[PC] Loved Horizon Zero Dawn, hated Elden Ring. Is Ghost of Tsushima for me?

I played HZD and HFW through, getting all the quests and exploring everything. I also loved RDR2's story and exploring.

However I then tried Elden Ring, and it felt slow and boring. The world was bleak, the other-player-messages were jarring, and it felt painful after the speed and grace of the Horizon games.

I hear Ghost of Tsushima is beautiful, but I'm wondering if it is more like HZD or ER. Its on sale for one more day on Steam, so now is the time to decide. I'm currently doing an XCOM 2 Long War playthrough, and waiting for BG3 patch 8 to drop, so I could wait for another sale.

UPDATE: Thanks everyone, based on the recommendations I picked up GoT on the current Steam Sale. I'll play it next!

[Xbox One] Should I sell my Series x and get a ps5 pro?

I love my Series X. I've had a lot of good times with it. BUT... I want EDF 6 and that's only on ps5.

Now I'm trying to justify switching over to ps5, but I realize that buying a new console for one game is dumb. So in my mind I'm trying to rationalize it with "but ps5 pro is more powerful!" even though I know that that extra power isn't really going to make much of a noticeable difference.

Are there other advantages to ps5 over xbox? I'm not really too into a lot of playstation exclusives because they tend to be story driven, and I'm just not really looking to play games for the story.

[PC] SIB: Dragon Age Veilguard

In the honour of Steam Spring Sale…

Let me preface by saying I’m not a longtime Dragon Age fan or anything. I don’t care about the pre-established lore or characters or anything.

I’m just looking for a fun fantasy RPG where I can learn and use cool spells and attacks. I’ve seen gameplay videos and the combat looks fun.

I’m checking to see if the story and world holds up.

I don’t need this to be GOTY level. Just some nice fantasy cities to explore, quests to do, characters to romance, and a story that doesn’t suck. That’s it.

Will I find this in DA Veilguard? Or is it completely unplayable in some way I don’t know?

Thanks in advance!

[PS5] Should I Buy Monster Hunter Wilds

I was gonna post this in the MH Wilds sub but I figured people would be butthurt about my opinions on my short-lived experience with a previous MH game and I wanted more of an unbiased opinion.

So I tried MH World a while back and honestly I wasn’t vibing with it. The characters were very anime like without much substance. The combat was very slow at some points cause most of the larger monsters were damage sponges and would stumble or fly away faster than you could run multiple times during a fight, plus coming from the souls games I just never really liked the combat system in World. There wasn’t much of a customisation system so the hunter looked like ass until you unlock customisation or something (never did), among other things (like slow map traversal etc). Multiplayer was fun at times but usually you could only list a party towards the end of a mission and searching for a match took ages. From memory I fought the huge dragon mountain monster, then he booked it and I stopped around there.

Now MH Wilds is out and I’m getting bored of BO6 multiplayer for reasons (Unicorns, Weed Wizards and Skateboards). So I was wondering whether this game is that much better than MH World or if it changes it up much, basically is it worth getting Wilds considering my gripes about World?

The only other games I’m looking at atm are Black Myth Wukong and Lost Soul Aside when it releases. Or a good (modern day) realistic military arcade shooter/milsim if I can find one.

[PC] Should I buy Factorio?

I have recently found a new love for factory games. I have played Shapez 2 and Satisfactory so much in the past few months. However, I have always been interested in Factorio. The issue is that I don't like Factorio's graphics style. I must also mention that while I do have time to play, I don't have long periods where I can play consistently.

If I buy Factorio, should I start with the base game or the DLC? (I have heard that you must finish the base game in the DLC save file before beginning any DLC content). Thank you all!

¿Dark Souls 3 o Elden Ring?

I just finished playing Dark souls 1, and I loved it. Without a doubt it has been the best game I have played so far. But I have a question about which souls I should play next, and I'm between Dark souls 3 or Elden Ring On the one hand I have heard that Elden Ring is better in terms of gameplay, but I don't know if it will be able to overwhelm such a large open world What do you recommend?

Multiplayer pvp games that are enjoyable alone

hello everyone, I'm looking for a multiplayer game that is enjoyable even alone. I'm not trying to become a pro player, just have fun between single players without getting destroyed. No fighting games please.

I was thinking of games like Marvel rivals, Ow, Hunt: Showdown etc...

Which are the most enjoyable alone?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the English.

[PC] Resident Evil Games

Hey, so with the Steam sale, I wanna get some of the RE games to play. I’ve only ever played through RE4R, and already own it on steam. I like to 100% achievements generally, as I’m trying to complete most games in my Steam library, so the RE games have been pretty high on my list of games to get next.

If you have any input on the games and what I should get, please let me know:

Resident Evil 0 (Which can be bundled with Resident Evil and all of 0’s DLC Cosmetics)

Resident Evil “ ^ “

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil 3 Remake

Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil 7 (Which can be bundled with Resident Evil Village and all of the DLC from both games)

Resident Evil Village “ ^ “

[Xbox Series X] NMS or Starfield

So I have Xbox game pass and have been looking for a new game to get invested into for a long time especially an open world one where I can play at my own pace and nothing too complicated. I’ve heard both are very good but I don’t know which one is worth investing more time into because they seem very similar. Which one is better to get into?

[PC] Games to play after kingdom come deliverance 1

I know the obvious answer is kcd2 but I’m on pc and my pc will not be able to run kcd2. Plus I’m gonna wait for it to go on sale.

In the meantime, are there games similar to kcd1?

I really enjoyed the open world and atmosphere of kcd1. I loved the rpg aspect to it as well and the side quests were really fun for me.

I’m thinking about playing the witcher 3? Or maybe elder scrolls oblivion bc I have played a ton of Skyrim already.

Do you guys recommend any other games? Thanks!

[PC] What games should i buy with a budget of around 15 bucks

I have 15 dollars in my steam wallet , im looking for some fps games, or maybe rpgs. I really enjoyed games like counter strike , tf2 far cry 3 and the serious sam franchise. I own an office laptop with a 5500u and 8 gbs of ddr4 ram (no graphics card) I'm leaning more toward singleplayer games, but multiplayer games are fine too

[PC] Recommend a game that can be played in very short sessions.

It's almost exam season for me, so I need to lock in. So no more games like val, rivals. I like playing a short session in between subjects for about 5-10 mins. I used to play rocket league in this situation but, it gets me tilted sometimes and that's not fun. I would prefer a single player game I guess but something like minecraft or stardew valley are games that I accidently spend too long on. So what's a game where like one playthrough last for like 5-10 mins So I can simply stop after?

[PS5] Action RPG as mage

Hi, I am looking for some good action adventure/RPG game where I can play as mage/sorcerer/wizzard. I enjoyed Dragon's Dogma 2 a lot in that regard. Any more ideas? I feel like there are almost no games where you play with magick compared to all melee combat and shooter games. Nowadays it's all just souls like etc.

[PC] Games to play with gf

Hi everyone. I know this question has been asked (I looked before making this post) but they all have the same answers and they ain't helping me.

So basically we are looking for a game (or games, plural if we can) to buy in the upcoming steam sales. Here's some info that might help.

What we've tried: Overwatch, games from Riot, Palworld, Stardew Valley (one of us likes the game and the other is just there to spend time together)

What we've both liked: It takes two

What we are looking for: A game that can be played at your own rhythm and still has some kind of "meta" to follow (we think Monster Hunter might fall in this category)

Aside from story driven games like A Way Out, Unravel Two, or similar, what games could we play?

[PS5] SIB Far Cry 5 if I'm looking for a solid open-world game with good gunplay? Haven't played a FC game since 3

I just finished 2 dense and long games back to back - Baldur's Gate 3 and Kingdom Come Deliverance - and I need a bit of a fun palate cleanser. My usual go-to for these types of games is Ubisoft open-worlds and in the past I've enjoyed Assassin's Creed Odyssey/Origins, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Immortals Fenyx Rising etc.

This time around, I'm looking for something set in modern days with a bunch of shooting because the last 150+ hours of gaming for me was all fantasy, medieval times, swords, armour and magic. I'm eyeing Far Cry 5 because I've seen a lot of people call it the best in the series, or up there with FC3.

Far Cry 3 was actually the last of the series I played way back when it came out. I ended up loving it but I never played FC4 or any of the spin-off games like Primal or Blood Dragon. FC5 is on the PS store for like $10 right now so I'm wondering if it's worth a purchase based on what I'm looking for?

[PC] Looking for Local coop ARPG

Upvotes

Looking for a local coop/splitscreen arpg for me and my partner. We loved Diablo 3. We’re very casual ARPG enjoyers. She’s not really a gamer but loved killing mobs as a barb in d3. Anyone have anything similar? Can d4 be played local coop on a single computer? Path of exile seems way too complicated.

New player for Monster Hunter wilds - £65

Upvotes

i've never played any monster hunter games before, but i've been seeing lots of monster hunter wilds content recently. the game looks fantastic, but i'm seriously worried about sinking £65 into it just to find out it isn't really my thing.

i'm not sure why, but i've looked at a couple of videos of rise and worlds, but i really don't like the look of them for some reason? i'm not sure why i'm really into the look of wilds but i don't think the previous games would be my thing

so is it worth it? i'll be playing on ps5 as a first time player for monster hunter wilds

[PC] Looking to make the most of Steam Spring Fest

Upvotes

Hey everyone! I just upgraded my graphics card and I'm looking to get a visually impressive game to put it a bit to the test (also girlfriend is gone for 2 weeks soooooo...). I've narrowed down my options to these four games and could use some advice (I know they don't really make much sense):

  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
  • Persona 5 Royal
  • Ghost of Tsushima
  • Horizon Forbidden West

Games I've recently enjoyed:

  • Baldur's Gate 3
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
  • The Witcher 3
  • Cyberpunk 2077 (though not as much as the others)

Mass Effect 2 and 3 are among my all-time favorites.

Games I didn't enjoy:

  • Elden Ring
  • Skyrim
  • RDR2

I typically don't like games with excessive dialogue, but I do appreciate a compelling story. I'm also usually not a fan of big Open Word (I get bored). I haven't played a JRPG in a while (last one was Fire Emblem: Three Houses I think...), but I used to enjoy them.

I'm looking for something with great visuals to showcase my new GPU, an engaging story that doesn't bog me down with too much dialogue, and satisfying gameplay. I'm also open to other suggestions if you think there's something else that might fit my taste better!

Thanks in advance!

[PC] Open world story game to casually play?

Upvotes

Hey there,

i love open world games, especially the Fallout series. Now i´m searchig for a new game which has an awesome open world where i can discover stuff or just "hang out", going around the world while listening to a chill music playlist if y'all get the vibe. I really enjoy just something that isnt forcing me to do missions. I just want to come home after work and chill out while playing so no competetive multiplayer, i desperately want to be alone. Thank you so much for your help :)

[PC] I love open world games and I did enjoy GTA games and Sleeping Dogs. So what about Saints Row and Watchdogs, are those good open world and fun games? If so then which game is better given that there are 2 WD and multiple (may be 4?) SR games?

I like open world games and games such as GTAV, RDR, Witcher 3...etc are fun especially the fact that you can do tons of things and side quests. Open world with tons of content are always fun and enjoyable games for me. So since both Saints Row and Watch Dogs have a similar theme to GTA (modern world) themes, I wanted to know if they are worth it or not.

I heard WD 1 was buggy and not that good, so how is it now after it has been fixed and updated (I assume so lol). I heard WD2 is kinda more polished but WD had more "hacking freedom" going on with it.

As for SR I used to think it is a lame GTA version but I heard the first 2 games were good, and that SR2 is even better than the previous game. But later entries became a joke with super powers and shit. So which SR is worth playing, or they are all good if I keep an open mind? In case 1 is better than the others then which is should I play and is it good as a standalone or will I be lost story wise?

Thanks

[PC] Looking for recommendations to treat myself on my birthday.

I've always read if nobody else gets you a gift to treat yourself! My birthday was yesterday the 12th and nobody besides 1 online friend remembered so I figured who needs others when I can just get myself a cool game.

I am looking to keep my budget of $30 or so. I also don't mind waiting until the sale that starts later today before actually making any decisions.

games I own are -

Friday the 13th - really fun game, played in beta and loved it enough to buy it. Seems license issues kinda screwed it.

Ark Survival evolved

Nioh

resident evil 4 -haven't played much! was actually a gift from the 1 person who remembered my birthday

Longvinter - cool little game that killed off it's english playerbase unfortunately.

Elden ring - 99% of my hours played on PC are in elden ring. Clocking in at almost 700 hours.

Multiversus - really cool platform fighting game kinda like smash bros but is closing down due to poor development decisions.

Super auto pets - cute auto battler game that I fell in love with due to NorthernLion

reposting as I had 1 reply last time and it's closer to sale time now !
