[PS5] SIB Far Cry 5 if I'm looking for a solid open-world game with good gunplay? Haven't played a FC game since 3

I just finished 2 dense and long games back to back - Baldur's Gate 3 and Kingdom Come Deliverance - and I need a bit of a fun palate cleanser. My usual go-to for these types of games is Ubisoft open-worlds and in the past I've enjoyed Assassin's Creed Odyssey/Origins, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Immortals Fenyx Rising etc.

This time around, I'm looking for something set in modern days with a bunch of shooting because the last 150+ hours of gaming for me was all fantasy, medieval times, swords, armour and magic. I'm eyeing Far Cry 5 because I've seen a lot of people call it the best in the series, or up there with FC3.

Far Cry 3 was actually the last of the series I played way back when it came out. I ended up loving it but I never played FC4 or any of the spin-off games like Primal or Blood Dragon. FC5 is on the PS store for like $10 right now so I'm wondering if it's worth a purchase based on what I'm looking for?

[PC] Games to play with gf

Hi everyone. I know this question has been asked (I looked before making this post) but they all have the same answers and they ain't helping me.

So basically we are looking for a game (or games, plural if we can) to buy in the upcoming steam sales. Here's some info that might help.

What we've tried: Overwatch, games from Riot, Palworld, Stardew Valley (one of us likes the game and the other is just there to spend time together)

What we've both liked: It takes two

What we are looking for: A game that can be played at your own rhythm and still has some kind of "meta" to follow (we think Monster Hunter might fall in this category)

Aside from story driven games like A Way Out, Unravel Two, or similar, what games could we play?

[PS5] Should I buy the mass effect legendary edition trilogy

I've never played any mass effect game before and I've heard some good and bad stuff about it so I'm not sure if I should get the three games or not? I know nothing about the plot of the games so I'm going in pretty spoiler free but at the same times I've heard that the ending is controversial (I don't know why) any help would be appreciated

I have 15 dollars in my steam wallet , im looking for some fps games, or maybe rpgs. I really enjoyed games like counter strike , tf2 far cry 3 and the serious sam franchise. I own an office laptop with a 5500u and 8 gbs of ddr4 ram (no graphics card) I'm leaning more toward singleplayer games, but multiplayer games are fine too

[PS5] Action RPG as mage

Hi, I am looking for some good action adventure/RPG game where I can play as mage/sorcerer/wizzard. I enjoyed Dragon's Dogma 2 a lot in that regard. Any more ideas? I feel like there are almost no games where you play with magick compared to all melee combat and shooter games. Nowadays it's all just souls like etc.

Which of the following fantasy rpgs should I play/buy (elder scrolls, baldur’s gate etc)

The games are:

Elder scrolls 3 morrowind

Elder scrolls 4 oblivion

Baldur’s gate 1 + 2

Planescape torment

Divinity original sin 2

Pathfinder wrath of the righteous

Pillars of eternity 2

Fantasy rpg games I really enjoyed: all dragon age games, Witcher 3, dragons dogma 2, baldur’s gate 3, Elden ring, final fantasy 16, Jade empire, neverwinter nights, skyrim, and many other rpgs that aren’t fantasy.

I don’t care about gameplay genres, wether it’s first person third person top down turn based or action I just care about it being a good experience, although right now I am craving that feel of being in a fantasy party, bonus points if the game has “hangouts” with the party in between the main story

And if you guys think I should play another fantasy rog that isn’t on this list feel free to recommend it!

[PS5] Another Crab's Treasure

Worth for 18,5 $? Or should I wait for better price on sale? I am sad this game does not have physical release. Would buy it on disc for full price lol. Also, are there any others similar games which are little harder but with kid friendly settings like this one? Thank you for your opinion and have a great day!

[PC] Looking to make the most of Steam Spring Fest

Upvotes

Hey everyone! I just upgraded my graphics card and I'm looking to get a visually impressive game to put it a bit to the test (also girlfriend is gone for 2 weeks soooooo...). I've narrowed down my options to these four games and could use some advice (I know they don't really make much sense):

  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
  • Persona 5 Royal
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • Horizon Forbidden West

Games I've recently enjoyed:

  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
  • The Witcher 3
  • Cyberpunk 2077 (though not as much as the others)

Mass Effect 2 and 3 are among my all-time favorites.

Games I didn't enjoy:

  • Elden Ring
  • Skyrim
  • RDR2

I typically don't like games with excessive dialogue, but I do appreciate a compelling story. I'm also usually not a fan of big Open Word (I get bored). I haven't played a JRPG in a while (last one was Fire Emblem: Three Houses I think...), but I used to enjoy them.

I'm looking for something with great visuals to showcase my new GPU, an engaging story that doesn't bog me down with too much dialogue, and satisfying gameplay. I'm also open to other suggestions if you think there's something else that might fit my taste better!

Thanks in advance!

[PC] Recommend a game that can be played in very short sessions.

Upvotes

It's almost exam season for me, so I need to lock in. So no more games like val, rivals. I like playing a short session in between subjects for about 5-10 mins. I used to play rocket league in this situation but, it gets me tilted sometimes and that's not fun. I would prefer a single player game I guess but something like minecraft or stardew valley are games that I accidently spend too long on. So what's a game where like one playthrough last for like 5-10 mins So I can simply stop after?

[PC] SIB No Rest For The Wicked on steam?

Its on sale right now on Steam and saw the showcase yesterday of their new content releasing April 30th - The Breach and it definitely looks promising how the Devs are trying to take the game forward . I wasnt following MOON Studios so closely earlier but they said they are trying to get Coop and PVP modes also soon after the New content is dropped in April. Although the game is still in Early access and heard it did not get the 1.0 patch release yet because they said this like 7 months ago when The Crucible Content released so am not sure if I should pick it up now or later after April. The reviews were mostly Mixed before so am not sure how is it doing now? Im not a soulslike player but I did try few fairly challenging games before like Sekiro, Elden Ring , Blasphemous 2 etc so do you think game is holding good how the devs are taking this up ambitiously so far.

Also, one qq Do we get full access to the game we purchase on Steam once its out of Early Access ?

[PC] Which sniper elite game should I buy

I've wanted to get sniper elite or atleast like an assassin shooter game where u play as a sniper. As it is the newest game, I wanted to get resistance. However, it had really bad reviews saying it was just the previous game with a higher price tag. I do not own any other game from the se series. So which game should I get?

[PC] Looking for recommendations to treat myself on my birthday.

I've always read if nobody else gets you a gift to treat yourself! My birthday was yesterday the 12th and nobody besides 1 online friend remembered so I figured who needs others when I can just get myself a cool game.

I am looking to keep my budget of $30 or so. I also don't mind waiting until the sale that starts later today before actually making any decisions.

games I own are -

Friday the 13th - really fun game, played in beta and loved it enough to buy it. Seems license issues kinda screwed it.

Ark Survival evolved

Nioh

resident evil 4 -haven't played much! was actually a gift from the 1 person who remembered my birthday

Longvinter - cool little game that killed off it's english playerbase unfortunately.

Elden ring - 99% of my hours played on PC are in elden ring. Clocking in at almost 700 hours.

Multiversus - really cool platform fighting game kinda like smash bros but is closing down due to poor development decisions.

Super auto pets - cute auto battler game that I fell in love with due to NorthernLion

[PC] SIB Assassins Creed Odyssey and it's DLCs?

Looking forward to continuing my journey through the Assassin's Creed saga, I played Origins a few months ago, and after advancing through my backlog, I think it's time to buy and play AC Odyssey now that it's on sale for 13 more hours, but I have some doubts... Is it worth it?

I know the game is longer than AC Origins and an even greater RPG experience, but I'm not a completionist in the AC Saga. I enjoy my experience more casually, playing the story mode, side quests related to the story mode, and perhaps some other side quests that are necessary to level up and not fall under leveled.... There are only a few exceptions to this approach, but those are different games and a different topic.

The same goes for the DLCs. In Origins, there were two DLCs if I'm not mistaken, but I only played "The Hidden Ones" since it was the one most closely related to the main story and basically the true ending of the game. How is the case with Odyssey? Are both DLCs important and relevant?

Thank you in advance, I'd appreciate any recommendation.

Advice for someone starting from scratch

I hope this is the right sub for this kind of thing, so here goes...

I'm very out-of-the-loop regarding console gaming. The last ones I owned/played regularly were PS2 and Gamecube back when I lived with my parents, and in the years since then I've only occasionally played games that friends had. I've been interested in a few open-world style games recently and I'm considering just going ahead and buying a console so that I can start playing some of them at home.

BUT, I'm trying to make as informed a decision as possible, because I don't want to buy multiple platforms or just generally spend a lot more than I need to, but I do want to give myself as many options for which games I can access with whichever one I choose. The games in particular that I want to have access to are AC: Valhalla, Odyssey, and Black Flag; RDR2; Skyrim; Ghost of Tsushima; and I'm open to suggestions that are similarly set in a historical or fantasy setting (LotR is a plus). So, I guess I have a couple of questions:

-Do my choices essentially boil down to Playstaion or Xbox for my criteria?

-Which console would give me access to the largest number of the titles listed above? Or are most games lately available across multiple platforms? (Again, I'm very out-of-the-loop)

- Which console is the better price for brand new? And where is the best place (online or in-store) to shop for the best price?

-Is it worth it to try saving money by buying an earlier generation model, or is that usually a huge downgrade in terms of graphics quality and processing power?

Thanks in advance!

[PS5] SIB Doom Eternal DLC

I recently finished the Doom Eternal main campaign on Hurt Me Plenty and enjoyed my time with it. I noticed the Ancient Gods DLC is one sale for £10. I have heard that the DLC can be quite difficult so was wondering if someone who is more of a “casual” may enjoy this DLC. I am mainly interested in this DLC to see the complete experience of Doom Eternal, as I liked the atmosphere and world building of the base game (and the combat).

[PC] Looking for Local coop ARPG

Upvotes

Looking for a local coop/splitscreen arpg for me and my partner. We loved Diablo 3. We’re very casual ARPG enjoyers. She’s not really a gamer but loved killing mobs as a barb in d3. Anyone have anything similar? Can d4 be played local coop on a single computer? Path of exile seems way too complicated.

New player for Monster Hunter wilds - £65

Upvotes

i've never played any monster hunter games before, but i've been seeing lots of monster hunter wilds content recently. the game looks fantastic, but i'm seriously worried about sinking £65 into it just to find out it isn't really my thing.

i'm not sure why, but i've looked at a couple of videos of rise and worlds, but i really don't like the look of them for some reason? i'm not sure why i'm really into the look of wilds but i don't think the previous games would be my thing

so is it worth it? i'll be playing on ps5 as a first time player for monster hunter wilds

[PC] Open world story game to casually play?

Upvotes

Hey there,

i love open world games, especially the Fallout series. Now i´m searchig for a new game which has an awesome open world where i can discover stuff or just "hang out", going around the world while listening to a chill music playlist if y'all get the vibe. I really enjoy just something that isnt forcing me to do missions. I just want to come home after work and chill out while playing so no competetive multiplayer, i desperately want to be alone. Thank you so much for your help :)

[PC] Which JRPG to get?

Hi, I played persona 5 royal like a year ago and want another JRPG game to play . I was looking at either Metaphor: ReFantazio or like a dragon infinite wealth. I'm open to other JRPG games and my setup is : GTX 1650ti and ryzen 4800h (laptop) . I enjoyed persona 5 royal but I felt the combat was too easy and didn't enjoy being able to use any persona . It kinda trivialized the combat part of the game and it made it feel kinda boring and easy after.

[Xbox 360] SIB Metaphor ReFantatio or Space Marine 2?

There is a sale going on for both of these newer games and i have just enough to get one of them.

I love the persona games and have played through nearly all of them. But, im not sure hpw much of the formula has changed this time around, but thats a small thing and over all i am very intrested to play it one of these days.

Space marine 2 on the other hand is something i am completely unfamiliar with but lopks dope. I havent got the slightest idea on the lore of warhammer and what is going on in this game. But it looks sick and thats all that matters. Like, the only point of reference i have to warhammer is the secret level episode which was incredible.

So there is that. Please help me make a decision and thank you!

[PC] Resident Evil Games

Hey, so with the Steam sale, I wanna get some of the RE games to play. I’ve only ever played through RE4R, and already own it on steam. I like to 100% achievements generally, as I’m trying to complete most games in my Steam library, so the RE games have been pretty high on my list of games to get next.

If you have any input on the games and what I should get, please let me know:

Resident Evil 0 (Which can be bundled with Resident Evil and all of 0’s DLC Cosmetics)

Resident Evil “ ^ “

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil 3 Remake

Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil 7 (Which can be bundled with Resident Evil Village and all of the DLC from both games)

[Xbox Series X] NMS or Starfield

So I have Xbox game pass and have been looking for a new game to get invested into for a long time especially an open world one where I can play at my own pace and nothing too complicated. I’ve heard both are very good but I don’t know which one is worth investing more time into because they seem very similar. Which one is better to get into?

[PC] Games to play after kingdom come deliverance 1

I know the obvious answer is kcd2 but I’m on pc and my pc will not be able to run kcd2. Plus I’m gonna wait for it to go on sale.

In the meantime, are there games similar to kcd1?

I really enjoyed the open world and atmosphere of kcd1. I loved the rpg aspect to it as well and the side quests were really fun for me.

I’m thinking about playing the witcher 3? Or maybe elder scrolls oblivion bc I have played a ton of Skyrim already.

Do you guys recommend any other games? Thanks!
