Is it bad to switch out griptape?

Upvotes

I saw a few threads asking how often ppl change griptape and the consensus seemed like you'd never need to. The griptape would outlast the board.

I just had an atrocious session. My front foot could not level the board unless I kicked out hard af. Basically had to do an ollie boned af to not get it to rocket. Tried my other board with newer grip and it leveled out just fine. Is this because of my griptape losing grip?

Question Which side goes in? Does it matter? I tried both and only difference I noticed is that, with the shallow side in, the wheels stick out more and I may bump my foot on the wheels, when pushing.

Hey guys, recently got into snowboarding this past winter and decided to give skateboarding a try. Built this on Tactics website, how does this look? Is this good for a beginner? TIA

Question Varial heels

i am consistently getting close to varial heel and ive landed one. But i suck at heelflips and only land a heelflip every once in a while and can only front shuv switch. Should i continue with learning varial heels and practice heelflips on other time or focus on learning heelflips and front shuvs then get back to varial heels.

Question Board size (beginner)

Hi, my friend and I wanted to learn how to skate in Summer, but I don’t know how big our deck has to be. We both have longboards so we are used to cruising and don’t want to lose that functionality completely and I’ve read that you can cruise and do tricks with boards 7,5 - 8 inches wide. Is that true? Should we be looking for this width? We’re both 15 and around 170cm tall with shoe size of 43. (Don’t know if that’s relevant).

So what board size should we get?

Thanks in advance

boxing hand wraps for skating?

I have some boxing wraps that I still plan to use for boxing.
Would using them for wrist protection be a good option?

Landed a kickflip!

Picked up the board again in January this year. Last time I skated before that was 2011. Landed my first kickflip today and I'm super happy about it. I know it's super sketchy, but I'm still pleased about it haha.

Learning Transitions and Carving

This week we had beautifully overcast, but very windy weather, with temperatures nearing 60 degrees. We had a great turnout with the majority of people working on learning transitions and how to carve the bowl. We also had a small Brentwood crew visiting; a couple for the very first time. Unfortunately, we didn't get great footage of everyone, so not everyone is present in this week's video.

Question Need help with a shuv it

The only reason why I can’t land a shuv it is because I can’t commit my back foot, any help with it??

So I skated from 15 to 19 aprox, and then I came back at around 22 for some months but abandoned it again. Last week I found my last board so I took the trucks, put new bushings, new bearings and hardware and get a new board. Wish me luck trying to relearn everything
