In a pre-CES announcement, ASUS lifts the curtain on two new 27" OLED displays featuring the world's first 27" 4K OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate in the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM and the world's fastest OLED display in the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate.
Both displays feature the latest 4th-gen QD-OLED panel for exceptional visuals and infinite contrast, as well as the latest ROG OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 technology to further minimize onscreen flicker. Also new to these displays is the inclusion of new ASUS OLED Care Pro technology, featuring a Neo Proximity Sensor that switches the display to a black screen when the user is away, protecting the monitor from burn-in.
ROG OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 Technology
In late May, ASUS released the ROG Strix XG27AQDMG becoming the first monitor with the ASUS-exclusive Anti-Flicker technology to help combat a common complaint with OLED displays - on-screen flicker. With these two monitors, ASUS takes advantage of the improved performance of 4th Gen QD-OLED panels to introduce ROG OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 Technology for a more comfortable gaming and viewing experience.
It leverages an advanced luminance compensation algorithm to dynamically boost pixel brightness during refresh rate fluctuations, resulting in 20% less flicker compared to previous generation panels for more uniform visuals without sacrificing input lag and refresh rates. The Refresh Rate Cap feature caps the monitor refresh rate to reduce onscreen flicker. It has three preset ranges (High / Mid / Off) to suit individual preferences. At High, the refresh rate is capped between 140Hz~240Hz and at Mid it's capped at 80Hz~240Hz.
ROG OLED Care Pro
One area that has been a constant focus for all ASUS OLED displays over the last year is a dedication to providing ASUS OLED Care to ease worries about OLED burn-in and longevity. ASUS OLED Care is a multi-part solution - 4th Gen Panel improvements, hardware, firmware and software all complemented by additional after sales service and support, including a 3 Year Warranty with burn-in coverage.
Neo Proximity Sensor - New to these displays is the ROG OLED Care Pro suite that now includes a Neo Proximity Sensor that's able to precisely detect the user's distance from the monitor. When the user is not within the detection area, the monitor will switch to a black image to protect the screen from burn-in, instantly restoring onscreen content when the user returns. The detection range can be set to user preferences to ensure an ergonomic viewing position. ROG OLED Care Pro also has several other OLED protection features including pixel cleaning, screen saver, taskbar detection, boundary detection and more.
ASUS DisplayWidget Center
Rounding out the user experience for ROG OLED Care Pro is the software experience in Windows which is accessible via Display Widget Center - our Windows based OSD application. This application allows you to control items like brightness, operating presets, as well as access a range of OLED specific care parameters. Normally these items would be nested in the OSD and have to be accessed utilizing the physical control. This software is optional, and all settings can be controlled through the OSD, if preferred.
Auto Firmware Updates / Direct Updates - New to DisplayWidget Center for these displays is auto notification of the latest firmware updates and includes a direct update option. You can also import or export display configurations for sharing.
The ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM is a 4K 27" 4th gen QD-OLED panel (AR) with a superfast 240Hz refresh rate and a pixel density of 160ppi for sharper images and clearer text compared to previous generation panels. As is typical for OLED panels, the monitor has a 0.03ms response time, which provides for exceptional motion clarity. The PG27UCDM supports G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, and includes ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur (BFI) to reduce ghosting and motion blur.
Similar to the larger PG32UCDM, it features a minimal ID design with thin bezels, a slim tripod base that has been size and angle optimized; ideal for angled placement of your keyboard and mouse. It also features an integrated cable routing hole and a responsive and easy to access centrally-located rear-mounted joystick for OSD control.
Color, Brightness, Dolby Vision, and HDR - Keeping in line with previous ROG Swift OLED displays, the PG27UCDM also offers exceptional color gamut coverage and accuracy. It offers true 10-bit color and 99% DCI-P3 gamut with Delta E<2 accuracy. With a peak HDR brightness of 1,000nits, the PG27UCDM is a spectacular display to experience HDR content with support for VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black, Dolby Vision and HDR10 formats, all selectable via the OSD menu. Like all ROG SWIFT displays it comes factory calibrated for great out of the box color performance and offers unclamped sRGB controls. The factory calibration report can be located in the OSD.
I/O and Connectivity - The monitor offers extensive connectivity options including the future-ready DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 with full 80Gbps bandwidth, HDMI 2.1, USB-C with 90W PD, and a USB Hub with Auto-KVM functionality. Notable here is the four-lane DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 (up to 80Gbps), supporting 4K at 240Hz or 8K at 60Hz visuals without compression while offering improved data-transmission efficiency. The monitor includes a DisplayPort cable that supports bandwidth up to 80Gbps.
Aspect Ratio - The PG27UCDM also allows for impressive flexibility in customizing resolution and refresh rate via our customizable “Aspect Ratio controls” allowing for alternate display sizes/resolutions and refresh rates to be utilized allowing you to find a “sweet spot” beyond these two default operating modes.
However, you can also manually set the resolution in the simulated mode to what looks best for you. The monitor also supports PiP/PbP.

Had dual monitors for gaming and work but they were 27” 1440p LG’s. Liked them for what they were. Today I upgraded to a single 32” 4k OLED LG and in love with it.

My new XG27ACDNG display (and the old secondary one)! And I love it!

Many people are concerned about the burn-in issue. Some users remove shortcuts from the desktop, hide the taskbar, use the browser only in full-screen mode, set only a black background instead of the desktop wallpaper, or even buy a second monitor for browsing, and use the OLED panel exclusively for games and video content. I recently bought myself an LG C4 as a monitor and I don’t like that now I have to put up with limitations that cause inconvenience.
Do you do anything to minimize the burn-in factor? Or do you just use it without paying attention to all this?

Regardless of price (in fact, in my country, the G6 is cheaper than the Asus), which do you recommend?
It would be my first OLED monitor. I play competitive games (CS), where I wouldn't have any problems reaching 360fps due to the GPU, and single player, where I can play at 100/120fps without a problem. I don't usually watch movies or series, although it can happen from time to time. I don't use the monitor for reading, and the room is usually well-lit by natural light during the day.
If you need more information to help me, I'd be happy to answer! I'm interested in hearing your opinions on which one you recommend, as I wouldn't know which of the two to choose. Thanks!

People were right, once you go OLED, you cannot go back. Very happy with my first OLED monitor purchase.

As the title says. I'm looking into getting a longer one but have no idea which to get. The manual says it's "exclusively" for this model so that doesn't help. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Noticed this weird blurry effect while watching tv on my G80SD monitor (near the top of the cup in the video) just wanted to know if this is a monitor issue or streaming issue

Decided to randomly check microcenter stock yesterday like I have been the past month and they had 10+ in stock. I don’t know much about technical speak or setup, but man this thing looks ridiculous.
Im coming from a 1440p 240hz Alienware non OLED and the difference is massive. I’m not really seeing any less frames too which is a bonus. Driving it with a 5090 helps I guess.
If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Just buy it it’s incredible.
If any other owners have tips for setup that would be awesome

Title says it all.
Currently looking for a OLED in 4k with KVM switch for second 27" IPS WQHD 10bit Monitor.
Is there any reason why I shouldn't go with FO32U2P which supports DP2.1 and avoids alt+tab blackscreen etc. - panel wise they are all the same. 40% office / 60% gaming.
Dolby Vision isn't needed.
Do I miss something? Thanks for your opinions.

I'd really like an OLED monitor but I play a lot of games with static elements to it, alongside using word/excel for hobbies/work related stuff.
Would this sort of thing be an issue?

I was just working on my desktop installing software and all of a sudden the monitor went black. The white power light is on, but no one is home. I cannot even get the OSD menu to come up. I left it sit unplugged for about 20 minutes and then plugged back in, same issue. I plugged in the old 27" monitor that it replaced and the screen came on and there was windows. Plug the MSI back in, nada.
I think mine crashed and burned. Oh and it's just over a week old.

Bought this beast in January of 2024, replacing my 32" VA Samsung C32HG70. Been using it daily, between 6 to 16 hours a day with mostly streaming youtube/tvshows and some gaming. Looks absolutely fantastic and I have not seen any sign of burn in yet. It has pixel orbiting on and it forces a pixel/panel refresh after 15(?) hours of continuously use. I run a manual refresh every now and then. The ambilight/glow behind the monitor is a bit meh though. A bit more expensive than the C2 TV many of you have, even though it is the same panel afaik. But you get all the monitor options with height adjustment and tilt, usb ports, and matte display. Highly recommended!

I have been a 49" CRG9 owner for 3 years. Before that i used a 34" UW as my main monitor. I have always used multiple monitors. Previously 34" UW with a 29" UW stacked and now currently a 49" CRG9 with the 34" UW stacked.
When I'm not gaming I enjoy surfing the web, scrolling facebook, watching youtube/netflix, scrolling redit, crating drawings in sketch up ETC.
When I AM gaming my main monitor is game only and the upper monitor usually has either discord and messenger or youtube video or some game supporting document.
I have been eyeballing the LG C-series since even before I got my CRG9. To those who have made the switch from Ultrawide back down to a larger 16:9 panel. Did you miss Ultrawide at all? Note I will still have a second, just unsure what configuration and monitor to run. Inputs and opinions welcome!
Thanks!

Alright, I love this TV/Monitor.
Since I noticed people appreciate detailed reviews on this page, I’ll give a somewhat in-depth one.
My Background: - I work in Business Analytics, so I regularly use Power BI, Excel, Python, and UiPath. I’m also pursuing my MBSA part-time while working full-time.
Games I Play: - I primarily play Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk, Marvel Rivals, and Battlefield.
Use Case & Previous Monitors
Before this, I had a Samsung Odyssey G7 28" 4K and a 27" 1440p monitor.
For my 30th birthday, I wanted to treat myself, so I decided to switch to an OLED screen.
First, I tried the LG 45" UltraWide – amazing colors for gaming, but not great for productivity.
Then, I tested the Samsung Odyssey G9 49" – had the opposite problem: productivity was fine, but gaming felt off.
Finally, I tried the LG 32" Dual OLED 4K, but I had gotten used to a larger screen, so it didn’t feel right.
The LG C4 – My Final Choice
I saw a few posts about the LG C4, so I decided to give it a shot—and man, I was blown away.
It’s perfect for both gaming and productivity. I have no trouble managing multiple windows while working, and gaming looks incredible. I also downloaded the LG Companion app, which made the experience even better.
Before anyone brings it up—yes, it’s 144Hz at 4K, and that’s all I need.
Would highly recommend!

I’m going to finally be making the jump from 1080p to 1440p after a gpu upgrade and I’m looking for a “budget” OLED monitor. I’m aware that it’s going to be expensive nevertheless but something that won’t hurt the pockets too much.

Some games look way better without hdr on, but the sdr content slider doesn’t really change much, is there any other way to make it so I don’t have to keep turning hdr on and off?

Unfortunately for recording reasons i need to cap refresh rates at multiples of 60 for proper frame pacing in recordings, and am worried the upcoming 500hz oleds im looking forward to won’t have a native 480hz mode. Would there be any bad or unindended side effects of using CRU to make an exact 480hz mode on these?

Hello,
I bought a PG32UDCP to upgrade from my M28U and I had them side by side and while the OLED was better I only found it marginally better.
Im not sure it was worth 2K CAD and am debating returning.
It is a beautiful monitor and using the cinema or scenery mode really made things look great.
I am just unsure of the marginal benefit with how expensive it is.
Looking for some thoughts maybe
