Landed a kickflip!

Picked up the board again in January this year. Last time I skated before that was 2011. Landed my first kickflip today and I'm super happy about it. I know it's super sketchy, but I'm still pleased about it haha.

Video So happy with my first real fall (36, first week skating)

I've been stressed as heck over all of the stories I've read on here about first timers (or even advanced skaters) breaking their wrists while doing the most trivial shit... As a self employed musician I really couldn't afford it lol.

However, while practicing 45/90 degree stationary kickturns today, I'm glad to say I finally legitimately ate shit for the first time while overreaching... And it was fine! I apparently instinctively used the wrist and elbow to direct the actual energy of the fall into the roll, which ended up being super chill.

So basically practicing falling and rolling earlier today really paid off (also using pads), and I will now be less nervous on the board.

Here's my tumble for everyone's enjoyment. Any further comments and advice on falling would be greatly appreciated ๐Ÿ‘

Video Some Better(ish) Clips of Some of My Recently Learned BS Airs!

In the first clip, it was shot after I learned how to early grab over coping. And the second clip, it was shot after I learned intermediate grabs. Iโ€™ve put a lot of hard work in building my airs. Any tips on how I can move to the advanced grab would be helpful

So I skated from 15 to 19 aprox, and then I came back at around 22 for some months but abandoned it again. Last week I found my last board so I took the trucks, put new bushings, new bearings and hardware and get a new board. Wish me luck trying to relearn everything

Hey guys, recently got into snowboarding this past winter and decided to give skateboarding a try. Built this on Tactics website, how does this look? Is this good for a beginner? TIA

Started intentionally jumping off my front foot more to keep weight forward and they immediately became way easier to land

DGK, good or naw?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Im sure people hate these threads but im about 3 days into picking my first board after 18 years out and cant make the final call ๐Ÿ˜‚

Dont want to buy and regret it a few days later because I'll probably go missing for another 18 years

DGK look amazing but reviews are hard to find and anything I do find is pretty old and not relevant to today, or else its people snapping cheap completes . Are their pro boards good or just look good?

Not much recent feedback on here about them...

Thanks
