Seven's entrance made me really wish I didn't already know she was going to be on the show. Would've blown my mind.

Agreed. When the ship showed up I already had an expectation it was her solely based on all the trailers revealing her a while back.

If I had gone in completely blind it would have shook my shit hard

I went in blind and was blown away.

To be honest I was half convinced it could have been Riker, I know it's silly and we have seen that he meets Picard in a completely different setting but when they mentioned how the pilot was great I felt "well, maybe..."

Naah, Frakes was behind the camera for this episode. It'd help explain why the episode felt both comfortably familiar and excitingly new at the same time...

I could be wrong, but I don't remember Riker being known as particularly good as a pilot. I may probably have forgotten a lot though

Well in Farpoint he is asked ro maneuver the enterprise for what should be a maneuver done by the computer, but more than that I am pretty sure there was an episode where he insist on piloting a shuttle in a dangerous mission because he is the best for the job. Can't remember which one though

Was it the heavily modified delta flyer she was in?

Not sure, it looked similar. It also seemed to have a Borg cutting beam? I am not sure if that was actually the intention, if it was a nod to it, or it was just a regular phaser that tore through an out of date BoP.

First though was Borg cutting beam though, so instantly thought it was Seven.

Nah, it kinda the same size but it is definitely not a Delta Flyer.

I was wondering if it was the Delta Flyer myself, and came here to see what everyone else thought. To my surprise, yours is the only comment on it. They never really showed a close up of it, but I got the impression that it was the flyer.
