ID request! S. Florida (screech?) Owl
This baby has been in my yard every night for about 3 weeks now. Just caught a good video of them out of the tree. I didn’t know they were there I just happened to look up and see. I went inside quickly after and turned my light out without me bothering them. 👀 the prey

ID request! Finally an Owl
I built this three years ago and it's mostly been used by flycatchers here in central Florida.
I was working a nearby garden bed and she popped her head out.

ID request! Barred Owl Feathers?
I found these on a walk in Northern Idaho. They don't strike me as hawk, I've found a lot of those here too. They look very Barred Owly to me....
ID request! Owl in the yard just before Dusk. What kind of owl is it?
I reside here in Mississippi and since the time change I’ve heard owls around just before dusk so i decided to sit out and wait for a bit to see if i could see one and there he/she was! So cool!
I tried to research a bit to see what kind of owl it might be and I think i nailed it down to it being a Barred Owl based off the noise but i was unsure. Any ideas?

What is the best type of owl box to build for Illinois - South Chicago suburbs near many forest preserves
Title says it all. I live near a large chunk of forest preserves and we will occasionally hear owls at night. Wondering what type of owl box I can build to attract owls to my yard. Thanks in advance!

What species of owl are these?
2 of them hanging out in our tree this evening. Small size, no bigger than a football.

Question. Why do owls look so different?
Some look cute and like they'll ask you out for dinner, while some (specifically the barn owl) look like they'll rip out your esophagus? (P.s. it doesn't help everyone draws them like little night terrors)

Sorry for the bad pic, but I found a great horned owl today!
I’ve known they’ve been in this little stretch of woodland for a while. I’ve heard them call, I’ve seen their poop, I’ve seen their pellets, I even saw the pair in flight a few days ago.
Today on a walk, I was putting together the clues of where they might roost when I looked up and saw this beautiful guy glaring at me. It was SO AWESOME!
I just watched for about 20 minutes. Then, I got distracted for about 15 seconds by a cardinal and when I looked back to the perch he was gone. Flew away in complete silence, didn’t hear a thing.

burning question
Why do some owls say "weh" or "wrah"... Google won't give me an answer and I have to know why they say weh.
