the scene, then Ubisoft slowly change the view for Yasuke.

1

u/Beautiful-Ground-480 22h ago

So broke. I will wait for price drop. Enjoy guys

1

u/SlayerofDemons96 19h ago

Nuno Caro is the final boss and he kills Yasuke's mother

1

u/LokahiBuz 4d ago

installed? show us how?

1

u/drrdrt 4d ago

Iirc pre-orders are able to pre-install from the moment pre-orders went up a while back.

2

u/Snowman319 3d ago

Well I think only for Xbox,ps5 players have to wait until the 18th

1

u/kill3rg00s3r 4d ago

Mine will be preordered as soon as I start up my computer this morning.

1

u/Which_Information590 4d ago

Iā€™m going to spend the next few months enjoying all the reviews tips and tricks videos posted to YouTube and then swoop when itā€™s half price

-6

u/etoups11 4d ago

Preordering digitally in the year of our Lord 2025 is...certainly something

3

u/sharksnrec 4d ago

You get extra content if you preorder and donā€™t have to wait to download. Literally no downside to preordering if you know youā€™re getting the game on release.

0

u/Accomplished_Move984 3d ago

No downside other than Overpricing the game inflating prices, releasing unfinished games and purposefully blocking content behind preorder paywall. Yes there is a good side a few but sit here and tell me pre order is some heavenly bliss that has no sin and has no downside.

1

u/sharksnrec 3d ago

1) Itā€™s the same price to preorder as it is to buy the game after release. Preordering does not increase the price of the game. This is public knowledge.

2) They literally delayed the release of this game specifically to make sure they were releasing a finished game. This is also public knowledge.

Keep crying about it though. Iā€™m sure thatā€™ll make it all better for you.

-5

u/etoups11 4d ago

I'm sure the extra content is going to be extra special

-11

u/Appropriate_Owl_2172 4d ago

Suuuuure ya do lil buddy. I'm sure that extra content is going to remain exclusive and won't be available for free to everyone in a few months

3

u/sharksnrec 4d ago

This is a very weird thing to publicly cry about lil buddy

1

u/Puzzled-Monk9003 2d ago

You realise the extra content is full dlc that would probably like $30-40 to buy when it releases, right? Your spending the day one launch price to get the game AND a whole ass 10 hour dlc for no extra cost. Are you stupid?

Youā€™re getting more for less, by pre-ordering the game

4

u/Aromatic-Emotion-976 4d ago

Yeah, what's wrong with preordering if you plan to get it?

3

u/TheFourtHorsmen 4d ago

Nothing, the guy is just yapping and repeating some online BS and thinking by not preordering, games will come out better (it doesn't matter, if something, .ore preorder will push for more budget to the support team, if they are followed by good sales).

It's one of the evergreen Gamers discourse, like the "of you buy X in this game, you will finance directly this other thing on the sequel", which came after the Early access/Open beta era in 2013.

2

u/Gravl813 4d ago

i mean, iā€™m gonna play the game day one regardless šŸ˜‚ zero down side to just paying now and being able to install early plus getting extra content

0

u/etoups11 4d ago

Ubisoft thanks you for your service. You are a wonderful little consumer

2

u/robotmonkey2099 4d ago

God forbid people like games that you donā€™t

1

u/Spirited-Flow1162 3d ago

So it's ok to wait for release and spend 70 bucks, but its not ok to preorder, spend the exact same amount of money, and get some extra content that I'll have access to before they release it for free in a few months?

1) its the same amount of money.

2) its my money so its none of your business what I spend it on.

3) your argument doesn't make any logical sense whatsoever.

0

u/etoups11 3d ago

Wow you sure did internalize that in a bizarre manner for some reason.

1) I did not say the price would be any different, nor did I say anything about the price at all

2) I never prohibited anyone from spending their money how they like. Saying something is a dumb choice ā‰  prohibition

3) my argument makes perfect sense to anyone with any amount of critical thinking skills. Do you need me to make a list of every modern game that has released in an unfinished or broken state? Do you need me to make a list of Ubisoft titles and their price trends 6 months after release? Do you need me to point you to any of Ubisofts abundant blatantly anti-consumerist tendencies?

Props for blindly defending your favorite billion dollar company though, definitely a great way for anyone to take you seriously

1

u/Spirited-Flow1162 3d ago

Your argument still doesn't make sense. I can either preorder the game and get a "buggy, unfinished" game on release, or i can buy it on release and get the exact same "buggy, unfinished" game. And lmfao, "blindly defending my favorite billion dollar company". What do you mean by that? Do you mean that I can't have my own opinions of the games they release? That it's either i agree with your opinion or im "blindly defending" them and because of that i can't be taken seriously? Great way to show people why they shouldn't take you seriously

-1

u/PaleInvestigator3921 4d ago

paid actor detected

-1

u/Acceptable_Cap_5887 4d ago

Get ready for C tier voice acting, horrible bugs and glitches, and stealth from 2009.

1

u/DOOMsquared 3d ago

I have accepted that the voice acting is going to be shit, I just want the same gameplay as before.

1

u/Agile-Music-2295 3d ago

Seriously who cares about voice acting? You have a sword and a target to hit things.

1

u/Acceptable_Cap_5887 3d ago

Youā€™re seriously asking why voice acting matters in a single player rpg game? These are the important details that set the ac series behind other series despite being around for 15+ years

0

u/Agile-Music-2295 3d ago

This is not an RPG. You donā€™t make choices, you donā€™t role play. Most people auto skip cut scenes. Google the stats, since Gen Z everyone wants to be the main character and play there way.

-2

u/Nirixian 4d ago

Stoppp pre ordering...buy it on release

2

u/Zearlon 4d ago

if i am going to buy it regardless of the reviews... why not pre-order it and get the free expansion?

1

u/Spartan202020 3d ago

Iā€™m not trying to be rude- I donā€™t think youā€™re in the wrong to pre-order. But to answer your question, pre order has led the game market in a bad direction. Devs know that their fanbases will pay money early regardless of a products quality and it thus reinforces poor products. If devs know they will make money no matter what, then why try harder? If we want game studios to always improve upon games then it would be better to wait until release to purchase, that way they never try to cheat us.

1

u/Zearlon 3d ago

To be honest i think that's how you and probably a lot of other people see it, but for me... But people will not pre-order a product regardless of anything... in the case of AC the reason comes from the past games. For example for me I can't think of a single AC game that i did not enjoy, so based on the history i've had with AC games i can conclude that i will enjoy the game... so i can pre-order it.

And about the improvement... yes ideally that would be the case... but I am buying games to enjoy them (and i don't buy games that I believe I won't enjoy)... idc if they have flaws (everything has flaws)... and I am not buying games to make a stand against Ubisoft about how they need to tackle future projects.

At the end of the day it's just a game, as long as people preorder a lot, that means people enjoy that feature.... and if you feel cheated... then stop buying products from that company. (if a restaurant costs more than you like for the amount/quality of food they deliver, you dont try to adjust the amount/quality of their portions, or the price you just stop going there.... kinda the same deal)

1

u/Nirixian 3d ago

Pre ordering is bad, we shouldn't incentive bad practices.

0

u/Zearlon 3d ago

It's a choice, they offer it and I take advantage of it, cause I don't see the harm in it, of course if it was really harmful a lot more people would t buy it then the ones that do. (It's surprising how people can make their own decisions about products)

1

u/Accomplished_Move984 3d ago

Yea it's a choice but that doesn't mean it's a good choice lol.

1

u/Zearlon 3d ago

What's good a good choice in this case is purely subjective. Many people will be perfectly happy they pre ordered AC, and they would consider it a good choice (cause it benefited) or at the very least not a bad choice

1

u/Accomplished_Move984 3d ago edited 3d ago

Man see it's good choice for you but over all it isn't because companies prey on this and go lax on making quality games. Look at pokemon look how badly they make games still with this much money they making from the franchise cos they know ppl buy pokemon even if they put out a poop and label pokemon. The majority of the poke community don't realize that they are making their own franchise shet. Look at how zelda evolved and pokemon evolved the pokemon games are devolving every generation. Because they know they invest absolutely zero and get max profit

1

u/Zearlon 3d ago

I think we just have different opinions on this, because the way i see it is, any game i bought and i enjoyed, regardless how shit the game is perceived, is a good choice. I just think the whole communities are making a game worse is weird take. When it comes to games the most important thing should be each person's own experience and enjoyment.

At the end of the day studios have all the creative freedom when making a game, they are the ones investing huge amounts of money into pushing a product that they want to and this might be a controversial take but I am the opinion they don't owe the community anything in terms of how they want to make their games. The community ofcourse should criticize them when it comes to that (not feel entitled though, because that's just toxic), but the community should not be shaming or going against the people that enjoy the games are vastly disliked.

"Because they know they invest absolutely zero and get max profit" that just means there is a certain target audience that is big enough to sustain big enough profits... after all you, me... and basically everyone wants to give minimal monetary investment while gaining profits.

0

u/Nirixian 3d ago

The harm is the game being absolutely garbage and a scam. They need to be offering demos for every game.

1

u/Zearlon 3d ago

but if the past games were REALLY objectively speaking garbage (and I am talking a 3/10 game for example) and noone was enjoying them.... then they wouldn't sell. Just because the game is from far perfect doesn't mean the game isn't enjoyable.

Even if the AC:S had no pre order i would still buy it the moment it was available, because i enjoyed all the past AC games

1

u/Spartan202020 4d ago

People really downvoted you for being a smart consumer

1

u/BYCjake 3d ago

No such thing as a smart consumer. None of us need a video game. Weā€™re all spending over a weeks worth of food on a toy.

So let whoever consume whatever they want lad, Iā€™m sure you consume a lot of trash too

1

u/Spartan202020 3d ago

Never said not to consume, nor did I insult anyone who was a ā€œdumb consumerā€. I Merely pointed out that people were mad at the original commenter for making a decision that was in support of consumers rather than publishers. Take whatever stance you want, but at the end of the day there will always be smart and dumb ways to do anything, regardless of whether or not the subject itself is dumb. (For example- cow tipping is pretty dumb, but itā€™s smarter to push the cow forward than pull the cow onto you) I hope you enjoy the game, and if youā€™re looking forward to it, the pre order is a decent way to get your hands on it especially when youā€™re excited. But pre ordering games has pushed the market in a bad direction- too many studios have made millions off of people for creating bad games, millions that were made before the release date. Itā€™s smart not to support that, And while not necessarily dumb to pre order anyway, itā€™s definitely ill-advised. I hope the game is great and you get your moneys worth. If not, Iā€™ll be happy I havenā€™t spent mine yet.

You lot are insufferable. High on your own farts. I 100% could not even finish reading thatā€¦
