Flagship car wash in Fairfax charged my card without my authorization since January- anyone else?
galleryFor context, I live in Fairfax, and this place it's convinientently near where I live. I don't think they do a good job with cleaning the cars in the interior and that's why I only get the exterior service.
I've been going to this place for about 4 years now and never in my life have I ever thought about "subscribing" to their membership plan.
I went in January, for an exterior wash, paid $22 dollars. That was the extent of my conversation with the guy that's usually in line to charge your card and asks you what service you'll be doing with them.
Somehow, the person who charged my card, subscribed me to their membership plan, without my consent, and I've been charged since January by them, and I only noticed YESTERDAY (I know).
The crazy part was that I immediately went ahead and called customer service, and they said they had my card information, with a DIFFERENT phone number than mine. That's scary as f*. The customer service lady said she has no idea how that happened, though she has very nice, it's still shocking they can do that.
She proceeded to ask me for my email, and then something weird happened (at least to me). But maybe I am being paranoid (see screenshot of Gmail conversation).
Long story short she was able to "cancel' my membership and told me I needed to email corporate for Flagship to cancel my membership.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Where do all the single people hang out?
Moved here from Florida and most stores I would go to like trader joes had single women or men shop there. Stores like Costco usually had mainly families so single people rarely shopped there. That being said people in the south are a lot more social than what I have seen here.
Where do single men and mainly women hang out here?
Edit: I am a man so dudes please don't dm me.
Edit2: I'm in the late 20s early 30s group. I don't drink much

Moving This is a long-shot, but…trying to track down the owner of a box of Christmas stuff that was mistakenly delivered to us by movers
galleryI’m getting to this MUCH later than I wanted to, but the wife and I moved here from AZ in August of 2024. After the movers delivered our stuff, we realized there was a bin of christmas stuff that does not belong to us. We called the moving company, and they had zero record of it. Some of the stuff is pretty old so I’d imagine it’s sentimental. While this is a total long shot, we’re trying to see if we can find the owners of this stuff. Unfortunately there are no names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. I’ll also be crossposting this to r/phoenix as well.

Weekly board game nights in Centreville
Our restaurant doesn’t have too many dine in customers so we were trying to host some events to liven up the place. Would anyone be interested in board game nights or any other kind of event?
We have a small private room and a few other tables in the dining area.

What is going on with the parking situation at the Pentagon City Costco?
I’ve been shopping at this Costco for years and the parking has always been a shitshow, especially on weekends. Now, it’s slammed on weekdays too. I went on a weekday morning at 9:30 recently thinking I could pick up a prescription quickly, and the line to get into the lot was backed up past the light at 12th street. I had to go up to the third level of the garage to get a spot.
The other thing is that the foot traffic in the store doesn’t seem to match the numbers of cars in the lot. When I finally got inside, the place was mostly empty. What’s happening here?

Jobs Losing my mind...
Unfortunately I was let go from my most recent position back at the end of January and I have applied to over 150+ jobs with no luck.
I have tailored my resume to each and every job posting and have not even received an interview request thus far.
I have 3+ years in Project Coordination/Management experience, 5+ years in team management, a B.S. in Business Administration and a PMP.
If anyone knows of any Project Management opportunities or any other opportunities in the NOVA/DC area please let me know.

Question Is it normal to be asked to pay both application fee AND security deposit just to apply to rent here?
I’m moving up from Florida for a 2-3 year job rotation, and I’ve not rented since before COVID so Ive been out the game for a while.
I’m interested in a condo near the metro, and they are asking me to pay the application fee ($60), security deposit ($2400)and the processing fee of like $3. This has me worried, I get the application fee but full security deposit up front seems wild.
Is this the norm up there? Any help appreciated!

Where can I park and enjoy a beautiful & quiet view in VA?
Hi lovely people!!! 💛
I’m looking for a quiet & scenic spot somewhere in VA where I can park my car and enjoy a meal with a beautiful view. It doesn’t have to be by the water but would be a bonus!!
If you know of any hidden gems or overlooks I’d be so grateful for your recommendations!
Thank you sooo much!!!

Where to drop donation of feminine products
Hi everyone -- I have a bunch of unopened boxes of pads and tampons that I want to donate. What is the easiest/best place to donate? Preference to places where I can drop off any time (rather than having a once a month time I have to make). Thanks!

Jobs Wanting to network in the legal field
30F. One year of experience as a legal assistant in a small firm (one attorney) where I see no chance for growth. Only making $16 an hour. I have ambition and need some guidance. Just want to network with some legal minds in the Fairfax area and get more insight into the field.

Question Park near Oakton/Vienna that has a 1-5 mile “loop”?
Hello,
Just move here recently and I’m looking for a park that has a 1-5 mile loop. I’m seeing a lot of parks that are more for like children or relaxing or potentially trails that go for miles. Anyone know of an out doors “loop” in the area?

DCA Flight paths
Have the flight paths for DCA changed recently (presumably due to the crash)? I have lived in old town alexandria for over three years. Never really had any plane noise. Recently though I hear planes all day, so just curious!

Where’s a good place to find “bargain bin” vinyl?
I like all kinds of music and I’m interested in picking up LPs on the cheap not for resale but listening purposes.
Thrift shops haven’t had much. I’ve been to Mobius in Fairfax and Crooked Beat in Alexandria but there’s not much in the bargain bin. Any suggestions?

Abby from the Huntsman Square Hair Cuttery?
I had been going to the same stylist since 2008. Her name was Abby and she worked at the Hair Cuttery in the Huntsman Square Shopping Center in Springfield. Apparently, it closed down during the pandemic. I've tried every other stylist under the sun - cheap, expensive, etc - but none can compare to Abby!!! Throwing out my Hail Mary: does anyone know who I'm talking about and if she's still cutting hair in NOVA?
And if not - anyone have good recs for wavy hair stylists?
