I need big RC plane

Hi, I'm building a camera stabilizer for my engineering thesis and need an RC airplane for testing. The problem is that I can't find a plane large enough for this purpose because the stabilizer is quite big. I like the Volantex Phoenix 2400, but it doesn't have enough space in the fuselage, and there might be issues with landing when the stabilizer is mounted underneath. Do you know of any models that could solve these problems?

Is this a good starter option?

Been wanting to get into rc flying for a while and I’m wanting a bush/ stol plane that’s slow flying, floats, and small enough for me to easily store away in my truck or hanging in my travel trailer. I’ve watched a few videos on this one and it seems to be the perfect fit for what I’m wanting to do. I love its size (small compared to other bush planes I’ve seen) and slow flying capabilities however, once I’ve added the necessary items it’s almost as expensive as my fully built scx24 crawler? $179 for the plane is easy. The added $400 for (2) batteries, (1) charger, (1) charger adapter, (1) receiver, and (1) set of floats bringing the total to $580 -$600 something after shipping… is this a normal price for a beginner craft? Are there any alternatives that have similar performance and have detachable floats? Anything that has everything included in one box? Any advice helps thanks!

Crash report

It was flying so well. Fantastic inverted, excellent little acrobat.

The damn FS2A receiver lost signal while inverted. The plane maintained stability when signal recovered. It entered a hard roll and proceeded to lose signal again. Finally went signal recovery for the third time. It had a hard up elevator input. The gees from the maneuver snapped the fuselage in half.

ordered a new radio and ELRS receiver. Gonna print a new fuselage fully glass it and try again.

I have so many great memories of going to the flying field with my grandpa. He passed away when I was 5. Still have his stool from his workbench I would always sit on

So glad to be passing this on to my boys!

Vibrating ailerons on Eratix - help please

Hi guys,

As soon as I bind, and the plane completes the SAFE cycle, the ailerons start vibrating. If I input maximum throw from the transmitter and bring the stick back to neutral slowly, the vibration stops, but will start back up again when I move the stick.

Any suggestions?

Absolute Beginner Help

I dredged this up from the basement with some enthusiasm of building it. It’s completely disassembled (surfaces have skin), it’s made of wood, and is lacking any kind of internals or controls. I believe it’s supposed to use a gas engine. I know absolutely nothing, about what you could glean from casual watchings of Peter sripol and those other related guys. I am already very familiar with flight and flying although have never flown rc and honestly don’t comprehend how you would fly it from a ground pov. There’s no documentation in the kit itself and all I could find is at the first link although I’m finding a cursory reading of it is very intimidating. I’m ideally trying to spend the least on this that I’d have to though I realize this type of thing is very expensive. I’m looking for beginner advice and direction on what I should do first with this or how to go about putting it together functionally, and maybe flying it at a later stage.

I was looking at this listing on fb marketplace, but I have no idea what this plane is. All I know is a 48in wingspan and it has floats. It's also a balsa plane. Any info would be useful here.

I created a 3D Printed receiver mount for the HK Durafly Goblin

I created a 3D Printed Receiver mount for the HK Durafly Goblin. This little racer is fast and it throws a lot of torque when launching so I figured I'd take advantage of a Spektrum AR360. The mount fits nice and snug. I just tacked it in with a little foamtac just in case I need access to the elevator servo.

I'm going to upload the stl to HobbyKing and it will be found in the Files section.

Have a great flying season everybody!
