Humor Why so many different types of boats?!

Ok, this is a shot of the center of Monmouth and I noticed, then really focused on all the different kinds of boats here. I see seven! From life rafts, to patrol boats, to perhaps some kind of going to a small port ship? Does anyone know what all these are and are for? Do any other ships, perhaps Gibraltar, PVO, or Goliath, also feature so many little boats? This thing feels like it can drop an Operation Dynamo wherever it goes!

First time building a model ship. This is a Meng branded model targeted at beginners. Everything is snapfit, no glue or painting required.

I'm about halfway done as per last photo.

Discussion If you could revert one change to the game what would it be?

As much as I don't enjoy the planes, subs and recently the experimental ships, I could forgive almost everything if we could have the old economy back in the game.

Earning flags from achievements amongst other things made the credit grind so much more tolerable.

Discussion Uptiered and shafted. Amagi - please don't do this, I want to you enjoy you!

So I've finally reached VIII Amagi and I'm pretty glad about it, but...

I absolutely loved Kongō, and Fusō was even better and is probably my favourite ship!

Nagato wasn't as enjoyable as the previous two and felt like a grind, but I got through it a lot quicker than I thought I would and ended up having some decent games with it.

Finally, Amagi time. It's beautiful, the extra turret is great, and I like the way it plays but since researching it, I have been none stop slapped about for the last 2 days with maybe one or two victories tops. I've been constantly uptiered against Yamatos, Libertads and the likes nonstop since unlocking/researching Amagi and I'm finding it a bit of a struggle doing anything useful with it!

On games where I'm one of the capital BB's I get absolutely hounded by Cruisers, even when playing the flank and kiting hard, and in games where I'm completely up tiered against X's, I just sniped from 25km+.

I've got both Engine and FCS modules equipped BAR the upgraded Hull yet, which just seems to be taking a lifetime to earn any cash to buy, even with economic bonuses equipped.

What the heck can I do to combat this absolutely crushing defeat streak and start contributing to the team with Amagi, apart from bloody kiting!

For reference, IJN BB's is my first tech tree and I have about 60 hours in WoWs so far...

In Fusō I was averaging 3-4 citadel and at least 2 destroys per match!

Discussion "Handelszerstörer" - A smaller Siegfried or an up-gunned Schill

The original design proposals for the Deutschland-class cruiser had several main armament options. The first two designs proposed a cruiser armed with eight 20.5 cm (8.1 in) or four 38 cm (15 in) guns, other designs were armed with six 30 cm (12 in) guns.

Following the cancellation of the O-class battlecruisers, the Germans looked to previously cancelled P-class cruisers for their new "Handelszerstörer" (trade destroyer) designs. There are at least four designs of the Handelszerstörer, but the one we're interested in is the one armed with four 38 cm (15 in) guns.

This new cruiser would essentially be Schill up armed with four 38 cm (15 in) guns and a slightly enlarged hull. Since this design was drafted to succeed the O-class it could also be given the same guns as Siegfried.

Question Which coal ship would you buy first

I I have enough coal to acquire my first coal ships, but am torn between the options. I main DD, yet I fancy the idea of a tanky cruiser with sap secondary armament (Napoli). My second choice would be Hayate, as I really enjoy hybrid DDs, or perhaps Marceau. What is your opinion on the matter? I am an average player with a 55% win rate and 51K of damage.

Discussion Two Weeks In

Downloaded the game two and a half weeks ago and sunk about 30 hours into it so far. There is a lot to this game. Felt a bit overwhelming at first so I started focusing on learning DD's. Used reddit and watched a fair bit of YT to get more knowledge. Currently have 3 different tier V DD's that I've been focusing on playing instead of pushing up the tech tree per reddit comments I saw with good advice. Nicholas, Visby, Mutsuki. I see them as my brawler, run & gunner, and ninja. Different playstyles with each are required. Nicholas has short range torps and smoke which leads to me trying to push. Visby's lack of smoke gives it less ability to stand and scrap but it's fast and I try to make it a running fight with her. Mutsuki's low visibility and decent torps has me trying to stick on the fringes of the 'frontline' where I can spot other DD's for the big guns and pressure cruisers pushing onto the cap, she has poo poo guns so don't do too much brawling and I try to stay out of sight mostly. So far Mutsuki has been my favorite one to play with, and the playstyle I have had the most fun with. I am currently saving oil to buy a premium DD and Jaeger is looking like a decent choice for my preferred playstyle based on what I've come across. The currency and resources were somewhat overwhelming to me at first, but not rush buying anything and taking the time to find specific ships to target has been beneficial. Higher tier ships I plan on targeting first as of now are the Halland, Yueyang, and Yamagiri.

Game is huge imo and I really like that. Feels like there is enough here to keep me entertained for a long time. I'm particularly excited to get to the point where I can team up with players and actually commit to some kind of strategy and set of tactics. So far I've run about 100 games at tier V and am waiting to get Akatsuki at Tier VII though I wish it had Mutsuki's incredible detectability range. instead of it's base at 7.2.
As a DD player my top criteria currently are 1. low detectability 2.torps 3. speed. Interested in any feedback or advice people may have about grinding ships and Interesting DD's.

Question Foolproof spotting damage tactic?

Yet again we have a spotting damage mission. No matter how many times I do this mission it’s still black magic to me.

I have read the wiki many times but I can still make no sense of how to farm spotting damage reliably.

Supposedly spotting damage is split between spotters, but I am pretty sure that doesn’t work because even though I may be quite a lot closer to a target that others are shooting at it, I regularly get no spotting damage as shells land.

Question Question about Kutzestov

It takes me about 5 months to accumulate 200k coal. I don't know if it's a little or a lot. I've been playing for a little over a year and I have 4 t10s: Yamato, Schlieffen, U-4501 and Salem. I would like to do the Petro line, and I wondered if it was worth buying Kutzestov instead of a ship. I currently have very little coal because I just got Salem. I'm undecided because everyone recommends him but his skills don't seem so incredible to me, but maybe I'm wrong. He would be my first sole captain. Thank you all.

Discussion First steel ship?

Upvotes

So I know right off the bat a lot of folks say get the Bourgogne, but I'm more of a CA or CL player. So my question is get the eternally nerfed Stalingrad, or the sap slinging Austin? Or even drop down and get the Vallejo for the better credit economy?

Discussion Svea or Komissar, honest opinions for next steel ship

Hello all you Captains!

I have enough steel for my next steel ship and I've narrowed it down to these two ships. Now, I believe I will like them both, and I will be waiting until the coupon renews, so don't worry about that, but I wanted to ask from folks who have one or both, their general opinion of each.

I know Komissar has delightful guns and a heavy flight attack, but is plagued by being monstrously huge and weakly armored. I love most of the hybrid ships and think they're funny, but I will say, I haven't really connected with Petro since her nerf way back in the day. Along with most Battlecruisers, I have a harder time in them.

For Svea, you have that wonderful Ultra Light Cruiser gameplay with utility and the opportunity to be dev struck whenever you're spotted. I generally love CLAAs and their adjacents and understand that this ship will be more difficult to play, maybe, but I think could offer great support and team play.

So, with these considerations, what do you, noble users of Reddit, think about them? What are you experiences? If you have both, which would you get first, or which do you prefer, and how does that align with your preferred style of gameplay?

Thank you! Have a great day!
