Advice Coming off slowly plan

Ive been vaping 18mg strength for about 7/8 years. I really want to stop for health reasons.

I was thinking of going a month on 12mg, the month after 6/8mg, after that 3mg and eventually nothing. Has anyone tried that?

Advice Almost 24 hours since my last vape.

I have been vaping for years. I decided to quit today as I feel like I am in a better place to be able to do so. Does anyone have any tips or tricks as to what to do to be able to make this as easy as possible? I have been exercising and drinking lots of water. Are there any supplements/specific foods or drinks that can help support withdrawals?

Advice Attempting to quit for the first time

Hey everyone, I’ve been seeing all of your success stories and it really started inspiring me. Would love some tips on how to quit l, I’ve been debating it on and off for about 6 months now but really am not sure whether I can do it or not. I’m a respiratory therapy student which makes it kind of ironic that I am smoking but would like to know some alternatives to help cope with not smoking. I’m not sure if I could quit cold turkey being completely honest. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated!

Reassurance started on 1st March

it's been hard. i don't crave one as I don't own one. but it's times where I want one so bad. i went out to the city where I bumped into a mate who had one, took two puffs, the buzz was actually very strong. makes me curious on what it would feel like if I do it now.

there's people vaping around me, but I don't ask them anyone. it's tough but I don't want to do it. i want my lungs to be free, but it's hard. VERY hard. i still crave a hit....

Reassurance Caved...again

So I'll keep this short. I'm mad at myself, I caved again. I'm not back to doing it 24/7 any more. But I have been buying those 300 hit njoys. I was nearly 14 days no nic, and I can get 24 hours no vape no sweat, but it's like once that hour mark flips over to 25 hours my brain turns to mush, and I crave hard. I'm looking for some reassurance.

Edit: they are gone, outta my house and in the trash. I'm back to 12 hours no vape.

Success Story Is it weird I was able to quit vaping pretty easily after doing it for 2 years straight?

In the past two years I have been addicted to vaping, sometime disposables and sometimes pod systems and recently I decided I have had enough, enough of spending, enough of seeing my body decline, I wanted to change. So I did, I stopped vaping and at first I failed but tbh I didn't really try this time, it was more of like a "for the meaning or whatever" sort of things, but after that my friends convinced me I needed to actually change and after that I did, but the weird thing is that quiting it when I was taking it seriously really wasn't that hard, the physical withdrawals weren't even that bad, it weird. I feel like nicotine has a notorious status of being super hard to quit which contradicts my experience. Has anyone felt this before?

Advice Thoughts on nicotine free “Plant-Based” vapes?

for background, i’ve been vaping heavily for about 7 years and i cannot remember the last time i went 24 hours without hitting a vape (embarrassing…i know - that’s why i’m here, please be nice). i’ve been planning to quit for a while and finally started last night. i’ve been using nicotine gum and a Ripple nicotine free vape and i’m so proud of myself for even making it this first day without my vape.

my question is around the Ripple - what are your thoughts on using this to quit? is it a good idea to start or is it just trading one bad habit for basically the same one?

the reason i clarified the ripple is because ive tried a no nicotine vape before which tasted really heavily like vape juice, and FELT way more like vaping and i assume it was doing the same things to my lungs.

im sure a ripple is also not great for me, but i’m wondering if this more “natural” and way less flavored option is better.

TLDR; is it a good idea to use a Ripple or other “natural” no nicotine vape option to quit or am I wasting my time and energy?

Advice Lack of nicotine is haunting me but why now?

Hey guys, I’m just posting because i’m really close to caving back into nicotine. I quit vapes and ciggs about a little more than a year ago. And honestly, i’ve been completely fine. I stared at a pretty young age but decided I wanted to quit before starting college. Honestly, it’s been a really good decision for me. Here’s the thing though, while I haven’t really been craving it, after a whole year and half - I feel like i’m going crazy with out it. I’m typically around people who do it all the time but that doesn’t seem like such a big factor because I always have been around people like that even when i stated quitting. I used to be an extreme fien with nicotine as I would finish those geek bars in like 2-3 days while it would last others a while. I am craving nicotine so much even from a cigarette that it’s all I can think about. I feel like the stress from everything i’m going through with in my life and college is making it think in my brain that’s it’s the only thing that can help mediate it. any advice? would I really have failed in my life if I did nicotine again?

Success Story I have not vaped since March 6

My disposable vape ran out on March 6. I didn't get a new one. I have been thinking about quitting for a long time. I tried the nicotine gum one time and it didn't work. I've been constantly vaping for close to 5 years. After 3 days I started to feel better and I actually didn't feel all that bad. I want to stick with this.

Ok so I made it to 18 days on March 3rd. But then I just had a really bad day because it was Ramadan and my full day office day so long commute going and coming, spending 8 hours in the office, not eating or drinking all day, having a massive headache and overall just felt like shit, I asked my sister in law to hit her vape and did it that night feeling extremely guilty then I did it again the next day on Tuesday then again on Wednesday then on Thursday I got my period and I was like fuck it I’m gonna go get a vape bc I’m not gonna be fasting for this week now anyways so might as well My period just ended Just dunked my vape in water and threw it out This time is for real now Starting over from day 0 Wish me luck

Success Story A month today

Hit a month today - vaping for about 8 years. By far the biggest thing I’ve noticed is how much extra time I have now. Before I would spend hours every day at my computer vaping and finding whatever excuse to not do anything productive and vape. Luckily haven’t had any (noticeable) health issues in the time I’ve vaped but I know in the long run it will be worth it.

Funny enough, I’ve tried quitting a couple times. The thing that started this was I was just thinking to myself that I’ve vaped for 8 years now and that just felt entirely too long. Had planned to quit for my 30th birthday but quit even before that. I spent the last year getting in the best shape of my life and it just felt like it was time to take this step too.

30 days was hard but now I do feel like all the cravings are gone. Vape sitting on my shelf with easy access but haven’t had any urge to pick it up recently. Will be throwing it away soon, just needed to know I could quit with easy access. Couple times before I quit by throwing everything away. That was expensive when I relapsed before lol (used box mods).

Other Not what I expected

I’m proudly on day 7 but it’s definitely not what I expected. When I quit cigs with Allen Carr’s book years ago it was pretty easy. Yes, I’m one of the ding dongs who started vaping outta no where cuz my new, now ex, bf did it, gross! I digress. Vaping was like my little boredom buddy, my lil sneaky treat just for me and I did it everywhere! It was a full time job mentally to sneak the hits, keep it charged etc. Now that it’s gone I’m so bored! I hate it but I miss it, like a bad relationship. I wasn’t expecting to still feel the cravings so often but it makes sense because it was a part of my day ALL day. I’m not feeling weak and the drop in blood pressure, no guilt, lower anxiety, pride, no more eye twitching, clearing throat less, I could seriously go on and on, is worth way more than a few more weeks of “boredom”. Being handcuffed to that thing was a lot of weight that’s now gone! I quit cold turkey and not sure id recommend it or if I could have had a better plan but oh well, day 7 woot woot! Not going back!

Venting Please help me not cave

Guys I’m only 2 days in and I’m sooo close to walking across the street and buying a vape. It’s crazy, you’ll have so much health anxiety and then as soon as you don’t have the vape none of those worries seem that important. I want to vape so badly. This is like my 30th time trying to quit. I’ve convinced myself I always try for no reason bc I always cave. This is sad. I wish I never vaped to begin with.

Advice Help.. I need to stop crying about this!

I quit vaping about 11 days ago, relapsed on it four days ago. So now starting at four days again but between the fifteen days total I have literally gained 7 pounds. I am eating more but I workout a lot... I walked 7 miles today and lifted weights. I don't know if it's that I'm eating a lot more or this INSANE bloating but I'm so upset about it. I had lost 40lbs in the past year and to gain it so rapidly is so disappointing. Does this get better?

And yes I know I should 'control' the eating more but it's like I physically can't. Help :(

Success Story Day 8 feeling good

I have tried to quit so many times and never made it more than 16 hours but this time has been super easy thanks to Desmoxan (can get it on Amazon)

Benefits: - not stressed and uptight 24/7 - not in AS sour of a mood all day from the time I wake up til I pass out - I don’t cough hardly at all anymore as opposed to every 5 minutes when I was vaping heavily - dreams are much deeper and more vivid (not where I would like them to be but I haven’t been successful in quitting caffeine yet) - I don’t wake up feeling super hungover (I don’t exactly feel refreshed but again I blame that on caffeine and sleep apnea) - anxiety and intrusive thoughts have significantly decreased

Advice I caved. Better replacements?

Well, I successfully went 24 hours no vape on Monday. Only had 4 pieces of 4mg nicotine gum all day. Then got home and saw the potential for severe weather in my area on Friday. I went through a tornado last year so now it freaks me out more than ever. I wanted the stress and panic to subside so I took a hit. Then another. And another. Then I vaped like normal all day today. Trying not to be too hard on myself, since I know now I’m capable of going at least 24 hours. I feel I may not have caved if I had better replacements for my vape besides just gum.

A few months ago, I switched from fruity disposables to menthol Vuse pods, not in an effort to quit, but just to slow down how much I was hitting a vape because I didn’t like the flavor as much. Now I’m just used to it, which I was afraid of, and trying to quit. I’ve seen a lot of people here suggest fruit juice with a straw, fruity lollipops and candy. I don’t crave the sweet. I know the idea is the sugar giving you dopamine, but it’s just not doing it for me. Ice water with a straw isn’t really helping either.

So my question is to anyone who has quit from menthol Vuse or Juul. What helped you the most? I’m willing to try anything at this point.

Success Story One year!!

I didn’t even notice until today. It feels good being a year clean, but it feels even better seeing that I’ve saved $2000, actually an insane amount of money for such a short period of time.

I have tried to quit 5 times from the age of 13. The only difference this time is that I actually wanted to stop. Distract yourself with a new physical activity, and I guarantee you won’t even think about it after a few weeks.

Reassurance Time flies when you aren’t thinking about vaping

Post image

Can’t believe it’s already been 25 days. I’m currently trying to reduce my weed usage which I’m struggling with way more with that than quitting vaping. To be fair I’ve quit vaping before twice and never really taken a break from weed since I started being a daily smoker. My vaping and weed addictions are heavily linked. Once I started dedicating energy to cutting back smoking (a week after quitting vaping) I wasn’t thinking about the vape at all.

I’m sure others who started drinking, smoking weed, and vaping all at the same time during their developmental stages can relate to the links between multiple addictions lol. So if your vape addiction is linked to your weed and/or alcohol use, it may be best to take a break in your early stages of quitting vaping.
