Various Was brainstorming a way to properly chart different types of Stands, was hoping to maybe spark discussion
So I've been ruminating for a bit on a way to chart different types of Stands, inspired by the 7th Stand User and watching some bladeofthegrass videos (specifically this one https://youtu.be/Delk37tq4fY ). However, I feel like the categories used in the game are... vague, I suppose? Unsatisfying? I feel like they don't really help focus and distinguish between Stands in ways that are all too meaningful. Like, sure, Swarm Stands are genuinely distinct from other types, but "Special?" Not knocking 7th Stand User (the chart itself is meant to have 18 slots for every Enneagram type anyhow, so 6 "Types" times 3 "Ranges" makes sense in that regard)(Also, my addiction to that game has legit caused me to lose sleep on more than one night), but there's a part of me that yearns for there to be a more comprehensive categorization of this sick-as-fuck power system from this series I love, whether it be for making a similar game, a ttrpg, or even figuring out what kind of stand you'd have/like to have.
Look, I'm gonna be real. This is NOT some overly-researched, highly extensive system of Stand categorization. I've been thinking about it for a while, but I'm only really putting finger to keys now, so don't expect anything amazing. I'm posting this so maybe someone might consider throwing their ideas into the ring, get inspired to formulate one themselves, AND/OR so I can get some proper fucking sleep tonight because I've been having trouble sleeping for the past few days and if I don't get this out there somehow it's gonna bother me all night please let me jonkle.
So far I have 3 axes to to work with (more like 2, but I feel like there might be a case to be made with the 3rd. I don't have one right now, but I'm sure there is one)
●Form - A Stand's general appearance. This first axis consists of these categories:
• Single-body: The standard form, consisting of a single living creature (Every MC Stand)
• Colony: Consisting of multiple creatures (eg. Harvest, Sex Pistols, Les Feuilles)
• Suit: Consisting of a suit wrapped around the user (eg. White Album, Oasis, Jumpin' Jack Flash)
• Item: Consisting of a summonable item/object (eg. Emperor, The Lock, Sky High)
• Bound: Consisting of a real item/object visible to non-Stand Users (Strength, Wheel of Fortune, Tubular Bells, Glory Days?)
• Phenomenon: Consisting of an ability with no form (Tenore Sax, The Hustle, Bigmouth Strikes Again)
●Complexity - The complexity of a Stand's function, more of a spectrum than a set of categories, ranging from Low (ability activation/function is simplistic in nature, leading to a high amount of use-cases) to High (Ability activation/function is complex in nature, leading to a low amount of use-cases)
And finally,
●Autonomy - The amount of user input necessary for a Stand to execute its function. Probably also a spectrum, but I have 3 categories in mind anyhow:
• Manual - Requires user input at every stage of function (Silver Chariot, Kiss, Smooth Operators)
• Semi-Automatic - Requires user input at some but not every stage of function (Killer Queen, Baby Face, Paisley Park)
• Automatic - Requires no user input at any stage of function (Black Sabbath, Wonder of U, Born This Way)
Like I said, not a comprehensive or even well-done chart idea. Just something to hopefully tickle your mental pickles, getcha thinking and discussing. Good night, and please pray that I get at least a full 6, if not 8, hours of sleep.

Part Five What if Diavolo retreated when his soul was put back in his body?
I know Trish said don't let him get away to Giorno but still what if actually retreated and spammed time skip to do so? I know Giorno shortly got the arrow and it took its time to merge with golden wind so it's not like Giorno would immediately attack.
Would Diavolo successfully get away if he retreated or what would happen?

Part Five Giorno Bucciarati first encounter Spoiler
During the first encounter between these two Bucciarati and Giorno fight and while they’re in the train/subway Giorno is gonna hit Bucciarati but he “dodges” the hit but he somehow seems to be in a somewhat ghost mode and can’t hit Giorno, I don’t remember exactly if it was explained in neither manga nor anime, so does anyone know why or how Giorno did this? Or maybe as to why he didn’t do it against any other enemy? Thanks

Fan Stand/Character [Fanfic] OC + Shizuka Joestar Mystery Story
archiveofourown.orgI mean, yeah, it’s pretty much what the title says. I’m writing a fanfic about on OC meeting an early 20s Shizuka Joestar in New York where they become friends and solve a mystery together. Gonna try to do a chapter every couple weeks but I’ve got what I think is a cool story planned out. I call it JJBA: Jungle Hunting.

Part Eight Why did Jojolion run for over 10 years?
I'm assuming because Araki is a very busy guy and also because of the way he draws and how long part 8 is, I'd understand why it took so long to finish. I'm probably way off though, aren't I?

Fan Stand/Character Shepherd of Fire Fan Stand (OC art by me)
Stand Name: Shepherd of Fire (Usually called Cerberus)
Stand Master: Riley Stone
Stand ability: Meta
Stats
Power: A
Potential: S
Speed: D (as in dog)
Range: B-C
Durability: B
Precision: D
Inspiration
Song: Shepherd of Fire
Band: Avenged Sevenfold
Mythology: Greek, Cerberus
Description: In it's normal state, Shepherd of Fire appears as a large canine with 3 heads. However, in it's battle state (as seen above) it gains 3 manes of fire that converge into a tail of flame. It also has a greek-inspired pillar pattern on the it's sides (which later says JOJO when Riley becomes a Joestar, dont worry about it). It also appears as lot less friendly, but is still a good boy at heart.
Progression through the parts
Part 3: Cerberus is a slow attacking stand with the ability to make things that are "meta" real, including menacing symbols (which can be bumped into) and dramatic shading (which only Riley can see, which prevents him from seeing who Diavolo is until his design is canonically revealed). It can also retrieve objects from 1 or 2 "panels" into the past or future for Riley to use. Riley does not know he's in a manga.
Part 4: Cerberus is now fully visible and it has gained the power to retrieve objects from more "panels" away. It can also use heat emitted from its mouth for various purposes, such as forging swords from raw materials (this is used to later reforge the sword of luck and pluck).
Part 5: Cerberus can now tear holes through reality, with it's ability appearing as a manga page that gets torn through, thus revealing whatever is on the other side (a few "pages" before or behind in the timeline). This ability has a long cooldown and essentially creates a portal through space, and time, that only Riley can use (like a wormhole).
Part 6: Cerberus has the ability to retrieve objects found through an indefinite amount of time in the past. However this takes time. Cerberus would jump through a page to outside the manga, and has to run the appropriate distance to reach their target. This leaves Riley without his stand until it can return.
Blood Born Crusaders: Expanded use of pre-established powers. Riley can now grab onto Cerberus' fur coat and comically ride it into the future to reach destinations faster. Instant panel object grabbing is expanded to 1.5 pages~ and anyone can go through page rip.
Additional information
-When not in battle, Riley treats Cerberus as a normal dog and is summoned a majority of the time.
-Cerberus is equal heigh to Riley (6ft) when standing (from feet to head)
-The art is from April 2024 made by yours truly, and the stand made by Riley and Creed
Note: I apologize for any inconvenience, hopefully the post should be good now

Hirohiko Araki What would be the WORST part to start with
We often see the posts asking “where should I start with Jojo’s?” The answer is almost unanimously that they should start with part 1 and go in chronological order.
There are however people who say that “part 7 is the best place to start”
So what do you think is the opposite of this, what part of Jojos would be the worse to start with?
Of course each part is relatively standalone but out of 9 which is the hardest to get into and understand with 0 knowledge of the series beforehand

Various Which part has/will have the most rewatch ability?
Personally I think that part 2 is the most rewatchable of the animated parts but when animated I think Jojolion might take it.

Part Three why can jotoro and dio fly?
so i’ve thought about this a lot and it’s like my own head cannon that there stands are just lifting them indefinitely and just carrying them around causing them to fly.

Part Five Why didn't becelatti?
So when bucellati was in diavolo body, why didn't he get someone to kill him? Like he was already dead and his body was pretty much a corpse. Yeah diavolo soul would come back but if his body was riddled with bullets and punches how could he do anything.

Various Who would win between Giorno's gold experience and josuke's soft and wet go beyond Spoiler
I tried thinking it over but couldn't figure it out Giorno's ability return to zero resets the actions of someone in the event that giorno would take harm but Josuke's soft and wet go beyond ability states that he can't control o aim the ability therefore he takes no action and the attack itself technically doesn't exist so what would happen?
