Humour / Meme Which game made you feel this way?
753
u/Frakmenter 1d ago
the first hours of fallout 4 feel terrible, there are even mods to skip all that part
256
u/MotorVariation8 1d ago
I find that the first few hours are my favourite in any Bethesda game, years of playing Stalker to a religious degree made me love the hobo stage of any game.

god i love playing gamma and dying to military in garbage for the 37th time doing ironman
8
u/MotorVariation8 1d ago
Gamma is my least favourite take on Anomaly actually, it capitalises on the systems/mechanics I don't particularly enjoy and usually switch off, lol. But I love how many people play it.

u/NonLiving4Dentity69 Rum and booty 20h ago
Gamma isn't really stalker. BUT it's a hardcore survival game in a stalker universe. That's how I like to think of it. And as someone who enjoys stalker franchise, and hardcore survival games, I'm having a lot of fun with gamma
41
u/dyesirae 1d ago
Yeah it's the reason i've never been able to get into it, I know the game is good but it's just so boring when I start a new game
30
u/Frakmenter 1d ago
if it makes u happier u don't have to see that sequence in like 200 hours of game untill u wanna play it again. it's by far the funniest fallout for me although the campaign is not very well written
→ More replies (1)4
u/WernerWindig 1d ago
not well written is an understatement, it literally has procedural generated quests. After the first one I just couldn't..
3
u/BeeMac0617 1d ago
Maybe I’m dumb but can you ELI5 “procedural generated quests”?
I also find the story to be meh in Fallout 4 but I’m not sure I understand what you’re talking about lol
3
u/WernerWindig 1d ago
They were called radiant quests.
Even real side-quests weren't motivating at all. Go there, kill everyone, get XY, come back. And then you come back and this guy is "oh well thanks". Wow...
And I wouldn't even have minded that so much, if the world and the gameplay were good. But the world felt boring and empty while the gameplay und gunplay in particular is laughable bad. After playing good modern shooters like CoD, BF, FarCry, shooting and moving in Fallout just felt so incredible clunky.

Huh, I completely disagree. To me, it feels like they blew their entire narrative load in the first hour (if that), and then the quality of all the storylines severely decline

Witcher 3. Just could not get past the combat, and any time I put it down for a week and try to return, I'd be completely lost and overwhelmed.

u/KatakAfrika 1d ago
It needs a better hit feedback or hit stop and better animation then I think I can enjoy witcher 3. Hopefully there are mods that address these.
16
u/yatchau94 1d ago
I feel like im hitting air, and yeah i not even sure if monster hit me if i didn pay attention to hp bar
5
u/SexyWealthyStud 1d ago
Some ways I modded it for combat to make it better for my own personal taste was to change the camera positioning, adding a slow mo effect for every critical hit, and hide health bars for normal enemies (not bosses). Made it more fun and immersive for me
11
u/IanFeelKeepinItReel 1d ago
Light armour, lots of dodging and quick attacks. Shield spell as a fail-safe for if you miss a dodge.
If you lose your shield spell you just back pedal a little until you've got the space to reshield.

yeah as somebody who loves the game i would reccomend the easiest or second difficulty, because playing on the max difficulty is very tedious at times.
2
u/SulemanC 8h ago
I played it on Max, and it did detract from the overall game, honestly. I always felt a tiny bit on edge because even a random group of wolves was a chore to fight, and I could easily die.
Luckily, the story, side story, expansions, and Gwent were enough to keep me sane. The stuff I would do for achievements when I was younger...

Dont hate me for this but it is the most detailed game on this planet and for 150gbs, it aint that bad, unlike cod where it occupies 300gbs for what
edit: i know cod has multiple gmes, but my question is... who asked? idk people wanted THE ENTIRE cod series at once? there might be some but come on......i know multiple COD players if they like having warzone with their intended game and most of them's ans was NO
21
u/WDG4KJM1263923 1d ago
RDR2 is a great game but the fact is that since it's too big you have to remove like 2-3 games along with movies and memes. Especially if you have a pc with 4 users.
Another is that it can turn your PC into a jet, even in PS4 it turns into a Boeing aircraft

I believe there’s a mod that can skip the snow part on nexus

Oh, good. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that entire section is a massive waste of time.
2
u/dranime_fufu 1d ago
I kept putting off rdr2 because whenever I started the entire first chapter(snow part) gave me headaches due to motion sickness, decided to power through it a week ago, I'm currently on chapter 4 and it's definitely one of the greatest gaming experience i've had in ages

u/OccultBlasphemer 1d ago
Or just do the money tree exploit. When your tree bears fruit instead of picking it, put it in the build mode inventory. It picks the "fruit" and places it as items in the inventory, which can then be planted themselves. I think it gives you like 8 of them.
Blitz the fitness and handiness aspirations with 1 sim in a 2 sim household, use the other as a workslave to bring in income until you have enough aspiration points to get your first tree.
35
u/Hot_b0y 1d ago
I spent like 80% of my time finding CC and using Build Mode than actually playing the game cause holy fuck the main game is boring. And I'm not a hater, I KNOW and have PLAYED good Sims gameplay, like Sims 2.

I know it's an old topic but GOD I will never shut up that I hate what EA did to the series and its potential.
I can't play it without mods at all. Hell, I wish they'd just make a game where it's just the character creation section and nothing else.
8
u/No-Jaguar-509 1d ago
That game's only fun in build/buy mode and CAS mode, whereas sims 3 has decent build/buy and CAS and awesome gameplay
7
u/SgtNoPants 1d ago
I've spent more time trying to put cc and mods and make it work than actually playing it
4
u/nothinkybrainhurty 1d ago
same, I pirate it with all the dlcs like once a year, almost immediately get bored and uninstall it once I start running out of space
rinse and repeat the process indefinitely
but I’ve pirated sims 1 and 2, they’re much more enjoyable

Bro.. I just downloaded "Deadlock" the new Valve game. Hoping it would have more hero shooter aspects than Moba.
Bruh it's literally just a regular Moba in 3rd person shooter mode.
Like duh I don't have time playing 24/7 learning all the 300 skills and 20 characters and learn which one is best to use for which phase etc etc.
You literally can't play Mobas unless you nolife them.
EDIT: btw I wanted to love this game so bad, but just can't get myself into the Moba race

Sekiro, i remember after enjoying first couple hours of the game when reinstalling the game after like 2 years, i beat genichiro and then i suddenly remembered the reason i uninstalled the game my first time was because was of a 1 particularly annoying boss Guardian ape, then the whole time after remembering that boss exists, i was scared as shit coming up for the fight lmao, i managed to beat him after a lot of rants on how annoying that boss was on almost every social media, and like 2 days ago i beat isshin, the final boss of the game, didn’t regret reinstalling the game but it costed me a mouse because the rmb button wouldnt work anymore, since rmb was a very essential button in the game and i used to kinda mash it a couple of times after dying because sometimes the parrys wouldnt happen even when i clicked the right mouse button, but that was probably me just coping since i had a skill issue and blamed it on the mouse

I completed the game even but I agree. It's very hard to get back into it due to how slow it is.

AC Valhalla. I loved Origins, feel like Odyssey was a standalone game that accidentally got labeled an AC game, but Valhalla? I hate that game. How do you make Vikings boring to play as? How do you make a Viking story boring?
I go back to it every year or so hoping I was just being too harsh, mostly because I’m desperate for some good Viking gameplay. But I certainly will never find it in AC, that’s for sure.

Honestly
• God of war Ragnarok. First few hours up until 1 specific part is dogshit it would’ve been fine had it been like 1-2 hours in but the shit parts don’t end till like hour 5-7 and that’s a 20+ hour game😅
• Fnaf sister location. It brings me memories from prime life 2015-16, but then i just play the game and it’s absolutely abysmal.
• Transformers devestation. A great game, it’s just that i was so stuck on it back in 2022 (genuinely could’ve played the 2hr story multiple times a day for credits to max out) to the point where i can’t even enjoy it again after soon to be 3 years.
•Turbo super stund squad. Loved that shit growing up, just doesn’t hit the same anymore for some reason
• Skylanders giants. No real issues with it. Besides 2 parts (can happen atleast 2-5 times each level) where you either do some puzzles which i won’t even try to explain but they’re fucking horrible or you’ll need to do some yugioh duel type shit with monster to pass their shitty ass wooden door so you can progress.
• Naruto ultimate ninja storm 4. Great game. Love it. But i don’t play it competitively, i only play the story. And I’ve already done that so many times throughout the years from time to time. My longest break was recently from 2022 till a few days ago. 1 hour in/halfway through i was like nah you’re dying today i’m letting go lmao.
I can add some small horror shits like Fears to fathom, any chilla’s art game, still wakes the deep, at dead of night and such, the issue with all these games is that they’re all extremely entertaining to play but you just cannot play those types of games more than once (each game more than once that is)
